Lucky enough for there to be space for us to walk in and have brunch. The breakfast platter with sunny side "egg" is a game changer. Great flavours, good size servings and very friendly service. Can't wait to return.

Not disappointed

I had huge expectations and I can say that it was beyond. The plates were full of delicious flavors. I had the chance to try the poutine as a special du jour. OMG! The dessert and the goji latte are must have too. Our brunch was perfect.

Amazing!! Don't think twice, just get there! :-)

Absolutely delicious food. The eggs benedict were amazing, the complimentary "butter and cheese" popcorn is incredible, and the take our fridge will have you wanting to buy everything. Plus, the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Mind blown

I had the brunch platter, and I was blown away by the yummy yolks on the fried "eggs." Moppable and perfect when pierced! The variety and quantity of items on the platter were fantastic--2 eggs, toast, tempeh bacon, home fries, greens, a bowl of chili... so satisfying. The popcorn was a delightful starter, and the chocolate tea was really good.

Pros: Scrumptious, Easy free parking in lot behind restaurant, Super nice servers

Cons: None

Went for brunch, mind blown!

I went for brunch for my bday and it was amazing. I had the omelet that had caramelized onion and choice cream cheese. It was the best tofu omelet I've ever had. Make a reservation because it's packed!

Delicious healthy food, great service!

Because the hours were wrong on Google, we thought we were arriving an hour before closing on a Friday. Really, we arrived an hour before dinner service began. We were welcomed by the hostess/cashier/server (I think it was Franca?) as if we had been there a thousand times already and were great friends. She made us some hot tea (it was a really cold day) and we snacked on some nibblers from the fridge while we chatted and waited for the dinner service. The dinner was delicious! We got the fondue to start, which was really creamy and tasty and the best not cheese I've ever tried. My husband, who still eats meat on occasion when we go out, ordered the chimichurri tenderloin and was deeply impressed. He said he was amazed at the elevated combination of flavors and it was the best vegan thing he'd ever eaten. I had the Ramen bowl. So good! I have no idea how they did the vegan egg on top. Our 18 month old son loved the mac and cheese. Overall, great meal and great service!

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff

Innovative and delicious

Came here with friends and got to try a variety of dishes for brunch. The place was packed even though it's far from the center which was a surprise at first. Doug has done some amazing things and restaurants around the world should take note.
Check out the photos of the vegan in egg he does in breakfast items... just beautiful.
They also have a number of items packaged to go.
Hope to return one day soon.

Pros: traditional breakfast made vegan, innovative

So Good

The maceroni that they make is out of this world. They also sell a really good vegan lasagna.

Great vegan brunch

Updated after trying their new brunch menu. LOVE the vegan eggs! The yolk is creamy and runny! Definitely go here just to try the eggs. I liked the shakshuka but the benny was great, too. :)

It is a shame they are only open on Sundays for brunch but +1 for accepting reservations. Brunch can be pretty busy anywhere in Toronto and not many restaurants accept reservations, so that's awesome. Furthermore, since it is so busy, I recommend making reservations so you are not disappointed. The first time we went people were overflowing and we had takeaway instead. Otherwise, the tofu scramble platter is overflowing and delicious. The eggs benny is nice although I didn't really care for the hollandaise sauce. Also, definitely check out the foods for takeaway. Doug's mac and cheese is phenomenal.

Gourmet Brunch ^_^

I've come to Doug McNish's public kitchen twice for brunch now with my sister. His food is FANTASTIC! He does excellent vegan gourmet, and I'm shocked at how realistic his vegan "egg" looks and tastes! He's just a genius with food chemistry, but moreover, everything has a very healthy, but filling and satisfying vibe. The portions are fair sized, but the meals are dense, so don't let your eyes get too much bigger than your stomach. So far, I've tried the cinnamon toast crunch smoothie, hot chicory drink, red fife pancakes (a personal favourite of mine), french toast, tofu scramble, tempeh bacon, and vegan sunny-side up "egg." There's really nothing to complain about other than the price, but that is to be expected for such chefy presentation and high quality ingredients.

Pros: Delicious Food, Gourmet, Unique and Innovative Creations

Cons: Limited Seating, Expensive

Good healthy vegan food.

Public kitchen has great salads for takeout along with a number of dishes that you can take for dinner. They have eat in lunch with a very limited selection (usually two options) but very good. Organic. Often raw. Great brunch. I have not been for their Friday dinner. Doug is really really nice.

Pros: Organic, Healthy, Delicious

Cons: Limited selection
