Best noodles in Reykjavik

Our favourite noodles in Reykjavik! The bases of all the broths are vegan by default and every dish could be made vegan easily. Great portions both for dine in and takeaway, great prices, great taste and friendly staff. They offer a big range of extra spices and sauces to add as well. Can't recommend enough this place!

Pros: Every dish could be made vegan, Great taste, Great value

3/4 stars!

Came here on a cold windy day and the guy at the counter was really helpful. Let us know anything could be made vegan except for one dish that has cheese. We ordered the noodles fin, which was a peanut coconut noodle dish. (One vegan, and my partner got the chicken option.)

When it came out, I had asked for no cilantro on my tofu version, so I took the one without cilantro on it. Started mixing and saw what looked like chicken in it after taking a bite 🙁. Turns out, they had mixed up which one was no cilantro, as my bf got my tofu one but with cilantro. We went back to the front and let them know and the guy apologized profusely and made us new, correct orders. Once we got the right food, it was really good - rice noodles, tofu, red bell pepper and carrot - but not necessarily the most unique or amazing thing I’ve had. Def good for a cold day if you’re wanting noodles!

Will veganise anything

Loved this place. They make all dishes fresh and will happily veganise everything on the menu apart from the 'al Parmagiano'.
Good portions, pick your spice level.
Lovely English speaking staff ❤

Great ramen, slightly tatty vibes

Delicious vegan options- coconut soup is great. Veg broth is a little too heavy on the soy sauce but is pretty great. Tofu was a litttle too fluffy so broke up a bit in the broth. Vibe is a bit scruffy but the food was great.

Mmmmmmm noodle soup

One of the best noodle soups I’ve ever had. I got the coconut soup with tofu and extra peanuts. Tofu portion was very generous. Would definitely recommend! Especially when it’s cold outside 😊

Pros: Good size portion

Cons: Not a very cosy space. More canteen.

Great Lunch On A Rainy Day

It’s our first day in Reykjavik that has been rainy and gross, and on days like that I cannot imagine anything other that a big bowl of soup to keep me warm! My husband and I walked to this place from our airbnb and were not disappointed- the first thing the server said to us was that anything on the menu could be made vegan upon request in addition to the one specifically vegan bowl! I had the vegan dish while my husband had a veganized noodle bowl with coconut broth. Tasty, reasonably priced (by Reykjavik standards), and a great upstairs seating area for people watching on the shopping street below.

Easy to make anything vegan

There’s 1 vegan item on the menu but most of the dishes can easily be made vegan by swapping meat with tofu. They’re very accommodating about it. Reykjavík is cold. The coconut soup is hot. Do the math.

Núðluskálin

I really like it, lot of veggies and flavors, easy to ask them to remove meat and add tofu on all the menu options but I do really like the Vegan one on the menu 👌The upstairs is really nice and cozy.

Free WiFi.

Pros: fast service

Cons: Bit of a walk from a bus stop

Go for coconut soup

This Asian-inspired eatery offers soups and noodle dishes. Any dish can be made vegan by request by replacing meat with tofu. Staff is helpful and knowlegdable about veganism. Prices are fair for Icelandic standards and portions are reasonable. Clean venue.
The coconut soup with coriander I had was great, I recommend that. The vegetable soup (that is already vegan by default) wasn't bad, too. The tofu they use is nothing special, just average. Plenty of sauces and oils and stuff provided for self-service.
There is free WiFi. More seatings (and better view) upstairs!

Pros: soups are simply the best, helpful and friendly staff, reasonable portions

Cons: tofu just average

Everything can be made vegan!

Love this place, great noodle soups and a lot of options. Everything on the menu can be made vegan and gluten free. My personal favourite is the coconut soup (C, I think). I loved it before I went vegan and even more now. I usually just have the vegetable option and skip the tofu (not a fan), but if you want more protein then it's a great deal. Only negative thing is that I seem to always want the soup on Sundays but then they are closed.

