Th Chonwithi, Na Thon, Koh Samui, Thailand

Food very tasty

30 Jan 2007

Called in to Nathon a couple of times whilst staying on Koh Samui and ate here both times. The food is great and the place lovely. Lots to choose from. You can even get scambled tofu on toast which is something I've never seen on a menu anywhere ever!! Well worth a visit if you're in Nathon. It's easy to find, too.

2 St James St, Sheffield, England

Lovely place

02 Sep 2008

Ate here for the first time last week. There were 5 of us, 3 vegans, 1 carnivore and 1 sugar and gluten intolerant - blimey! But we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Plenty of choice and big portions. Will definitly come again. (Sheffield's not a bad place to visit either!). We also found the staff helpful and friendly. They certainly knew what was in each dish. Although, we did have to clear the table before we could sit down. This place is well worth the visit if you're in town.

Lovely cheesecake

26 Sep 2012

Called in for an early lunch as it opens at 11am. Ordered the mushrooms on toast-type pizza with chips. Very tasty. Followed that with a slice of cheesecake, yum. The cafe has a small seating area and it's near to an organic market.
The waiter was very pleasant, too.
The only gripe I had was with the American gangsta rap that was playing over the speakers. I don't want to hear blokes singing about f**king this or that or white b*tches. Or is that just me?

15-17 Grape Lane, The Quarter, York, England

funky little place in York

25 Jan 2010

This place is vegan so well worth a visit if you're in York. The cuisine is tapas but with dishes from all over. There is plenty of choice. We were a party of 3 so started with a soup each (which was really tasty) followed by a 'fleet'. A 'fleet' is a selection of 6 of the tapas dishes. This worked out really well for us as there was plenty of choice but we weren't over-faced. The soup cost £4.50 each and the float was £19.50. The service was good to say they were so very busy. And the staff are informative, helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, as they are so popular, they do have to turn people away. But please don't let that put you off. York isn't so big that you can't shop a bit longer in the area and try again....

Great food, lovely place to eat

05 Jan 2012

We ate here end December 2011. The place is quite small but they manage to get everyone a table. The menu was quite extensive for vegans - vegan options or veggie adaptable. I had the weener sandwich which came in a warm bagette with salad. It cost around £6 which was good value as it was filling. Can recommend this cafe to everyone and we'll certainly go again the next time we're in York (which is great for shopping, sightseeing, touristing)

9 Rue la Cerisaie, Paris, France

Wholefoody and tasty

29 Sep 2008

A typical wholefood style cafe that serves tasty food. All vegan - hurrah. Had desserts. Apart from ordering at the counter, everything was self-service. There's a shop next door which could be handy. Average Parisian prices.

24 rue Rambuteau, Paris, France

Very tasty

29 Sep 2008

The tip here was to get there early. So, we were waiting outside the door when it opened at 6 (Friday evening.) We were the only people there, the place was empty, and the waiter took one look at us, looked around the empty restaurant and said 'have you booked'. You would think he would have remembered a booking if it was the first one of the night. Hey ho. Anyway, he let us stay and eat. The menue is divided between veggie and vegan which makes ordering very easy. However, the prices are scary. I opted to have just a main course, no drinks or starter because it was so pricy. The meal though was very, very tasty. And by the time we'd finished, there was only 5 other people in.....

Bright and cheery vegan restaurant in Paris!

26 Sep 2012

We've never been to a Loving Hut before and were more than happy with our visit. It's a bright and cheerful place, that's easy to find (bonus). The menu had plenty on offer and we both went for the vegan crepe. Being a vegan for over 100 years, we'd never had one before so being in France, we had to order it! It was lovely.
We would definately go back as we would like to try other dishes on the menu.

444 Phayathai Rd, Bangkok, Thailand

Easy to find

30 Jan 2007

Didn't much rate the food here. It's a bit 'take-away'. The place is noisy and crowded but is handy if you're shopping in the MBK centre (which is recommended as they sell everything you could possible need, clothes, watches, bags, without being at tourist prices).

137 Whitehall Road, Drighlington, Bradford, England

The best Indian restaurant in the UK - official

22 Sep 2010

According to Gordon Ramsey, Prashad is the best indian restaurant in the UK. I can confirm this as I go regularly. Not only is it the best but it's 100% veggie too with lots of vegan options. The dosa is out of this world. If you're any where near Bradford, go, you'll not be disapointed. Mind you, now that they've had such good publicity on national TV, you may need to book!!!!

41 Rue des Bourdonnais, Paris, France

Best place in Paris

29 Sep 2008

Absolutely love this place. We were only in Paris for 3 nights and we came here twice. The waitress/owner(?) is really friendly and she recommends dishes with wild abandon! There is an English version of the menu available. The food is wonderful and we think entirely vegan. They even offer vegan lassi! The place itself is bright and cheery and well presented. The prices are acceptable. We would definitly recommend this restaurant to veggies, vegans and non-veggies.

20, rue de la Pierre Levée, Paris, France

Really tasty food

26 Sep 2012

I agree with the previous reviewee. We weren't quite sure what we were getting as our French isn't perfect and there's very little English spoken. All we were sure of was that it'd be vegan. We ended up with the mixed plate of dips and salads which I'm not sure what it's called, but is really, really good. It's the sort of dish you'd think, hmmmm, that sounds boring, and maybe not order (if you could understand what was on the menu). But you'd not be disappointed because it is very tasty.
As for the menu, it seems to be in 3 price bands without any food mentioned. You choose the price you want to pay and the waiter tells you what's on offer. Great if you speak French. Our waiter was very patient with us which is why we got something vegan.
It's worth going though if you're in the area. Get there early because it gets very busy around 1pm.

285 Soi Phraya Singhaseni, Bangkok, Thailand

Easy to find

30 Jan 2007

We actually found this place easy to find which isn't like us at all! Just follow the directions given with the listing. The place is small but worth a visit if you're in the area. We came here from visiting the park and before going on to see China Town. The food was tasty and plentiful. The prices are cheap too.

88 Moo 5 Bophut, Tambon Choeng Mon Beach, Koh Samui, Thailand

This place has to be visited!

30 Jan 2007

We were extremely lucky to be staying only walking distance from this wonderful restaurant. We ate here so many times that we almost went through the entire menu. There is so much on offer and all of it truely delicious. My only problem being that the portions are just too big! As hard as I tried, I couldn't finish my chocolate cake! And it's all vegan. This is the sort of place that makes you want to emigrate just to be more local. And the staff are really friendly, too. There's internet access and an international phone available too. And if you really wanted to, you could do some yoga.

14, rue Bichat, Paris, France

Well recommended

29 Sep 2008

It's a bit off the beaten track (or maybe we just went the long way around) but this little restaurant is well worth going to. There's a huge menu available. It has an Oriental feel to the dishes and as we love Asian food, this was great. The prices are acceptable. The place is small and gets crowded due to it's popularity. Go - it's great.
