Little bake shop with vegetarian kitchen making bento ready dishes and to-order noodles. The bakery goods are traditional Taiwanese style, with several being dairy-free and egg-free, but you have to ask (Chinese only). Run by a few elders. No seating inside. Open Mon-Fri 7:00am-8:00pm. Opens some Saturdays and Sundays.

Nice little buffet and pastries - Edit
A bustling little vegetarian buffet and eatery that also sells pre-packed food and pastries. I and a friend had a quick bite to eat here on a table set up outside for us. It was all tasty and cheap with the typical Taiwanese vegetarian dishes on offer.

Excellent vegan tofu! - Edit
There are lots of different kind of tofus, including vegan fish and flat layered tofu strips. Very tasty marination. I had more food than I could eat for 150 NTD.

Very cute and cheap eatery - Edit
Had some buffet food which was good. Small and not extremely clean looking but a lot of locals walking in and out so that’s always a good sign

Underwhelm-Xin - Edit
Had the wonton noodle soup. Too plain and too few vegetables and dumplings in there. Not worth traveling to eat here but potentially convenient if you're near by and hungry.

Heartwarming Authentic Experience - Edit
I popped in for dinner last night and I'm so glad I did - It became the most enjoyable food experience I've had in Taipei so far. The mostly-elderly staff are kindhearted, smiley and welcoming. Mind you, it's a very small shop perfect for a 1 or 2-person meal, but not for groups as there's not enough space. Whip out your google translate camera function as there's no English menu. Can't wait to go again tonight!

Breakfast - Edit
Tiny shop, open early for breakfast. Buffet style, mostly vegan. Friendly staff but can hardly speak any English. Good value for money.

Small shop - Edit
Was here July 2019. Saw this place listed on happycow and gave it a try. Here's my Xin Xin YiYuan Tang review. It's a basic little place with little room to nagivate and is overall a bit messy. The folk that run it are a few elders. They only speak Chinese but were friendly to point out the bakery items that are without egg or dairy. I tried the traditional style pastry with sweet mung bean paste inside, and it tasted fine. Some savory cooked dishes are laid out on a table, and you could just point to what you'd like to have it with white rice.

Cockroaches on the table while eating - Edit
The place is extremely filthy and dirty, we barely touch our food as we felt that it was disgusting and unhealthy to eat there. Do yourself a favour and eat elsewhere

A Humble Vegetarian Eatery in Neijiang Street - Edit
I think this place deserves a 5 star rating, not because of its facilities or space it provides, but because you can eat affordable and delicious Vegetarian food right in the heart of the City! They have made vegetarian food so attainable especially for folks like my husband who is not Veg like me. Crispy Tofu Curd with delicious sauce only costs 20 NT or is it 10 NT, I think (my apologies for not recalling the exact price that much), they serve buffet style so you can either choose what's on the table at the moment and you can fill your plate as much as you can or you can better opt with a hot Veggie Mien. If you are not in the mood to eat anything, you can opt to buy some bread or cakes in the store as well as Mantou.
Read moreIt's not only the food that I love here, it's the aunties who are accommodating us! I only understand a few Mandarin phrases but they were very helpful and friendly. Thank you Aunties! Thank you Taipei, thank you Taiwan once again for the wonderful food and for your lovely people. We'll keep coming back to Taiwan definitely.
