Delicious Meal

11 Mar 2014

We had lunch at Field of Greens on August 29th 2013 while passing through Houston. It was highly recommended by an 'almost vegan' friend.

Food was delicious, selection/choices nice. The restaurant is large with lots of seating. WiFi accommodations.

Service was friendly and quick.

Delicious Food and Wonderful Smoothies/Drinks

11 Mar 2014

We found Green Seed Vegan during a trip through Houston in September 2013. We had delicious freshly prepared smoothies and delicious sandwiches; also freshly prepared.

Service was excellent, the staff very friendly and accommodating. Everything was clean/neat. The place is on the small/intimate side.

Definitely one of the better places we dined while in Houston.

Great Place to Eat in Asheville

09 Aug 2014

I had heard of and wanted to try the Laughing Seed Cafe in downtown Asheville. It was also highly recommended by several friends so we decided to have a bit of a late lunch/early-dinner. Well we were not disappointed. I had a sort of combination bowl (hot/warm) called the Harmony Bowl – Excellent! A LOT of food. Nancy had a veg-burger that was just OK. The best was the Jalapeno Onion Fries; try some!

Love It

11 Mar 2014

We have eaten at Loving Hut several times, mostly at the Sunday Buffet. It is a great deal and delicious food. Service can be an issue but understandable with the small staff and often jammed tables. Prices are reasonable and the food delicious.

Good Indian Food - Vegan Friendly

31 Aug 2013

If you are Vegan it is hard to find a place to eat in the Southern USA off Interstate 10 through Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. We stopped at a Howard Johnson for overnight and found Masala via Happy Cow.

Service was very good, prices were very high for what we had but the food was good. Disappointing 'pickle' as they only had one selection (I love Orange Pickle) and it was too salty to eat.

Appetizers were good, main courses tasty if a bit bland. Presentation left a lot to be desired and only white rice was available.

If you are desperate to eat, this is an option for Vegans.

Great Selection of Vegan Foods and Great Coffee

27 Jan 2014

We visited Manzanita and found this great Health Food Grocery store. The selection was much better than ANYTHING in the area, including all the way North to Seaside.

The people are very friendly and helpful. Limited selection of vegan cheese but they did have some.

One of the best Vegan Resturants anywhere!

11 Mar 2014

On September 6, 2013 we were on our Vegan Road Trip USA and stopped near Austin to visit a friend. We found Mother's Cafe with Happy Cow and were thrilled with the lunch we enjoyed. It was SO good that we returned for dinner the same day. If we had stayed longer, we would have eaten here every meal. Service was excellent, décor is nice with a bubbling fountain. The food/menu variety is amazing and difficult to choose from all the variety.

Delicious Meal

11 Mar 2014

We were passing through the Sedona area and got hungry. We found Picazzo's and stopped. All organic but not all vegan. There are several delicious vegan pizza selections on the menu and we enjoyed every bite. Friendly service and attentive to detail. Happy to serve us our Vegan choice!

When you are on the road, finding a decant place that serves a delicious vegan meal can be hard to find!

Dinner at Plant - 5/18/2014

09 Aug 2014

Dinner at Plant – The restaurant is not far from the downtown area so easy to get to. Located in a pretty nondescript building (mostly gray) with a simple sign: PLANT. There is limited outdoor seating and not an over abundance inside. Make reservations!

We were greeted pleasantly and the service was excellent. As I love plantains, I really was looking forward to their Fried Plantains. We also wanted to try some other appetizers so also ordered the Iron Skillet Olives and the Roasted Jerusalem Artichokes. Well the olives in a hot skillet were interesting, nothing to get worked up about; just olives. The Artichokes were good but not spectacular. Now the Plantains, Those WERE Spectacular. I could have just done a few orders of those for dinner but held off. While the main menu was lovely and the presentations on neighboring tables looked great, we both decided on the Applewood Smoked Porto'House for our main course. That was DELICIOUS!

For desert, I had the Blackout Pie of peanut butter fudge! YUM. Nancy had the Blondie which was also very good.
After this we were pretty stuffed and left with a quick goodbye and compliments to Jason Sellers the chef!

Great General Health Food Store - Seaside Oregon

27 Jan 2014

We were staying in Cannon Beach (10/16/2013) and had few choices to find any vegan dining so, since we had a full kitchen, found Seaside Health Foods a great place to shop. They have a nice selection of canned and a few frozen vegan selections (not everything vegan). The cereal bins offered a great variety of healthy choices for breakfast.

The owner/proprietress was gracious and helpful.

We will definitely return on our next visit to the area; hopefully very soon.

Great Option for Vegan's on the Road

31 Aug 2013

We ate here two evenings while staying with our non-Vegan friend in Houston. Great salad selections and food, Vegan items clearly labelled. Selection could be better; only one vegan soup but it was delicious. In the Ft. Meyers location they had a wonderful Vegan 'bean soup' but it was not available in Houston, only the Italian Minestrone but worth a second bowl.

NO Vegan butter options or salad dressings so we brought our own for the bread and baked potatoes! No one seemed to mind.

The Only Vegan Spot on Sanibel Island

06 Mar 2014

We visited Sanibel Island during our road trip to the Ft. Myers Beach Florida area. Using our trusty Happy Cow application we were pleasantly surprised to find The Sanibel Sprout.

This lovely little shop has a variety of things including prepared vegan (mostly raw) meals and a wonderful Smoothie Bar. Small but very accommodating.

We arrived after the normal lunch hour but Niki, the proprietor was gracious enough to prepare us a fresh 'raw' Mexican salad. Delicious. We started with a couple of excellent smoothies (SO good!) and browsed while our salads were prepared.

If you visit Sanibel Island, we encourage you to visit and have Niki make you a delicious Smoothie. It will make your day; especially after hiking in the nearby Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge!

Decent but way over priced

11 Mar 2014

We were passing through Las Vegan on our way to Zion National park to do some hiking. We had heard of the Sinatra an it's vegan menu so wanted to try it out.

We were on a 9700 mile road trip across the Western States and were having difficulty finding vegan selections; mostly cooking/eating in our room from our cooler/supplies we carried with us.

The Sinatra is georgous for sure, loacated in the Winn Hotel. The Cassino is beautiful. The dining room festooned with pictures of Frank Sinatra. Service is attentative and excellent.

The menu choices, while limited are not bad. The food is good but nothing we couldn't fix at home. They used Gardein products (which we love) but served in an uncreative way. Sure it was vegan but Nancy fixed better tasting meals in our hotel room.

The prices were exorbitant considering the small portion of frozen/prepared Gardein products served. Not very imaginative, poorly seasoned and well, just ordinary.

Visit the Casino at the Winn, peek into the Restaurant but don't go for the food.
