All Food Vegan!

My friend and I went here for breakfast this morning and we both left very well fed. Firstly, there was obviously so much choice on the menu as the entire brunch menu is vegan so I did struggle to choose what I was going to have. (It was great to see that they are fully dog-friendly as well!) I chose the breakfast wrap which came stuffed with tofu which is always good to see. It was super tasty aswell! I also ordered the super My friend had the super boost drink which was definitely freshly made and super tasty - just the right amount of ginger for me. My friend had the skillet and couldn't finish it. I tried to finish it off but was already full from mine. The skillet was really nice, although I did prefer the taste of the wrap I had. Either way, both meals were delicious.
Staff were friendly and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was lovely. I could tell it would also be nice for evening meals too.
There was a selection of cakes by the till which looked absolutely delicious and so tempting (and huge portions!) but as it was breakfast I felt I couldn't really think about cake haha! If I'm ever back in Newcastle I would highly recommend this place

Pros: everything veggie/vegan, tasty food & good portions, fab atmosphere

Cons: slightly pricey

Newcastle Vegan Institution

It’s one of the best.

Would be a 5 star but prices are increasing and portion sizes getting smaller.

Their banana-blossom fish & chips has been replaced by a tasteless battered tofu version, very disappointing.

Sticky toffee pudding to die for (sometimes scrimp on the custard though)!

Super filling!

It’s so nice to have a veggie restaurant right by the station as soon as you come into Newcastle! We loved the menu and it was a very tough choice. We decided on the vegan gyros and vegan shawarma. Both excellent and very filling. We ended on the key lime pie which was lovely and Limey!

Excellent menu

This is a brilliant vegan cafe. Lots on the menu. I had the teriyaki chicken wrap and the other half had the seitan and stuffing sandwich. Absolutely delicious both.

Amazing variety of awesome food :)

The waitresses are all really friendly especially Kyle, Joanne, and Georgia. I will give 5 stars if they remove milk from the menu and become fully vegan. They have awesome vegan hotdogs.

Great vegan food

I always choose a Donor Kebab when it is available as I miss the meaty version. This was really tasty and filling. Also lovely atmosphere and setting. Thank you.

I came back for breakfast and take out Burrito. I recommend both !

Great range of choices

Loads to choose from, covering smaller plates to main meals, all large portions. Nice busy setting, food bought quickly, more of a lunch spot than an evening meal I would say, but very nice. Good chips and tasty wraps

Amazingly varied menu!

Amazing vegan options with a super extensive menu - one of the best I’ve seen in a while, actually - you’re literally spoiled for choice. The offering is really original, too, not the same old fare you get everywhere. The only downside is it’s super expensive… but I’m glad they’re thriving, and we DO end up going every time we’re in Newcastle.

Amazing food

We loved the decor, lighting, etc. A great menu with lots to choose from. The food was amazing. We visited on a very busy Saturday night and we did wait about 45-50 mins for our mains which sadly meant we had to cancel our dessert order of sticky toffee pudding & custard as we didn’t have time to stay longer but the food we had was brilliant so I’d recommend giving yourself plenty of time. Turkish kebab for my partner, lasagne for me - piping hot & the chunky chips were top tier. Will definitely return when back in Newcastle.

Great place with great food

Stopped in Newcastle and found this gem!

First of all, the whole place had a great vibe and the menu was very exciting.
They do Sunday roasts on a Sunday but you have to pre-book. The options looked so good and we looked at other plates in awe.

My partner got the rueben which was seitan with vegan cheese and sauerkraut on a toasted bread. It was incredible! So were the chips - crispy but soft on the inside.
I got the soup of the day which was lentil and asked for the focaccia on the side. The only negative of the place was how salty the soup and the focaccia was, it overpowered every other flavour.

Amazing restaurant

Our non vegan friends took us here when we visited. They loved the food so much. It was perfect for us. So much choice and cooked from fresh. One of the best espresso martinis too. Highly recommended. Went back to get the cheeze scones for the journey home 💚

Beautiful breakfast/brunch

I had a gorgeous breakfast of potatoes with vegan sausage and garlic bread. It was so filling and tasty. The cafe is decorated so lovely also and it had a nice atmosphere even on a cold and rainy Wednesday.

A lovely food oasis in Newcastle

We've been going to Super Natural for years and love the atmosphere. The menu is smaller than it used to be which is positive as the food now seems more consistently good. The lasagne and tofish & chips were generous and tasty. We always enjoy their roast dinner and I'd say the seitan is the best I've had. There's a good selection of drinks and the cocktails have a good kick. The desserts are lush! It is disappointing that they still offer dairy milk and in an age where plant milk is mainstream it would be a positive move forward to go fully vegan.

Pros: tasty food, good atmosphere, good value

Cons: offer dairy milk, plastic sauce sachets not environmentally friendly

I give up

As a vegan, I really wanted to support this place and gave it several chances, but the food has consistently disappointed. The lasagna was a huge disappointment, and the festive sandwich was so dry we had to ask for gravy. The drinks are nice and the staff are lovely, but after multiple visits it’s hard to keep blaming “the wrong choice.” Sadly, I won’t be returning.

Busy, lots of options

Managed to get a table, the weekend we were in Newcastle every time we wanted to eat here it was busy or fully booked, which is a good sign, but annoying for us. There are takeaway options though. Lots of options on the menu which is great. Offers on two courses. You order at the till, cakes available too. Good portion sizes and value for money. One thing I didn’t like is the sell dairy milk.

Pros: Lots of options , Good portion size

Cons: Dairy milk available , Fully booked not tables, so book in advance , Staff didn’t approach straight away.

Don't give this place a miss! You will regret!

The staff are extremely friendly and the food is great. Been a few times and I have never had a dish that I did not like. The curries have loads of flavour, the breakfasts are divine, lovely sarnies, and their house made lemonade is absolutely delicious! Not too sweet! The puddings are also amazing! Had a chocolate tart that was rich and deep in flavour. The coffees are really nice as well, i like to grab an oatmilk caramel iced latte!

Pros: Student discounts accepted, Great environment, Clean building

Cons: Cow's milk is offered for drinks

Super Toon Scran

Lovely ambience early evening, pretty busy but somewhere I felt comfortable as a single diner. Food was perfectly fine. Very cheesy playlist being piped out didn’t really fit with the feel of the place but we’ll forgive them that

Pros: Ambience, felt calm and relaxed, Welcoming space for single diners, Efficient but unobtrusive service

Cons: The cheesiest of playlists!

A Delight

Over the course of 3 days we ate here 3 times: Sunday lunch, breakfast the next day and lunch on day 3. We loved it. The food is flavoursome and creative. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. Spacious and calm. We felt we could just as easily have gone for a coffee and a chill or for a full on special meal. The piped music can be a bit cheesy but on the whole was not too invasive.

Pros: Atmosphere., Food options.

Awesome

We have now been coming to Super Natural since 2018, since I was on maternity leave with our youngest. Its a very welcoming and relaxed place with lovely food options. Lots of variety and really well cooked and presented dishes. The menu changes often but retains some of its favs. A great place for brunch, lunch, dinner, or even just a coffee and cake. Staff are always lovely.
It is a firm family favourite.
