Great food

29 Aug 2014

Found this place in a Hillcrest Farmers Market a few months ago. Owner was very nice and food had huge portions. Great for those vegetarians who don't want to eat like birds. Had a burrito with veggie steak, potatoes and a ton of veggies. Couldn't finish it all. Perfect food for Adventist vegetarians. Check it out!!

very disappointed

I went to Casa de Luz and expected to have some great Mexican vegetarian food or some great food at all. They charged five dollars for a salad, five for soup and ten for an entree of a stale tostada topped with ceviche made from cauliflower. The pinto beans tasted like they came out of a can and the lentil soup was unappealing to look at and taste. I was very disappointed that those were the only items on the menu to choose from other than desserts, (which neither of my kids liked), drinks and a smoothie that costs 6.75. Nothing in there was worth the price, then I looked around and noticed that the locals weren't eating anything, they just ordered tea or drinks! We were the only suckers at the table eating! Don't waste your money there even though it looks like a nice establishment. I couldn't even finish my meal.

My new favorite!

The food was phenomenal. I have tasted a lot of good vegetarian food and this is up there with the best. I had the bacon cheeseburger, my sis-in-law had the pesto burger, my brother had the buffalo chicken strips and the kids had the taco roll-ups. Nobody was disappointed. I will definitely be returning. Never tasted a veggie patty quite like that. Very good flavor and they don't skimp on the portions. I can't wait to try something else.

Awesome food and service!

Great food! Staff, even the busboy was really nice. We ordered a Spicy mock turkey wrap and my hubby got a Veggie BLT. Both were fresh and delicious. Coffee was self-serve, but had 6 kinds and then also gave you an option to take coffee to go after the meal. As the dinner went on, many regular customers strolled in which is a good sign. Good portions and decent prices. Going back for sure.