So so

Not so enthusiastic honestly. The serving is just ok, not enough noodles for a hungry guest. One veg marked option, with vegetable broth and tofu: good, but too much garlic. My husband ordered another dish asking to have it veg, they just removed meat without adding tofu (the price was the same).

Disappointed

Not sure why it's getting all these positive reviews. The food was super disappointing, not very tasty at all. Plus, there was no vegan protein to be seen which is my main requirement in most meals.

Cons: No protein option for vegetarians, Boring

almost all can be made vegan

Great find in a decidedly non-vegetarian country, (due to their limited food resources historically and now). This noodle restaurant can make any dish vegan, and can accommodate any level of spiciness. I went twice and got the same delicious soup: Tom Gha (Thai coconut soup, spicy, with plentiful noodles, large satisfying bowl). It was the best food we had in Iceland.

Pros: tasty, nice vibe, friendly staff

Cons: can get crowded

Fresh and yummy noodles

This place has been a personal favorite for years! Great quality food and good service. When I was a vegetarian, J was my favorite dish, it can also be made vegan (like everything on their menu) but I also recommend the cocos soup and just basically everything! The only negative thing is that I don't particularly like their tofu, I prefer my tofu fried and with more taste.

I love Nudluskalin!

I came here for dinner the other night and absolutely loved it! Asking what the vegan options were, I was told anything on the menu could be made vegan! I had a bowl of coconut noodle soup with extra tofu, which was huge and absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be coming back here; highly recommended!

Spicy and Delicious

On a rainy day in Reykjavík, Nudluskalin really hits the spot! The guy behind the counter was very accommodating to my diet and my food was delicious. Quick, reasonable prices, hot and spicy, what more could I want? If you are looking for a filling warm meal and don't want to spend too much, definitely check out Nudluskalin.

Everything is VEGAN!

Need a big ass bowl of warm noodle goodness? Look no further because Nudluskalin has some of the most reasonable prices in town and the portions are large. Best of all, the whole menu can be made vegan (it even says so on the menu). The chef was extremely nice and explained how all their soup bases are vegan. I HIGHLY recommend this small noodle shop. LOVE IT! I would give it 5 cows but this website won't let me.

Pros: ALL vegan, Cheap, Portion sizes

Another great option in the city

We came here twice and really loved the food. The pin (at the time of writing my review) is wrong- it is bang smack in the middle of the city, easy walkable...so hopefully this will update in the next few days =)

They have a sign in the window mentioning vegan, so it is easy to spot. They veganise anything on the menu for you (TELL THEM VEGAN as there is fish sauce in some dishes) but all their actual base sauces are vegan.
Full menu and opening times are available on their website- may be worth checking (as with anything in Iceland depending on the time of year you visit, as many things can be seasonal).

Really loved the food and the fact they make the effort to substitute any meat with tofu...Although food is expensive in Iceland, their portions here are very good and can easily be a filling dinner!

Pros: Well thought out vegan options & menu, great portions

Cons: small space, can get busy

Loved it!

Lots of great noodle dishes with vegan bowls on the menu. Items can be veganized with rice noodles and tofu. Great food for a rainy/cold day since the food is warm and spicy!

They also have a condiment bar where you can add sauces (sweetener, salty sauces, oil, etc), spices, or just generally customize your dish to your liking. I added a bit of soy sauce and agave. It was delicious!

Pros: Vegan options on the menu, Create your own dishes, Condiment bar lets you customize your di

Cons: Noodle bowls only, no dessert or sides

Yummy!

This was such a great find for me after doing self-cater sandwiches for a week! An Asian fusion noodle place where all items can be made vegan just be sure to ask for tofu aaand for rice noodles. I got the "noodles in a fen", it was so good I got it twice! Lots of cilantro, veggies, noodles, peanuts, ginger and spice....yummm my mouth is watering now! Large portions that I had some for lunch the next day. I think hours are open till 9pm now, check website!
