Burgers are better - Edit
These burgers are huge and tasty, and one of the items that has made this place what it is. Good variety on the menu, fresh juices and lots of vegan options. Always busy, and therefore a bit too much noise and movement to be really relaxing. I also feel a little rushed, like they need your table ASAP, which is not pleasant.

Competent chefs making unexciting food. The Italian options were done well, makes me think the menu would be better if it were a little more specialised towards that cuisine - or at least just any cuisine.

There were plenty of vegan options. We had to struggle to get the staff's attention to order drinks or food. We were a group of six. Half of us had already their food served, whil the rest had to wait for another 5 or 10 minutes. We were served lukewarm to almost cold burgers and the fries that were so salty they were almost inedible. We ended up getting dessert elsewhere.

I used to love their burger with satay but on arrival I only found 1 burger option. I think it's called Mexican Burger. I didn't realise it was veef style before eating it, as I Absolutely HATE Fake Meat, but I went with it cause I ordered it and nothing was wrong with it. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat it and only got half way before it decided to exit. I traded with my mate and he wasn't keen on it either. Although the fries were yummy.
My mates burrito was as awesome as always, very large portion. He always gets the burrito, always without fail.
Since I moved away from Melbourne, a few years ago, I've been waiting to get back to my favourite restaurant the Vegie Bar.

Veggie Bar in Melbourne’s inner north, such a great place for vegan food. The food we had was really nice. The King Oyster Mushroom special dish was great with roast veggies and fennel. We shared the roasted cauliflower yum, the polenta chips were just a touch dry today.

Huge menu with a range of cuisines represented on the menu. Very hard to choose what to have. I tried a biscoff caramel milkshake, a Peking duck bao bun, hot chips with Chipotle Mayo and the chicken katsu sandwich. All were amazing. I would love to return and try some desserts in particular.

Read moreThe drinks were fantastic. Sando was the best I have had. Noodles were lovely and saucy. Carbonara and polenta were nice but a little more understated than the other choices.
Staff were friendly, I loved the warm lighting and relaxed but a bit fancy vibe.

A great casual vibe with yummy food and friendly service. They have a good variety of food but not so much the menu is overwhelming. Staff were friendly and eager to assist. Food was delicious and well portioned. Service was fast and food well presented.

The variety. Basic burger or pizza and then a lot of Asian dishes (laksa, udon, tom yam). All of it was top notch and vegan. The brownie was best shared and could be renamed death by chocolate.

We had the most incredible cold noodle salad! At first, the price for lunch mains might seem steep (~$30) but you can definitely get one to share. The space is airy and beautiful with so many delicious varieties of food, the staff were so kind and we both agreed it was one of the most delicious meals we’ve ever eaten together and thank goodness everything is plant-based!!

The store was renovated from a warehouse, and it was spacious with high ceilings, which gave a contrast between the impression from the outside and the inside of the store. There was also a hidden second-floor seat.
I went on a Thursday evening and most of the seats were filled and it was lively.
The food was delicious. The portions were huge.
Next time I want to try the desserts too 🍰

I had the truffle and mushroom pizza with artichoke and it was divine. The base has an artichoke Kareem and the truffle flavour just carries through the mushrooms to make the perfect pizza.

The tiramisu had very good flavours and was delicious and creamy.

Huge range of veggie foods, with vegan options clearly identified. Seasonal specials on offer! Easy ordering through a QR code but staff on hand if you prefer not to. We went on Saturday night and they seated us straight away. The food was incredible and I am super excited to go back.

I’ve been coming here for the last 3 years, ever since moving to Melbourne in 2021 pretty much and I’m only just getting around to writing one of these. Absolutely awesome menu, just as much vegan if not more than vegetarian option. During our most recent visit we dined italian and got the Bianca pizza and the lasagna and holy sh**, the lasagna was amazing. Such a generous portion, came out still sizzling, and paired amazingly with a red wine. Pizza was also dope but that vegan lasagna is such a massive highlight, can’t believe I’ve never had it before.

The only thing I dislike is the push for table service over using the QR codes (which do work) on the table, which seems contradictory to my amazing service comment, but sometimes I just wanna browse a menu and order when I’m ready, ya know? Especially on a menu as extensive as Vegie bars where it’s gonna take us a hot minute to decide everything we want.
Definitely doesn’t lose points for this though, and I’m sure the business makes more cash leaving the QR code system out of the equation, so I can understand why it’s done.

Love love love this place. Food a little on the pricier side so it’s definitely a treat for us! Only thing to keep in mind is that they do serve dairy milk, so if you want a coffee or hot drink make sure you say soy/oat etc!! Meals are vegetarian or vegan so make sure to check the menu carefully!! Yaki udon is really nice, but I always kinda want more mock duck bc it is good :P
