I was serving on jury duty and wanted somewhere walking distance to go to for lunch, so I randomly found this place on HappyCow. It is in a food court. You can get 2, 3, or 4 items plus inerja bread or brown rice. I got red lentils, kale salad with peaches, beet salad, and green beans with carrots. The portions are moderate sized and I really enjoyed the food. It wasn't too oily or heavy.

great find just off the freeway
We stopped here on our way to big bear. We had the dumplings, rainbow roll, teriyaki eel, and cold noodle salad. We were served our food within minutes - so fast!! All of the food was amazingly delicious!

delicious tofu scrambles, terrible service
Party of 6. Mom ordered tea, specified "hot water and a tea bag" and got a chai latte that she did not want. All of our food came out cold. We sent it back and nothing was comped, we just had to wait another hungry 10 minutes for our food. Waiter forgot to bring me more soy creamer for my coffee. Then they tried to pour decaf coffee in my dad's regular coffee cup.

Nothing special. The butternut squash soup was delicious. I asked for a recommendation of something healthy and the waitress suggested the lentil curry bowl with over-fried lentil balls. She was kind enough to exchange it for the Hungarian goulash bowl. I would have rather had Israeli salads instead.

Not that impressed
I think the Vegan Thai thing is WAY overdone in southern California. The food here, while reasonably priced, just wasn't anything spectacular. I much prefer California Vegan. My friend got a dish spiced with mint leaves, and it had bite to it, but really no flavor. I got the P.E.T., which was a creative dish with pumpkin and eggplant, which was decent.

I love the udon noodle soup!
The udon noodle soup and tofu rolls are big winners. This is a great place to take a non-veg place.
Kevin is always very friendly and eager to make helpful suggestions for what to order if you're not sure, because there are so many good choices.
My only complaint is that when I've ordered takeout I've gotten a huge amount of salad and very little tofu/protein.

My Tuesday Habit!
I am here every Tuesday afternoon after work to pick up a week's worth of produce. My favorite two booths are the amazing heirloom tomatoes and greens sold by Garrett, and Dave's Korean.

Decent vegan food
The wraps are consistently good and the service is very prompt. I like the pancakes and "eggz" too. However, the stir fries and curries are mediocre at best.

Vegan options, just not very flavorful
In the Mandalay Bay indoor mall. Back panel of the menu is a vegan menu. We had guacamole and chips, vegan Caesar salad, and vegan fish tacos. The food was okay, edible, reasonable portions, just not very flavorful.

Bad service, not so great food
I came here for lunch in January 2011 with a vegan friend and a vegetarian friend. There were three men working behind the counter. None spoke very good English. I asked the first, "Which items do not have dairy?" He said there were four, and then pointed to five items. He then quickly moved on to the next customer, so I had to ask the next gentleman what was vegan. He then pointed to some of the same items, and then one item which he said -- "This is no milk, it has cheese and vegetables". And then he too moved on to the next customer!
Finally, I was able to get one staff member to point out exactly which items were dairy-free, but I felt like I was pulling teeth just to get that information!
The food was cheap, but wasn't very good. Four dollars and change for a big styrofoam plate full of nondescript, not very appetizing looking food.
I work a mile away, but I don't think I'll be coming back any time soon.

First off, "Ital" is not short for Italian, but is rather a Rastafarian style of food.
Small restaurant with maybe 8 chairs on a second floor. Short menu, with one or two main dishes available each day, one of which is always vegan. Vegan veggie burger also available. Several side dishes including fried plantains, but unfortunately a few such as the lentil balls which have such good reviews were not available. Delicious juices as well, including soursop and chlorophyll juices.
We got a kale dish with coconut fried rice and a salad. Also, Christopher the owner was kind enough to give us fried bread fruit and the chlorophyll juice for free.
Everything was awesome. My family of 11 (mom, dad, brother, sis-in-law, 4 nieces) left happy and full.

Healthy vegan and tasty!
Their smoothies are delicious and I love their sandwiches. However, they have really scaled back -- they used to have a delicious salad bar with kale, beet salad, quinoa, and sesame tofu, which they've gotten rid of. I find this disappointing because I thought the salad bar and unique options there really set them apart from other local vegan restaurants. Their cookies are delicious too. We order lunch from them regularly, and my non-vegan office staff loves their food.

Delicious and filling vegan dinner
For two of us, we had the chick'n wings, Romelia salad, and a personal-size garden faux pie. It was more than enough for dinner and delicious!

Authentic Indian food, BEST service ever!
Streets of India Cafe is better than I could have imagined. My friend and I, both of us vegans, walked into the quiet restaurant for dinner. The gentleman at the counter guided us through the entire menu and told us what was vegan, which was just about everything. As we ordered, he alerted the kitchen that everything on our order should be done vegan. We had a dosa, saag, and the dal of the day, which came with a choice of brown or white rice. Our server even brought out several choices of pickle.
For less than twenty dollars, my friend and I had a filling and delicious dinner.
While I am not Indian, I've had many Indian friends over the years, and I've had some great home Indian cooking. The food tasted authentic, not like the overly oily and greasy Indian food that is typically served in Indian restaurants.
And, to top it all off... when ordering, I inquired if the desserts could be done vegan. Unfortunately they cannot be. But, halfway through our meal, a woman came out and told us she was bringing us a vegan dessert.... on the house! It was a cream of wheat-style dish in coconut milk with ground pistachio and coconut on top, and was absolutely delicious. I hope that this dessert eventually makes it to the menu.
Top-notch service and superior food. I will definitely be coming back!

Incredible Soul Food!
I was at a conference near LAX, so my friend and I stopped by since we had heard good things about the place. The food was INCREDIBLE! We split a large soul food plate and a taco. I loved the mac n cheese and yams. The owners even made it a point to come talk to us. Friendly place, amazing food!

I just discovered them a week ago and I've already been back once for more!!!
The kale shake is surprisingly delicious. I've had the pumpkin soup, asian salad, and curry sandwich, and these have all been terrific.
One of my new favorites.

great breakfast spot!
We had a long layover at the airport, so after seeing the listing on HappyCow we decided to swing by. We started with some coffee with soy milk, and then had Everything bagels toasted with peanut butter and jelly, and a Green Monster smoothie and a Strawberry Banana Blast smoothie (without yogurt because we are vegan). Great service, and we chilled out on their couch. Lots of locals who seem to be regulars too.
