Best Vegan Resto in Town

Love this restaurant. They have two vegan locations, and 1 vegan/vegetarian location. They have both western and thai food. Although I much prefer the thai food since I did come to Thailand for that. I tried so many things on their menu and all was good. Banana blossum salad, pad see ew, massaman curry, pumpkin curry, pumpkin stir fry, khao soi, ice cream. All delicious.

Pros: Delicious, big variety, good portions

Cons: more expensive, but reasonable

So many options it's hard to chose!

Many many Thai dishes, photos on menu, it all looks delicious! I had the Panang and was super happy. Just the mango smoothie could have a higher ratio of mango to ice.

The name says it all..

Ate here many times. decent starters and nice curries! If you need your comfort food fix then i recommend :). Burgers are quite large and tasty. The hot dog is lacking toppings but went back for another a week later! I will say, their Brownie in not a Brownie but rather a piece of chocolate cake..
I went hungover once and had the pad thai with extra chilli and a side of veg mayo..Naughty and delish!

Pros: all vegan, clean

Vegan chicken burger and brownie

Best vegan burger I've ever had - the vegan fried chicken burger. And the brownie with ice cream is delicious too!

Lots of choice

Ate here twice, as it was near our hostel. Everything we had was good and lots of selection - hotdog, duck curry (definitely recommend this), spicy stir fry, Khao Soi, and brownie with coconut ice cream (treat yo self!). The service was friendly.

Decent

This restaurant has decent food, but definitely not the best in Chiang Mai. My biggest complaint is that I wish they had more healthy options.

The best place to be in Chiang Mai.

I had once more the possibility to spend many weeks in Chiang Mai. And as a vegetarian "Taste from Heaven" was in the past years and will hopefully be in the future "My favorite place to spend time with great Food and great and very friendly stuff and a great Nan (Owner of the Restaurant). I always felt very welcome and as I mentioned as someone with 30 years experience as a vegetarian you will love this place even if you are not a vegetarian or a vegan Person.

Pros: excellent food, great stuff and great Owner, reasonable prices for that what you get.

Cons: Chairs are a little bit uncomfortable , Nothing more

Dissapointing

The waiters were friendly but the food was not worth it.
I had a soup tasting like water for 70 bath . My friend had the chicken burger which was made without any love. Bread , two vegan chicken stripes one little piece of lettuce and a minimal amount of mayo.
I wouldnt recommend this :/

Pros: 100% vegan

Cons: expensive

All vegan but a bit sterile

This restaurant has two branches by the founder behind Taste From Heaven. The three basically have identical menus, except that the Vegan Heaven ones obviously only serves the vegan alternatives. The prices are decent, and I did enjoy the mock-chicken wrap.

What brings this place down is the interiors. Painted in fluorescent orange and green with veg-prone celebrity quotes adorning the walls it all feels a bit sterile... Along with the music that is far too "hip" (a crash course on how to feel old: use the word hip!) for a pleasant dining experience. (Except perhaps when they have Westlife blasting out of the speakers! #90sgirl)

I would also avoid the Khao Soi; the broth tastes alright but unless soggy mushroom balls are your jam - go elsewhere or try to opt for another filling.

Pros: 100% vegan

Cons: interiors sterile

Been waiting forever for this

Wow YUM. Got off a 10 hour sleepless bus ride and needed some vegan goodness on the asap. Tried their big breaky with added mushrooms and avocado and it did not disappoint. My partner had he muesli and loved it. Smoothies good too and everything was affordable price. Can’t wait to try the other dishes

Pros: big variety , good price , all vegan

disapointed

I gave this place 2 tries.

First I had the Hamburger and fries. The patty was mushy and would not stick together. All I kept thinking was I need to teach them to make a proper patty..the fries were a small amount and cold when I got them...the price was fair..100 or 110 BHT. But I have been eating at markets and could get a fabulous meal for 40-50bht.

Service was less than fabulous. Took order..brought order..not interaction, no asking if I would like anything more.

I wanted to give this place another try, perhaps it was an off night..This time I had a curry with rice. similar price..nothing fabulous.

Sorry but Veganism is such a hot topic right now, this is the time to make it shine.

There was a Quote on the wall by ELLEN..well she's not a vegan..turn this place into a jungle...with murals and plants!! You are smack in the middle of hotels and hostiles....I was there for 2 weeks and some of my co-travelers who are not Vegan had mentioned going, but I told them not to..sorry would not send anyone over. made me sad

Pros: good location, all Vegan

Cons: food was blah, service was blah

great menu

It was a busy place with a great vegan menu. The food we had was delicious and it's great what they are doing, however, portion size is quite small so if you have a large appetite don't expect to be completely full. We ordered burger and sweet potato fries which were really tasty but you only had a small handful of chipss and it left me wanting more.

Pros: great selection , good location

Cons: small portions for the cost.

Great Selection

Stayed in Chiang Mai for 9 days and I ate here all 9 days. This place is conveniently located near Old City. They have Thai food, Western food, and even an Indian dish. The staff was very nice and left you to your meal. I tried many of the menu items and thoroughly enjoyed them all!

