Innovative and delicious - Edit
Came here with friends and got to try a variety of dishes for brunch. The place was packed even though it's far from the center which was a surprise at first. Doug has done some amazing things and restaurants around the world should take note.
Check out the photos of the vegan in egg he does in breakfast items... just beautiful.
They also have a number of items packaged to go.
Hope to return one day soon.
Pros: traditional breakfast made vegan, innovative

So Good - Edit
The maceroni that they make is out of this world. They also sell a really good vegan lasagna.

Great vegan brunch - Edit
Updated after trying their new brunch menu. LOVE the vegan eggs! The yolk is creamy and runny! Definitely go here just to try the eggs. I liked the shakshuka but the benny was great, too. :)
It is a shame they are only open on Sundays for brunch but +1 for accepting reservations. Brunch can be pretty busy anywhere in Toronto and not many restaurants accept reservations, so that's awesome. Furthermore, since it is so busy, I recommend making reservations so you are not disappointed. The first time we went people were overflowing and we had takeaway instead. Otherwise, the tofu scramble platter is overflowing and delicious. The eggs benny is nice although I didn't really care for the hollandaise sauce. Also, definitely check out the foods for takeaway. Doug's mac and cheese is phenomenal.

Gourmet Brunch ^_^ - Edit
I've come to Doug McNish's public kitchen twice for brunch now with my sister. His food is FANTASTIC! He does excellent vegan gourmet, and I'm shocked at how realistic his vegan "egg" looks and tastes! He's just a genius with food chemistry, but moreover, everything has a very healthy, but filling and satisfying vibe. The portions are fair sized, but the meals are dense, so don't let your eyes get too much bigger than your stomach. So far, I've tried the cinnamon toast crunch smoothie, hot chicory drink, red fife pancakes (a personal favourite of mine), french toast, tofu scramble, tempeh bacon, and vegan sunny-side up "egg." There's really nothing to complain about other than the price, but that is to be expected for such chefy presentation and high quality ingredients.
Pros: Delicious Food, Gourmet, Unique and Innovative Creations
Cons: Limited Seating, Expensive

Good healthy vegan food. - Edit
Public kitchen has great salads for takeout along with a number of dishes that you can take for dinner. They have eat in lunch with a very limited selection (usually two options) but very good. Organic. Often raw. Great brunch. I have not been for their Friday dinner. Doug is really really nice.
Pros: Organic, Healthy, Delicious
Cons: Limited selection
