great value

we have been to its sister restaurant a number of times and were delighted to find this less than five minutes walks away. The menu is the same as taste from heaven so the same extensive menu and the same problem of what to choose for breakfast, lunch or dinner, it is all good. We have been a number of times and really like this bigger and quieter restaurant where you can get a seat at night, If you are in the centre of Chiang Mai and can't get a seat at the other restaurant or are staying close by, do give this a visit and try something new on the menu.

Pros: extensive menu, quality of food, good wine

Great

The meal came out nice and quick, the flavors of the Penang curry were great. The brownie and vanilla ice cream were delicious

Reliable

If you need a vegan safe bet this is the place in Chiang Mai center. Thai food was ok at best, western food - sandwiches and hotdogs were great. There is however one big let down - I saw a big pile of eggs in the kitchen. The place claims to be 100% vegan. I hope someone can explain.

Pros: Good hotdogs

Cons: Eggs in the kitchen ?

Hi Korren,
I am Brett the co-owner of Vegan Heaven. I can assure you that everything on the menu is 100% Vegan however our staff our not. We allow them to eat eggs but not meat at the restaurant. They use their own seperate utensils to prepare their food. Please understand that whilst myself and my partner our Vegan finding other Vegans to work their is an almost impossible ask as we are not legally allowed to hire anyone other than Thai persons.
Thank you for your kind review :-)

Ate here nearly everyday!

My boyfriend and I were in Chiang Mai for over a week and ate here nearly everyday. There was so much choice everything we ordered was delicious. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed every meal.

Pros: loads of vegan options. The brownie was amazing!

So delicious

Really well priced for what you get! Had a chicken burger and tofu for entree, and a hotdog for takeaway which was still very tasty in the morning thanks to how they pack it.

I disagree with you mate because all my mates loved it. You sound like you need more carbs haha. Do you have orthorexia?

Good

An extensive menu with a lot of delicious vegan stuff. Both Thai and western food. Recommend the Soups and juices!
However the porridge I ordered was bad, not ready, tasteless and with minimal toppings. The restroom was pretty bad too but except for that I love the place.

Pros: All vegan, Reasonable prices

Cons: Restroom, Not the cosiest resturant in terms of interior

Vegan Heaven

For our last meal after spending 4 days in Chiang Mai, we decided to come here as Vegan Heaven had very good reviews. I ordered a deep fried mushroom appetizer with a sweet and sour stir fry fish. My wife chose a similar stir fry dish but had no issues with her dish.

The mushrooms tasted okay but once I started on the stir fry dish, something in the sauce didn't taste right (best way to describe it was something tasted like ***?). I continued to eat my entire plate and then went to use the bathroom. I saw the kitchen on the way upstairs to use the bathroom and noticed the unclean state of it.

[edit by staff - see tos]

Rule of thumb. Check the cleanliness of the bathroom before you order your meal. And also, don't eat somewhere that has too many dishes to choose from.

healthy

We were relieved to find an all vegan menu. The pad Thai, samosas, and gyoza were excellent. We found that taste needed attention on a few items like the chicken burger, which didn't have much flavor, and the lemon ice tea, which was too sour to drink. But with the help of their yummy vegan mayonnaise the burger was remedied. Price is very cheap compared to other nearby veggie restaurants.

Amazing

During my stay in chiang Mai I've eaten here maybe 4-5 times and every time was delighted. The food is delicious and at great prices. Sometimes the portions are a little bit small but the prices are cheaper so it makes sense. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and my friend and I loved it so much we just kept coming back for more. Very pleasant atmosphere as well. Overall 10/10

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff , Good value

Cons: Small portions

Vegan Food Done Right

We ate here for brunch and dinner and will no doubt go back several times before leaving Chaing Mai. If you're vegan and in Chaing Mai, this is the place to be. P

Pros: Large menu, lots of options.

Cons: Prices slightly on the high side for what we like

First Vegan Restaurant!! About time!!

This is the first western style sit-down and order fully vegan restaurant in Chiang Mai. It is such a relief not to have to worry about anything at all right down to the condiments - they have vegan mayo and everything. You can expect all the tasty dishes from their sister branch nearby - (Taste From Heaven) except everything here is fully vegan. Vegan cheese, vegan ice-cream, everything you could want. A much-needed winner for Chiang Mai!!

Pros: 100% vegan!!!, Large menu, tasty dishes, Prompt, efficient service

Real Vegan Heaven

Cons: Costi medi

Excellent modern vegan restaurant

Very nice and modern restaurant. We had the Veggie burger, a vegan hot dog and the Thai green curry. Very tasty, good portions. Nice and friendly staff. Highly recommended, just a few minutes outside the East gate of the old city.

Pros: modern food, very tasty , many choices

Yum!

So nice to have access to everything on the menu instead of picking and choosing the vegan options. I agree with another reviewer that chicken sandwich needs more chicken! Menu is substantially similar to Taste of Heaven. Tasty meal in bright and clean place; happy to have another option for vegan eats in CM.

Pros: Chicken sandwich needs more chicken

Cons: Good solid eats, Orange smoothie was great

Disappointed (But still an awesome place!)

Please improve the chicken sandwich by using bigger strips of chicken, fresh romaine lettuce instead of iceberg and sliced tomatoes instead of diced tomatoes (these fall off). The sweet potato fries were soggy and oily. The tofu scramble was bitter and runny. The pad Thai was oily and was lacking ingredients. Please fix these things!

Love Taste of Heaven and interested to see how the new Vegan Heaven progresses! : )

Still as delicious as ever - a new all vegan restaurant at central location

The all vegan partner restaurant of Taste from Heaven with all the old favourite dishes from their menu (my personal favourites: pumpkin curry, falafel pita and brownie) and some exciting new things too like chicken burger with vegan cheese and vegan waffle with home made ice cream to die for.

Awsome!

Fresh food! It seems as if the vegan scene in Chiang Mai has gone all buffet style but that's not the case with Vegan Heaven. They have another restaurant not too far way that is only vegetarian but this place has topped it by going all the way. The menu is extensive and has familiar Thai dishes and several farang food dishes. Something for everyone here. Very near the night market and about 5 minutes walking from Thaphai Gate. Across from Wat Phan Tong

Pros: Great selection , All vegan , not buffet

Cons: parking for a car is a little difficult