Pros: Banana Pancake!, Variety

ok food, rude and slow service

Ok-ish food. Scrambled egg was really inedible with a heavy turmeric taste. Service was super slow and when asked, the waitresses were rude. Want to support vegan restaurants wherever I go, but not coming back here again nor would I recommend.

Pros: fully vegan

Cons: service, quality

Was just Ok

We had many expectations with this restaurant, and if this was the first restaurant we had been in Chiang Mai it would have been great. But the bar in the city is quite high, so we felt a little underwhelmed with the food. The staff was very nice and the menu has many options, but we just felt the overall quality was not worth the prices, based on other options in town.

Pros: Good menu options, Nice staff

Cons: Food overall taste, Prices, Location

Nice, but a little pricey

My partner and I have eaten here a few times. Twice for breakfast and once for lunch.
Their iced coffee drinks are lovely and can be made with soya or coconut milk. My firm favourite was the mochacino with coconut milk and a little less ice. Absolutely divine, but a little on the expensive side. Great for a treat on a hot day!
The western breakfast is good with great meat substitutes for bacon and sausage, which had a slightly smokey/hot dog feel to it. The tofu scrambled egg was good, not the best I’ve had, but not bad at all. The rest of the breakfast; mushrooms tomatoes, hash browns, baked beans and toast are all as expected. It also comes with tea or coffee and a small glass of orange juice (not fresh). For 180 B, it’s a little on the expensive side, but a pleasant enough meal. You can also order pancakes, oatmeal etc, which is cheaper.
There is also a large selection of lunch and dinner dishes; western and Thai. My partner and I tried the Khao Soi, Gyoza and Green Curry all of which was 6/10 when taking into account, flavour, substance and price.

Pros: Good variety, Good portion size

Cons: A little expensive, 2. Flavour could be better

Delicious Vegan Food

My very first meal in Chiang Mai was dinner at Vegan Heaven and it didn't disappoint

We tried the:
1. Sushi 80 Baht
Nori sheets, carrot, cucumber, red pepper, beetroot (according to the menu but I didn't see any red pepper or beetroot) and cucumber served with soy sauce, wasabi and young pickled ginger.

I think it was real wasabi. Super hot but I loved it. Also the pickled ginger tasted authentic and homemade.

2. Hor Mok in Coconut (Gluten-free) 130 Baht
Thai-style red curry cooked in fresh coconut with red curry paste, coconut milk, coconut meat, coconut juice, tofu, mushroom and sweet basil leaves topped with sliced kaffir lim leaves and sliced chilli.

We totally enjoyed this. Glad we ordered this super yummy dish.

3. Steamed Jasmine Brown Rice (20 Baht) & Black Rice (25 Baht).

4. For dessert, I wanted something so light so we went with Vanilla and Chocolate Ice Cream. I didn't enjoy this that much as I'm used to using real vanilla beans and the vanilla tasted a bit artificial. But Mr Jazz Guitarist enjoyed both flavours. 30 Baht per ice cream.

It took 30 mins for the food to be served and I was soooo hungry! I've also watched a YouTube video where they said the same thing so I guess you should be prepared to wait...or go during off peak. We were there just before 8.30pm and food only arrived at 9pm.

They did respond to my Facebook posting about the timing saying: I tell my ktichen staff to never rush, good food takes time to prepare and sometimes we have a lot of takeaway orders that can overwhelm us. We do our best to satisfy our customers always. Thank you again and we hope to see you again!

I wouldn't have minded if there were signs in the shop and on the menu that there's going to be a longer waiting time as food is prepared fresh so perhaps this is something they can do :)

Pros: Extensive menu - I wanted to order everything, Delicious food

Cons: Long waiting time.

Very good at fake meat

Im vegan for 4 years now and unlike many other vegans i really liked the taste of meat and cheese and still miss it. so it's no surprise that something as close to the real thing as can be would be very tempting for me. i ordered the chicken burger with a side of bacon and my wife had the regular burger and a side of scrambled egg. my dish was heaven, the bacon was so real to me i thought maybe they made a mistake and gave me real bacon. the chicken burger was really good too, crispy and well seasoned. my wife's dish on the other hand was so so. for desserts we had the waffle with ice cream and chocolate cake. both were super tasty. hands down, best vegan food in Chiang mai !

Pros: lots of vegan options, amazing fake bacon, overall good food

Overrated?

It's great to have a dedicated vegan place but I'm not sure the quality of some dishes is so good. I had pad Thai which was a pretty small portion & a tomato ketchup type of sauce. Not impressed. My partner likes western food & enjoyed the full breakfast, complete with fake bacon, sausage & eggs. The coffee was excellent. Personally, I'd go back to 'Mild' around the corner. My partner would take the breakfast again.

Pros: Excellent coffee, Excellent fake meat for those who like that kinda

Cons: I wouldn't risk the Thai food again - go somewhere
