Calle Santiago 2, Granada, Spain

06 May 2010

Simply delicious, varied and cheap food. It is a mix of spanish and world cuisine adapted for vegetarians.
Perfect location, just outside the Monasterio de los Jeronimos, a major sight in Granada.

C/de Marques de Santa Ana 34, Madrid, Spain

The food is decent and wholesome but not as tasty as in other vegetarian restaurants in Madrid. A bit overpriced but located in the lively and lovely district of Malasana.
The salad bar was appalingly poor.

Pç Ilha Faial, 14A, Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal

wholesome food

30 Mar 2011

A little bit away from the central area normally visited by the average tourist, but still within a historic district of this big city that is Lisbon. The food is wholesome, using lots of beans, lentils, tofu and soya. Feels very relaxed as it is a self service and the furniture nice, leaning towards rustic. It's not all-you-can-eat buffet, but the portions tend to be big, so it's very good value. Very popular with locals.

Calle Santa Escolastica, Esquina Plaza Girones 4, Granada, Spain

Delicious food

This is mainly vegetarian restaurant that has some meat dishes. Delicious starters and mains. Deserts are a bit bland... and I'm not sure about the hippie decor.
Good food and cheap.

Calçada do Sacramento 36, Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal

Good food and relaxing place

30 Mar 2011

Very good wholesome food, taking lots of beans, seitan, tofu and soya - all deliciously prepared with some Indian touch. Just opposite a beautiful church, the restaurant feels very informal (as it suits a Buffet) yet friendly (always the same smiling lady at the counter) and elegant (the dark furniture is simple and good taste). The location is excellent: in the very heart of historic Lisbon.

Excellent food

Excellent food. Creative dishes, using recipes from different cuisines around the world. The place itself is very inspiring, elegant in its simplicity and with friendly staff.

Rua do Salitre, 117, Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal

Divine food

Excellent food, elegant restaurant with a nice garden. It is and it feels like a very relaxing Tibetan / Buddhist place for worship. But the food is not oriental, just a delicious blend of different cuisines around the world, with an elegant touch. The portions can be small and it can be a little bit expensive (but the food is worth every penny). The 3 course set menu is a good way to have a taste of this food. Make sure you book a table, as Tibetanos is very popular with arty locals, who will often come here for meals before/after film screenings at nearby Cinemateca (showing art house international films with subtitles in Portuguese).

Alameda Stú António dos Capuchos, Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal

Very atmospheric

Nicely decorated restaurant with outdoors seating in a beautiful little garden. The food is delicious (with quite a few Indian items) and the prices are very accessible.

Calderería Nueva, 4, Granada, Spain

to avoid

06 May 2010

Waste of time and money if you are looking for decent food. The place is dirty, the building itself is falling apart and there are electric cables hanging around everywhere.
The ethnic decor seems to be a mere facade.

Bonifaz 19, Cantabria, Santander, Spain

Just to say that this restaurant closes on wednesday.

Calle Pelayo, 35, Madrid, Spain

06 May 2010

This restaurant is predominantly vegetarian and has some meat dishes (90% of their dishes are vegetarian).

Delicious food. They have a variety of soups and salads for starters, squizzed fruit juice and their main dishes are vegetarian versions of world cuisine (I had a tofu and vegetables stir fry; my partner had a mushrooom and seitan dish with vegetarian paella). Some of the portions can be a bit small though, so you'd better order a starter too. Limited number of desserts.
Very popular with locals, excellent location, seems to be always busy. Friendly staff.
