Great menu with options

We had the satay to start which was phenomenal followed by the roti canai and mac and cheese. The roti’s were awesome would have them every day and nice drink options too.

Another favorite restaurant! 🫶🏼

Sister Restaurant to the La Gula close by, we also love The Hungry Tapir, especially for dinner! We also had breakfast there which was very good. Highly recommend the Burgers there! Very nice place, friendly staff.

Best vegan Mac n cheese I ever had

Omg this restaurant is 10/10 if I could give it more stars I would. I had the best vegan Mac n cheese of my life here. It’s very expensive but absolutely worth it! The banoffee pie is also absolutely incredible. Absolutely recommend!!!

Amazing Vegan Haven

We came for our final meal in KL and did not want to leave! Everything looked amazing, burgers were great, sweet potato fries and tempeh fingers with satay side were my favourite!

Pros: Food, Ambience, Service

Cons: Costly for Malaysian standards, but still reasonab

Must visit in KL

Food was some of the best vegan food I’ve had, happily accommodated my son’s peanut allergy. The satay appetiser was a particular highlight, even pleased my meat loving grandmother! Cocktails and vibe also very good. It was very busy when we arrived and we were glad to have booked a table.

Incredible

Wow wow wow. Me and my partner shared the nasi lemak, Mac n cheese and the Kung pow "cheeken" (which was a special). They were all incredible. My non vegan boyfriend loved the Mac n cheese, whereas I preferred the nasi lemak (best I've had so far). The staff were all lovely and the food wasn't expensive. Really glad we went there and would deffo recommend.

Solid Vegan/Gluten Free Food

Bit pricey - especially for drinks, but ordered the Nasi Lemak and really enjoyed it. All vegan and many labeled gluten free options. Hipster portland-like vibe.

Okay food, unfortunately rather boring

We had Spicy Tempeh Fingers, Jackfruit Roti Jala, and the Macncheese, which were okay, and were nicely presented. Sadly, all dishes tasted rather boring and the service was rather slow and poor.
Looking at all the other reviews we might have picked the wrong day, but this didn't do it for us.

Pros: Location

BINGO!!!, My lucky day stumbling upon this place.

I was a bit underwhelmed with some of the offerings in KL, until I discovered Hungry Tapir. Over the two weeks I've been in KL, I've eaten here almost every day. Best food, great ambience, perfect location, right near Petaling St market, I can't think of one negative thing to say about Hungry Tapir. Great staff, friendly atmosphere.

They even have a tofu scramble as a starter, best I've tasted. The Berry Kissa smoothie.

They also have a chill-out lounge/cafe not far away. Different vibe, but very good.

Pros: Friendly , Great food, Not expensive

Cons: Not in Melbourne

Nice atmosphere, good food

Bit tucked away, but worth looking out for. I got a bit of a weird seat assigned, since most of the tables seemed booked.

Food was decent, slightly expensive.

Superb…but Not As Good as It’s Little Sibling

Having been amazed by the food at La Gula (the titular little sibling), I thought it would be rude not to give this place the opportunity to wow me as well. Just as cool as it counterpart, but in a sleeker way, I felt very comfortable in here and was ready to get stuck in.
The homemade chips were great, the sliders delicious, and the cauliflower and pumpkin salad was certainly more flavourful than it appeared. The best two items, on the savoury side, were the truffle mac & cheese and fried cheeken. By were phenomenal and certainly a match for what I had sampled the day prior down the road. As for the sweets, this is where this spot fell down slightly. Don’t get me wrong, both the cakes sublime but the cookie was a little dry and didn’t have much a chocolate punch to it.
Obviously I recommend this place wholeheartedly, it was a wonderful meal and I’d be delighted to return if I could.

Local foods, nice atmosphere

The place can be quite busy. We were lucky to even have some live music. The food took quite a while but it tasted really good.

Great food and ambience 👌

What a great spot. So chilled and relaxed. The food was awesome…..beware, the small plates (starters) are not that small and we over ordered and couldn’t finish even though we wanted to because it was soooo tasty. They Funky Phish Cakes are lovely. Everything was really good quality and taste. We will be going back 👍

Pros: Food, Ambience, Staff
