Amazing coffee

The coffee at this place is hands down the best in New Jersey. I love that they recently added oat milk as a milk alternative. I only wish I lived closer... and the iced coffees were larger.

Pros: Amazing coffee , Vegan baked goods clearly labeled , Vegan lunch options clearly labeled

Cons: Parking is a hassle in Princeton

Nice coffee shop

I ordered the mocha ice coffee with soy milk and the barista knew to ask me if I would like my drink to be made vegan (didn't realize it wasn't), but definitely appreciated her asking. the ice coffee was very good. the staff was very nice.

New and Improved Vegan Options!

**I will begin this review by making clear that I am a Vegan Barista who works at Small World. I have bias because I work for this company, however I also have better knowledge of vegan options available that are not always clearly advertised on the menu (I'm working on having this changed!)**

In the last year Small World Coffee has steadily been improving it's vegan options.

In addition to being able to have soy milk in any dairy-based beverage, they now also offer in-house made horchata, a Mexican rice milk beverage with cinnamon and vanilla, as a nondairy substitute option. I personally really enjoy the horchata made as an iced latte with espresso shots in it.
They also make a vegan chocolate powder which is not clear on the menu, but can be substituted for the dairy-based chocolate in any mocha beverage and also added to any beverage as a flavor shot. If you order a mocha and ask for soy, the barista at the register WILL ask if you would like the beverage to be completely vegan.
The in-house lemonade, iced teas, rosemary citrus soda, cider, and Mexican hot chocolate (with veg cocoa powder & soy) are all vegan options as well. The carmel and vanilla syrups that are made in house are also both vegan.

Now for vegan food options: The owners are currently looking into getting some vegan pastry items. Currently, the only baked goods that are vegan are the sourdough roll and the plain, everything, and multigrain bagels. On weekends the Witherspoon cafe gets foccacia bread from Lillipies which has occasionally been vegan but sometimes has parmesan on it.

The Small World Kitchen at the Nassau location makes several vegan items. The Chickpea Kale Salad and the Quinoa Salad are both vegan. The soy sherry vinaigrette on the quinoa salad I find especially delicious.
The El Gringo Breakfast Burrito can very easily be made without egg, and that is usually my favorite thing to order. You can ask for extra black beans or potato hash to replace the egg if you'd like. The Kale and Sweet Potato Burrito is also vegan. The Guacamole, Citrus Slaw, Chipotle, and Raisin Hell Salsa toppings are also all vegan. The Seasonal Hummus Pita and Platter are both vegan and the type of hummus changes often. Currently there is Roasted Red Pepper Hummus which is one of my favorites.

Hopefully this review is seen less as an advertisement and more as an individual trying to help fellow vegans be able to enjoy some very delicious coffee while also continuing to eat/drink cruelty-free!

Pros: great quality coffee, in-house made options, who doesn't like burritos?

Cons: not clearly labelled, limited options, additional cost for soy

No vegan pastries

We called, searching for a place for vegan breakfast, but they said they had none, so we didn't go.
