Great for Vegans in Vienna
There is a good range of food for vegans including excellent deserts. We went twice while in Vienna. We enjoyed vegan antipasti, fitness salad, vegan wiener schnitzel, various bruschetta, as well as lovely desserts - tiramisu, moronitorte and chocolate torte. All freshly prepared. Good portion size. Very tasty food. Good value for money. I recommend the Bio Bar.
58 Mosley St, Manchester, England
This is in a great location, and the restaurant itself in well appointed, comfortable and has a great ambience. Staff are friendly and attentive.
The food is okay, and quite creative. But the portions are tiny, and the mains come alone. Vegetables, salads, potatoes are all extra - so the main can look rather lonely, and also this means that the meals are not well-balanced. Prices, seem okay, but when you come away not really feeling satisfied (and a little peckish too), then it feels expensive.
Probably a good place for a special treat, if you have a small appetite or are on a diet.

Lovely, Friendly Cafe
This is a bright and cheerful cafe. The food is 100% vegan. We had a lunch of Pumpkin Soup - scrummy, Lebanese Moussaka with salad . . . absolutely delicious. Somehow, we found room for Chocolate Cake - the best I have tasted so far in a cafe/restaurant.
Very friendly . . . wished we had had time to go back, and will next time we are in Lisbon.
Bolhão 221-D/E, Porto, Portugal
Visited Beringela for the first time, and enjoyed a good lunch there. Vegan-friendly. The staff are friendly too. Spacious and comfortable. Worth a visit.

Wow! Molho de Brocolos is a short walk from the centre of Coimbra, but well worth it. Most of the food is vegan and organic. Meals freshly prepared, well-balanced, and the food titilates the tastebuds deliciously. We enjoyed a really exquisite lunch here, satisfying, and with a bottle of organic wine - fantastic. But, that's not all - the desserts are simply sensational . . . so many to choose from, and so scrummy. Highly recommended - so sorry that I don't live near Coimbra. The welcome was very friendly too. If I could I would give Molho de Brocolos 6 out of 5!

We had an evening meal here twice . . . the food is good. Staff are friendly. But it was freezing cold and nearly everyone was wearing coats. Not comfortable to linger over a meal. Portions OK. Recommend a visit.
Rua de Olivença, 9,2 - 35L, Galerias Topazio, Loja 3, Coimbra, Portugal
Simple, nourishing food.
First time at Menu Verde. It is self-service style. Two of the three main courses were vegan, and the staff clearly understood what vegan food is.
The food was nourishing, tasty and incredibly good value.
Would recommend if you are in Coimbra.
I am not sure if the staff speak English, I speak Portuguese, but 'Vegan' is generally understood to mean Vegan.
56-58 St. Mary Street, Edinburgh, Scotland
I usually eat at Banns if I am in Edinburgh, through lack of other options. Banns has little variety for vegans, and the menu has hardly changed (and not improved) in years. The portions are city size (that is on the small size). But the food always tastes good.

Canteen Style Food - Good Shop
The restaurant serves canteen style food with a canteen style attitude. Lunch was slopped onto a plate with little care, pride or attention. I had a pie . . . which really wasn't that good. I would say, as a vegan, that the food is adequate but lazy, and because of this it feels slightly overpriced too. Staff attitude - indifferent, uninterested.
Pç Ilha Faial, 14A, Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal
Friendly & Good Food
Just went a couple of times for a late evening snack in the cafe, there is also a restaurant.
Food is vegetarian, so check for vegan food. Easy, relaxed atmosphere, food tasty, good value too.
64 Market St, Ulverston, England
Gillam's is a lovely traditional tea room. Very friendly. It is vegetarian and mostly organic, with a good choice for vegans. The food is freshly prepared and delicious. The tea is fantastic. Good value for money. Very popular, so you may have to wait for a table at busy times - but this is worth doing.
Albert St, Hebden Bridge, England
A great cafe in Hebden Bridge. Options for vegans. Friendly staff . . . just what you want.
Hollergasse 9, Wien, Vienna, Austria
Vegan Food near the Schonbrunn Palace!
We walked from the Schonnbrun Palace to the Hollerei - about 10-15 minutes. The food looks and tastes good, although the choice for vegans is limited. We had taboulleh, spring rolls and the noodles. Fresh and enjoyable. Portions on the small side - 'nouveau cuisine', and so felt a little expensive! Smoothies good and freshly made. Indifferent staff.
Calçada do Sacramento 36, Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal
We had both a lunch and a dinner here (different days). The food is mostly vegan, but check if you are not sure. Staff are very friendly.
It is a buffet style, and you can go back for more, as often as you like, Easy relaxed atmosphere. The food is healthy, tasty and satisfying . . . Absolutely delicious.
Oh, and it is extremely good value for money . . .
Rua Cais das Naus Lt. 4.01.01 - i, Lisbon, Portugal
This was the first place we at in Lisbon, as we arrived at Oriente Station.
We happened to be there during Vegan Week . . . so that made our choices simple! The food was excellent, and if you cannot choose we were offered a mixed plate of the main courses, and also the desserts . . . For me, and I have a hearty appetite, the portions were huge!
If you do visit the Parque das Naçaµes, make sure you take lunch here . . .
Mariahilferstraße 45, Vienna, Austria
Simply Delicious Vegan Food
Please Note: Nice Rice is down a Lane called 'Raimundhof' just off 45 Mariahilferstrasse. We enjoyed koftas with rice and sauce, and a fresh side salad. Very delicious and well-prepared. Also soya milk available for tea! It was a good meal and very satisfying. Value for money and the portion size good. The Viennese addiction to smoking, however, still surprises.
Rua S. Miguel, 19, Porto, Portugal
Tricky to find - but worth it!
It is near the Clerigos Tower, but not that near. Look for Rua de Sao bento da Vitoria, and head downhill, nearly to the bottom, it is delightful, and Rua de Sao Miguel is on your right, and the restaurant is along here. It is unusual, as we arrived in the shop and were asked to pay for our meal before going downstairs to the restaurant. It was a set meal, and very delicious, balanced, and the portions are good too. To be recommended.
Rua do Salitre, 117, Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal
Had a quick lunch here, on the way to the metro before heading home, so we only had soup and a main.
The soup was delicious, carrot & spinach, and the main was brown rice and roasted vegetables. There were no vegan desserts on the day we were there.
Hearty, healthy food. It was getting very busy by 1.00pm when we left, so perhaps aim to get there early at 12.15 . . . to make sure . . .
