Cosy - Relaxed - Yummy

28 May 2007

We visited for lunch in May 2007. The staff were friendly, and the service was pretty quick. My curry/seaweed/pastry + salad was packed with flavour and probably could feed two people... I was too full to consider any of the attractive looking deserts on display. Very relaxed setting and a resident cat... nothing too fancy, just good food in large portions. The only possible negative I saw was that the staff had their half-nibbled brunch on the table beside ours, which they would sneak a bite from now and then... to me that gave a homely feel, but some people might not like it. Interesting artwork - I like the Pirate Cow.

Excellent Lunch

13 Apr 2007

We visited this place on a Thursday for Lunch in April 2007. The restaurant is pretty small, but we didn't feel cramped. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable, but not special. The service was friendly and swift, and the food was excellent - full of flavour and reasonable portions. They were fairly busy, and I noticed that at one stage people were turned away because there were no free tables - Book In Advance.

Great Pub!

13 Apr 2007

Expect a pub, and add great veggie food. Simple.

The food comes in large, yummy portions - it's not fancy, but tastes great. The goat's cheese tart is highly recommended - it comes overflowing with toppings, with couscous and side salad.

It's so nice to relax in a pub and have an entire vegetarian menu. There should be more like it.

We visited late on a midweek afternoon, and it was not overly busy.

Tasty Fast Food

14 Jan 2007

We ate here in November 2006.

The atmosphere and vibe was very relaxed. The tables and chairs were small - but it was better than many 'fast food' settings. There were some interesting artworks on the walls.

I ordered a falafel wrap, but they didn't have any left - so I had it in a burger instead... hey no worries - still tasted great!

The price was fair - pretty cheap for the serving sizes. They didn't have eftpos facilities, but maybe that was on purpose.

If the chairs were more comfy and they'd had wraps, I would have rated this place higher.

Would I go back? YES definately.

4 Stars

We had an excellent meal on Saturday 22nd Jan 2007. The restaurant was full, but even so we had fast and attentive service. The shimmering moon display is stylin' and I would have liked more artwork like this. The food was supurb - the Beetroot salad was my favourite - and the portions were a good size. The price-tag was a bit on the heavy side, but you get what you pay for.

Mixed Reactions

28 May 2007

We visited in May 2007 for dinner. We had the De waaghals Classic and the Lebanese Special. I thought the food was great, the atmosphere comfortable, and the service just fine. My friend was not very impressed with the 'Classic', and it was not as flavoursome as the Lebanese dish. We had to wait a while for the food to arrive, but you could tell it was very fresh so no problem.

It's probably not fair to rate the view, is it? If you could move this restaurant so that you could see Holyrood Park out the window instead of the grey buildings... then it would rate a perfect 5 for me! Everything inside is perfect.

We ate here twice when we visied Edinburgh in January 2007, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both meals were excellent. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely friendly. It was very comfortable. The food was really delicious, and beautifuly presented. The vege haggis was good too.

I highly recommend this place for a comfy, delicious, happy, yummy, and relaxed experience.

Cosy - Nice Food - Expensive

26 Mar 2007

We visited for dinner in March 2007. The place is very small, and had a cosy, comfortable atmosphere. Our waiter did not speak English, but he was very patient with our poor effort at speaking French, so communication was not a major problem. The food in general was very nice, but not amazing. The lasagne was average. We did enjoy our visit but for the price one might expect more.

Highly Recommended

We ate dinner here in March 2007. Of the vegetarian restaurants that we visited in Paris, this was the best for flavour, atmosphere, and value! If you only visit 1 vege restaurant, try this one.

Our waitress said that she did not speak English, but her English was better than our French. Communication was not a problem.

Highly reccomended. Book ahead (there were people turned away on the night we visited).

Terre a Terre promote themselves with a fancy website, complicated menu, and stylish decor - we had big expectations...

We visited in November 2006, and it was not very busy that night. The atmosphere was classy, and we were made comfortable. The service was very friendly and professional. Yes, the menu made it difficult to choose - we shared one of their tapas combinations, and enjoyed the chance to samples lots of delicious options. The food was 5-star.

Were our EXPECTATIONS MET? For the most part - YES.

The only negative comment I can make would be the price. It wasn't unreasonable, but it was expensive - people on a budget take note.
