Orgasmic Vegan Burger

10 Feb 2013

Hands-down the best place to get a vegan cheese burger in the WORLD. I'm not kidding. If you are in Austin you must try the bacon cheeseburger. The tacos are excellent to as well as the BBQ burger. Just do it. Bring an empty belly. And if you need fries the truck park next door has sweet potato fries!!

Vegan Pancakes!!

11 Nov 2010

I only went here for breakfast and enjoyed a delicious mixed fruit shake and vegan banana cinnamon pancake. I went early at 8:30am, service was fine and I was super happy to have a pancake with maple syrup after traveling for 2 months without a good vegan breakfast in sight. Reasonable prices. Grabbed their one vegan pastry, apple strudel, and it was tasty too.

The best vegan treats in town!

01 Aug 2013

We are so blessed to have Capital City Bakery. She has the best vegan treats in town! There isn't one thing that I tried that I didn't like! I can't wait for the new location where she'll have an even bigger selection and some gluten-free, naturally sweetened treats too!

Healthy breads

24 Oct 2010

This bakery has the healthiest breads and pastries you can find in town. They are made in the macrobiotic style, all vegan, no sugar, no processed foods. Kind of expensive though. The staff is super nice and let's you sample many of the breads. No place to sit inside so more of a take-away place.

Delicious Mexican food!

15 Jun 2011

I was happy to stumble upon Bee's Enchiladas and to find out they had SO many vegan options. The staff is super helpful, letting me try each vegan sauce on a tortillas chip to see which one I liked (and to see which were spicy because I'm a wimp!). The sauces are probably the best sauces I've ever had!! The food is very fresh, healthy, does weigh you down like most Mexican food does.

We had the vegan special which was sweet potato that day, and the tofu and quinoa enchilada. Both were delish! Also had chips and salsa, loved their salsa!

My only complaint is that I do think it's a bit expensive for what you get. I mean the enchiladas themselves are large but when you add on guac, and beans and rice, and maybe a drink it really starts to add up.

I don't like that they use Styrofoam and plastic wear. They do offer a biodegradable plate for a small charge, but they really should just use those all the time!

I loved this cafe! Easy to find, great atmosphere, plenty of tables, super nice staff, healthy food at reasonable prices. Went with the special lunch set that had the eggplant tofu dish with brown rice 1000yen. Excellent in every where. Had the pumpkin dessert and it seriously was one of the best desserts I've had in my life!

Adorable and delish!

24 Oct 2010

I adore this place! The owner is awesome, there are cat photos and cat stuff all over this whole in the wall with bar seating only, and the sweetest cat who hangs around. Set meal had so much food I was stuffed, one of the best miso soups I've had in my life, full of veggies. Brown rice and 3 or 4 other veggie dishes. Everything amazing. Traditional Japanese, very macrobiotic, all vegan. Heaven!

Just OK

24 Oct 2010

The time is wrong, I think it should say 11:30AM. This is a tiny little cafe with a very small menu. I had the curry, which didn't look like the photo at all. It was actually a chickpea curry that was mostly onion with a few undercooked chickpeas with white rice. It was only 600yen, priced about right. I probably wouldn't go back.

Love it!

24 Oct 2010

I was caught in a rain storm and hung out at Marche for a bit. I didn't eat food, just had tea and tiramisu which was delish. Food and desserts made in the macrobiotic style, so don't expect the dessert to be sweet like in the US. Somewhat expensive. Nice little grocery store with organic and macrobiotic products. Very nice staff, many tables so would be good for a group.

So glad that CC exists!

27 Jun 2012

I couldn't be more thrilled that Counter Culture has a brick and mortar now offering more delicious vegan eats! The menu is diverse with many gluten-free, raw, and oil-free choices. There is something for everyone and rotating specials. You can get anything from philly cheesesteak sandwich to mac n' cheese or raw ravioli on the lighter side. Portions are hearty and prices affordable. The weekend brunch is really delicious (french toast and omelet our of this world!) and Sue often has dj's, which is a nice touch! Great patio too!

Adorable cafe!

11 Nov 2010

I adore this place, but I only had breakfast there. The menu looks amazing though, so you must go!! Great smoothies with spirulina but they are kind of expensive. Such a great thing they have going on there with the school.

The best in Thailand

03 May 2011

I've eaten vegan food all over Thailand and the lunch buffet at Khun Churn is hands-down the best food in all of Thailand. It might just be my fave restaurant in the whole world. The buffet is HUGE and for under $4?!?! Can't beat it! Food is fresh, perfectly cooked, not overly spicy, awesome. Not everything is vegan though so be sure to check. The garden patio and atmosphere is nice too and pleasant to be away from the busy city center. Take one of the red trucks to get there, it should only be 30 baht so don't pay more!

Best Value in Town

24 Oct 2010

You get a large plate of food with many different choices and it's the best deal in town. The food I had was just alright and not quite warm, but I was happy to be filling my belly with cheap vegan food. It's more of a take-away place, they have about 8-10 seats along the wall.

Great and cheap!

24 Oct 2010

Went for lunch buffet. SO many choices it's overwhelming. Filled my plate, cost maybe 5RM. Easy to find, lots of tables, great location off 101 bus, delicious food.

Best vegan cafe in Canggu!

31 Mar 2016

There aren't many fully vegan cafes in Canggu so this is a wonderful place to not worry about egg or meat in your food. The menu is an excellent array of foods from salads, burgers, sammies, and amazing drinks and smoothies. I had the Be Strong smoothie and the "chicken" burger which came with the most delicious sweet potato fries. Definitely check it out!

The best place in town!

11 Nov 2010

Don't know what that other reviewer is talking about, Pun Pun is hands down the best veg cafe in town (and I'm a chef, very picky about my food, and tried every place in town). Inventive menu items, all priced 30-60 baht which is the cheapest price in town (other than a hawker stall), all organic, good portion size, and beautiful setting in the temple grounds.

I went twice (one time stayed for 3 hours, we just kept ordering and eating), tried the salad with fried flowers with avocado dressing (to die for!), sweet and sour tofu, green curry, another salad, papaya salad, another salad with their homemade black sesame tofu, spring rolls which were very tasty, lemongrass tea. Everything YUM! See my photos :)

One of my favorite places in Barcelona!

27 Sep 2015

The menu is a bit small but what they have available is carefully planned and more unique than many restaurants in BCN. I had the veggie gyoza and tempeh/eggplant satay. Both cooked to perfection and delicious. My friends had amazing cocktails like a Black Mojito made with licorice liquor. The atmosphere is nice and inside is stylish. Highly recommend, just be sure to make a reservation or go on the earlier side to get a table.

One of my favorite meals in Barcelona

15 Sep 2015

One of my favorite meals in Barcelona. I loved the variety of vegan items on the menu. Much better if you can go with others to try more things. We got the nachos (delish!!), tempura (just okay, included green onion which was hardly edible), and the big hit was the tempeh and pumpkin salad. If you don't order a drink or dessert you can get out of there for about 15 Euro, but it can get much more expensive! Their cold pressed juices are some of the best I've ever had so definitely get some to-go!
