Fantastic food but disappointed about all the plastic... - Edit
I've been here two times and the food deserves full 5 stars! It's creative and really really tasty. We had the chili nachos and one of the specials, a buffallo chicken wrap with a side salad and amazing dressing. The only thing that I really don't understand- why does the cuttlery have to be all plastic for one time use? The cups also. That's so much extra trash! The place isn't big so I feel like it wouldn't be that big of an extra expense/effort to replace these with more sustainable solutions as it is and should be part of a vegan lifestyle too (well- preferably any lifestyle). That's why I couldn't give 5 stars.

Spent the week in Princeton and this place was a life savor. Ate here a few times and I gotta say their tofu is the best. And that means a lot! Also try the desserts.

Great comfort food - Edit
I don't really eat like this as a fruit based high raw to fruiterian vegan but was nice to go to. My non vegan family brought me there for my birthday. I wanted something I knew they'd eat something at to get them used to the idea of eating at vegan places, and they seemed to like it. I ordered the beyond meat chili, the Rain Tree Bowl, fries and they gave me a tiramisu for free for my birthday. All of it was great. The rain tree bowl is a peanut satay tempeh red curry rice bowl, which I really liked. Girl at the front desk was nice. Had no complaints, the serving size was good, I was stuffed by the end of it.

I love coming here. Great selection and occasional grandslam meals- always good. My son always enjoys coming to the Record Exchange-possibly the best record store in the country, and this cafe gem is right around the corner.

Good to have a 100% vegan place in the area - Edit
I had the Buffalo Soldier wrap - the tempeh was very salty, I was super hungry but struggled to finish and drank a ton of water afterwards. Speaking of water, they have free water pitchers in the back, I hadn’t noticed and bought bottled water. Expensive, NYC-like prices. I’ll stop by again next time I’m in the area to try more things, maybe I’ll be more impressed. Ample seating and a restroom available.

Perfect casual spot - excellent food sweet service! - Edit
Super happy with our lunch choices: 1 breakfast burrito and 1 Planted Platter - which we kept passing back and forth to share - both had scrambled tofu and they were so satisfying it was hard to decide which was best!
Read moreThe desserts all looked fabulous- we opted for the Death by Chocolate layer cake which did not disappoint. Sweet hearted staff let us have a huge slice that seemed like it was 1 1/2 servings- plenty to take home!
We returned after walking around Princeton for 2 Chefs Hot Bowls for takeout for dinner - the Rain Tree with peanut satay tempeh and the Palm Tree with Jamaican jerk tofu. Again we shared and couldn’t stop swapping - and there is plenty left over for a snack or lunch.
The atmosphere was friendly and casual. We had to wait a bit for a table for lunch - we arrived smack in the middle of prime Sunday brunch time around 1:30pm - but didn’t have to wait long. There were 2 pitchers of water set out for self service- one with cucumber - a nice touch. I’m a bit of a tea snob so I wish there were more tea options - at least one green tea would be nice - and a few sparkling waters would be nice as well..
This is a casual spot but the minimal table service was really friendly and the environment was pleasant. We’re looking forward to returning to try the extensive menu - including many tempting looking desserts. Princeton has needed this kind of spot - we’re happy to support it!
Pros: Extensive menu, Wonderful dessert options , Friendly and unpretentious

Visited Princeton for a week and ate here almost everyday. Food is great. Decent amount of gluten free options. They sell vegan treats desserts which makes me so happy. Loved the Buffalo cauliflower, onion rings and the southwestern salad.

I can't stop thinking about their kale Cesar - Edit
This place is always good. Even my non-vegan friends like it. Their kale Cesar salad makes me so emotional. I have no idea why it's so good, but it is SO seriously good. My only complaint is that it's a $14 salad, which is entirely worth it, but ya know, kind of a lot of money for a salad. If I win the lottery, I'll probably spend most of my earnings on daily kale Cesars.
Read moreTheir tacos are great, the bowls are awesome, the falafel sandwich is a favorite at my office, and the ever-changing dessert case is absolutely out of this world. I'd recommend ordering from Snack Pass with your friends to get a little discount. Totally worth it every time though.
I will say the vibe is very casual inside. You order at the counter which is nice, and chill, but I wouldn't say it's an ideal date night kinda place. Just go for the delicious, creative, bountiful vegan food and desserts.

Solid if not spectacular - Edit
We used to be extremely regular patrons of planted plate. As odd as it sounds, Princeton lacks many vegan options. When this opened we were beyond thrilled. They have a lot of options and they are all quite good. That said, we have had better vegan food (of similar nature) and it leans less on the ultra healthy vegan and more towards the comfort vegan type food. We stopped ordering as much because we felt it just wasn’t super healthy for us. We did really enjoy it and when there are no other options in town it is a great option. We just don’t crave for it enough to be the regulars we were when it opened. Absolutely worth a try and if you are in Princeton you won’t find many full meal complete Vegan options (for example Arlee’s is great but it’s not the same type of place).

If Hoagie Haven Went Vegan - Edit
Princeton really needed a good vegan place after Zen Palate left years ago. This is perfect. We went here for the second time this weekend, and it was even better than the first! The place was hopping and the woman at the counter was handling the crowd so well. We enjoyed the Philly, gyro, and the kids vegan nuggets (Beyond). The French fries were especially good. We also split a strawberry cheesecake from Vegan Treats that was amazing. Don't be afraid of the crowd, they keep things moving and the food is worth waiting for.
