Gutted that they are stopping the vegan kitchen from the end of August 2025. I had the tofish and chips and it was delicious, very good portion and very reasonable prices.

Great vegan pub! - Edit
So lovely to find a totally vegan pub!💚 Food was really yummy, big portions and affordable (20% discount). We had the doner and fish and chips. Apple juice was yummy. Ubfortunately they don't have milkshakes any more and just a brownie as dessert. They have a cool roof terrace and cosy interior. :)

Delish - Edit
Lovely to visit again in warmer weather. Had the doner party flatbread. Not sure 8m being a wuss today but the sauce was very spicey (are the chilli fine!) so if you prefer medium spice ask for less sauce. Buffalo wings were spot on. A real gem!

Now situated in Hockley emporium, a cool vegan cafe. We enjoyed an Unholy smokes burger and Cauli tacos.

We're with the band - Edit
The Golden Fleece is a great dog friendly spot for vegan junk food. We went during happy hour (5-7pm) and got to try a good mix from the menu. The Doner fries and kimchi fries were top-tier, and the Buffalo Soldier seitan wings were insanely good. The fish tacos were decent but nothing standout, and the mac ‘n’ cheese was underwhelming. The cauliflower wings weren’t bad, just not as exciting as the seitan ones. Overall, a solid choice for vegan junk food and a chill pub vibe!

The best all-vegan menu I've seen for some time. - Edit
Such an incredible menu that we'll need to come back several times. We visited on a Sunday and enjoyed the roast dinner - a dish where every part shouts out rather than being accompaniments to the main.

Amazing pub - Edit
This place is my top recommendation for Nottingham. I loved the greek pizza with feta and tzatsiki. The fish burger was nice but not my favourite and I loves the Mac and cheese but the portion is quite small. We went back again because we loved it so much. The pie dish on Sunday was amazing with the cauliflower cheese (my favourite thing)and the wrap was great. Highly recommend going here.

Quiz Meal - Edit
Really liked my battered sausage, chips, beans dish and my friend had the tofish tacos which she liked. However, my other two friends had the seitan burger and the normal tacos and weren’t that keen, and neither was I after trying a bite. I love that they have a large vegan menu but I’m not sure I would go back to eat there. We went to go to the quiz but they had changed the start time and there was no communication about this online that we could see.
Read moreI was also sick later that night, I can’t blame the food here as none of my friends were unwell but I am also not sure what else would have triggered this.

Still open? - Edit
I tried this place a few months ago and it was excellent. Today it's closed even though HC app says open. I notice in reviews I'm not the first to have such experience here. I also phoned the HC listed number, but it's out of service. Is it still in business?

Visited on a weekend away. Nice atmosphere, dog friendly and excellent food. Particular highlights were the thyme and garlic fries and the tofish tacos, but it was all tasty. Would definitely eat here again if visiting Nottingham

Great food! - Edit
I visited on the day the cafe opened and several times since and it’s always a pleasure to visit. The food is cooked/prepared fresh, you can see them making your food at the counter. They have a good selection available on the menu with choices to satisfy everyone. The staff are welcoming, remembering me from my first visit and give a friendly welcome. Parking on street outside is a bonus (it is payable).

Completely disappointed - Edit
Always wanted to visit prickly pear. Instagram posts always show off amazing food and a friend of mine recommended as well.
Read moreBut the food we received was so poor. My bun wasn't toasted like it says on the menu. My seitan burger wasnt particularly tasty, the picked onions were way too overpowering. The BBQ sauce was so little compared to what the menu seemed to say it would be.
My partner's wrap was always average and again not toasted. Fries were ok.
The Mac and cheese as you can see in the photo was so dry, which was really off putting.
I'm honestly shocked at the meal. We spent about 45 quid which honestly was super disappointing for what we received.
I don't know if this was just an off day or what but sadly I won't be returning even though the staff who served us were lovely!

I have been eating at Prickly Pear for years, but I think this has been my favourite dish! It was huge! My daughter had the facon pancakes, she isn't vegan but she said they were fab.

But today they had a 'specials' board up which is always good to check out (it was quesadilla today which was incredible) a lot of their food has a fresh homemade and 'healthy' feel while still satisfying the 'pub grub' itch 😁
