This place is a bit hidden in a small street but it‘s worth it! Very cosy and stylish. A lot of vegan meals, breakfast and cakes.

Yup, the food is really, really good. So are the cocktails. The portion sizes are good as well. We ordered roti channai, jungle laksa, drinks, and pandan cake. The pandan cake was a little dry and not a favorite, but everything else was great! Cool atmosphere and friendly service too.

Read moreThen, there is the food: the menu is full of vegan options, and has few vegetarian ones. We tried the Nasi Lemak, Crunchy Margherita Pizza, Mac'n'Cheese. All three were very good, but I really liked the pizza for its well made crust.
We finished with a piece of three vegan desserts: two cakes and a brownie. Unfortunately, the two chocolaty desserts were disappointing: either too sweet, or too bland. The purple/pink cake was really nice though.
I will visit again.

International-Feeling Vegan Cafe/Restaurant Place - Edit
This doesn't feel like most of the places that you find in Malaysia for vegan/vegetarian food and definitely feels more like something you'd find in other capital cities around the world. It's got a coffee shop kinda vibe but also feels a little eco in terms of the furniture etc. It's nice. You'd want to spend some time here.
Read moreThe food we ordered was really tasty. They boast about their veggie burgers and they're right. They were great. The buns were particularly soft. Portion sizes on the other dishes we ordered were a little small considering the price but honestly, we weren't expecting a cheap, filling meal. It wasn't too bad.
When we got there, a lot of the pastries/cakes had already sold out but we still managed to get a salted chocolate tart and it was delicious. Along with the drinks that we had, it was clear that HT would also be a great place to chill, even without ordering a full lunch or dinner.
This definitely feels like a place for showing off. Would take friends here if they were in-town to visit or possible a date if that's more your thing. It won't be cheap so make it worth the trip!
Oh and do anything you can to try to avoid bringing your car. Parking is probably going to take upwards of 30 minutes at most times.

I don't mind high price food because it include the good services. But this place, you have to know you need to make booking or appointment if you first visit. Without booking, the services provide to you is damn lousy. Well, I have make the review in Google once, but still not satisfy with the feedback from owner.

The only thing I would want to highlight is that entire menu contains garlic and onion, then this place may not quite suitable for those who have strict diets. The music was a little too loud actually and other than that everything was good and food was delicious, cozy place.

It is a surprise when you walk in, the decor is amazing. We noticed that the music was a bit too loud and they were a bit too eager to sell; the service is good, but also too much. The food was quite exspensive and wasn't as special as expected by the looks of the establishment. We had the taco's which were fresh, but more like small pita's and okay filling. The 'meatballs' were like fried patato/gnocchi, not meaty at all. The sweet patato fries were nice, but the sauce was just a bit off. I think they could probably do much more with taste of the food. It looked beautifull and made with love and care and the textures were good.. it just didn't taste that way. Maybe we just were not in luck, as we were there on a saturday night.

The Hungry Tapir has that feel-good-want-to-stay-all-day ambience that is supported and strengthened by its yummy vegan and vegetarian snack selections (a clue to the v and vg goodies that is about to come with the main menu). The superb decor gives you indoor elegance and outdoor funkyness. And then there's the incredibly eclectic and unique bar, offering some wonderful creative cocktails. I had a Frozen CurryOn (yes! a curry cocktail - don't be a wimp, check it out before you judge). The Hungry Tapir also exudes the warm hearted welcoming energy of its vegan owners which is so important to me - a wannabe vegan follower and still trying to move towards that world. Peace and Love.
