Amazing - Edit
The food here was really good! Especially the vegan mushroom burger, that was the best! I highly recommend it (with pesto!)! We also tried the middle easters plate and some cakes, they were yummy too!

Lovely - Edit
Such a wonderful atmosphere with plenty of seating space and really friendly staff, all the cakes were vegan and I was so happy with how much choice there was for vegans. Practically everything either was or could be made vegan! The quiche was amazing and the cake I tried was probably one of the best vegan cakes I have ever had - no joke. Defo coming back to this place!
Pros: lots of vegan options, lots of seating space, friendly staff

I visited with two relations who are not vegan or vegetarian and they loved the food too.
I had a vegan quiche which was delicious and came with potatoes and salad.
Our waitress was very helpful.
Pros: Plenty of variety on menu, Nice old building with courtyard in city centre, Excellent staff
Cons: Toilets were up two flights of stairs

Visiting a friend in York and decided to pop in for something to eat and decided to get a takeaway. Me and my friend got the Hotdog and I also got the Vegan chocolate cake, both very good! Staff were very nice and the food only took 15mins to be prepared. Overall would definitely recommend, affordable and enjoyable!

A real treat in York - Edit
Goji is small but really cosy, with an enticing window display of cakes (about 50% vegan) and then a tight squeeze past the popular deli counter. Once you do manage to get in and hopefully get a table, the food is tasty and reasonably priced. There is seating on the ground and first floors, with toilets way up on the second. The menu has plenty of vegan options, all clearly marked, and the Sunday roast is a real treat. I've had the falafel there before and been a bit disappointed, but everything else has been amazing and the service is usually fast and friendly, especially from those behind the counter. The cakes are delicious, and vegan ice cream/cream are readily available, and the hot drinks (including hot chocolate) are great.

Outstanding - Edit
In common with other reviewers I had a problem with an ordered item not arriving (the marshmallow that was supposed to go on my hot chocolate), but when it finally did materialise Goji gave me a discount on the rest of the bill so I was very happy (especially as both hot chocolate and marshmallow were delightful). This is a very tall thin building with little space and hard-to-reach toilets, but the food is amazing. I made a simple order, just a veggieburger (quinoa and sweet potato). One would think it was impossible for that to be interesting, but it was the best burger I have ever had. It had an almost unbelievable sophistication of texture and flavour, crispy and tender exactly where it should be, seasoned very thoughtfully and served at just the right temperature. I probably sound very silly rhapsodising about a veggieburger but the cake was also excellent. I will go again as soon as possible.
Pros: Food is spectacular, vegan marshmallows, nice décor
Cons: Forgetful staff, cramped

Lovely yorkshire veggie cafe - Edit
We visited here twice on a two night stay in York, and would have come again if we'd had the time.
First time was a lunch time visit on a friday, staff were friendly and the cafe was busy. The menu was great, vegans well catered for, unlike some veggie places we've visited. I had vegan quiche of the day- roasted cauliflower with roast potatoes and salad, it was restaurant quality food. My husband had asian tofu and veg skewers on rice, (which was like a rissoto) We really enjoyed our dishes, great portion sizes too.
We had the most wonderful yorkshire sticky toffee pudding for afters- made fresh on site. It was lovely.
We also visited on saturday morning for breakfast- we were first in. I had sundried tomato and roast veggie frittata my husband had tofu and quinoa rissole. Filling and tasty breakfast - set us up for the day. However we did take away some liquorice cake and ginger loaf (because we couldn't resist)- supplied to goji by leeds bakery, That old chestnut vegan bakery.
Pros: Great food, choice and quality, Lovely friendly atmosphere and staff, Great value for money

My favourite - Edit
I love Goji and go as often as I can. It's a lovely place to sit in for a proper meal, but I more often get a take away to eat in the garden of the nearby York Minster. They do big boxes of really delicious mixed salads that vary every day. It's a great restaurant, go!
Pros: really excellent food, Lovely staff, Did I mention the excellent food?

Brilliant - Edit
Me (vegan) and my mother (meat lover) went here on the 5th August and we absolutely loved it. The vegan quiche was fab and apparently so was the veggie one (mother's opinion!). I've had the take away from here many times and it never disappoints, if you only pop in for one thing make sure it's the daily vegan chocolate cake, all variations are absolutely delicious!
Not bad prices at all, very generous portions and all the drinks are organic - oh and there's even a outdoor area with hanging baskets full of tomatoes and flowers! Great place for everyone to eat, no matter what dietary requirements.
Pros: Good Price, Good Atmosphere, Good Portions

Fabulous food - Edit
We ate here after watching the Tour de France in York - they had an excellent selection of vegan food, the Portobello burger with smoked tofu was succulent and tasty and highly recommended. The cakes looked fabulous, so I had to follow it with coffee and poppy seed cake.
Everyone was really friendly and the prices were reasonable, I'd love to go again, but alas it is over 150 miles away from where we live.
Highly recommended!
Pros: Great food, Great atmosphere, Good prices
Cons: Too far away from where I live

Fantastic Cafe - Edit
My husband and I have eaten at the Goji cafe twice; once last year and once on 27 April 2014. Both times we enjoyed the food and there are always plenty of vegan options. The food is very fresh and well-presented, although sometimes the portions are a bit small. Both times we didn't have much time, and service was slower than we would have anticipated for such a small cafe and so few customers, so we had to inhale our food, but it was still good nonetheless. It's great to have a vegan/vegetarian restaurant choice in York.
Pros: quality food, all vegan and vegetarian
Cons: slow service
