My favorite spot - Edit
I used to go at least twice a week when I went to school near there. I make sure to make my 1 hour round trip drive at least once a month. Have ordered multiple for catering. Very authentic, very delicious. My absolute favorite Mexican food other than my grandma’s!

Yum!! - Edit
In all honesty, we had never visited this restaurant because we were hooked on their one-time neighbor, Just Vegana. We shouldn’t have waited so long to visit. The staff is unbelievably kind and helpful. Every time we have eaten in, one of the cooks comes out to check on our table and follow up with the dishes they’ve presented. The portions are substantial and the prices are incredible. Apparently, they are the only restaurant immune to the overinflated prices you find everywhere else. We have tried several items on the menu and really enjoyed them all. Even my omnivorous husband chows down with gusto. I strongly recommend the agua de jamaica…it is sooooooo good!!

I absolutely love Borreguitas and have been coming here since they opened. They are a family owned restaurant. They have always been so very sweet and friendly. They do offer a mix of vegetarian and vegan items so I always make sure that everything I order is vegan. Some thing that I appreciate about them is that they have stayed consistent in their quality, quantity and price throughout the years. Honestly, this restaurant is a lot more affordable than many other vegan places I’ve been to. My favorite is the quesadilla that comes with mushrooms and spinach inside it, horchata, of course, their tacos! Especially the carne asada.

I’ve now been here twice, and it’s honestly perfect. I brought 2 meat eaters and they thought it was amazing. The Al pastor burrito is my favorite thing - and hope they have horchata when you’re there!!!!

Newly Remodeled. - Edit
I came here about a year ago when I was taking care of some business in the area but didn’t leave a review. I promptly forgot what is was called or where it was and I’ve been looking for it every time I’m in the neighborhood, ever since.
Read moreSo glad I found it! Food is good but now it’s been remodeled and has a nice vibe to chill for a minute and eat.
Also the hot items are really hot and the cold items are really cold. My enchis, rice and beans were all piping hot and agua de sandia was slushy and cold.
Eat here!
Pros: All vegan!, Succulent fountain!, Friendly staff.
Cons: Paper plates for dine in

Mexican Antojitos in Pomona - Edit
This probably would have been my spot in the CPP days, super cool that there’s more vegan friendly places near my old stomping grounds. Brightly colored (loud pink) building with very “mi gente” vibes, there’s lovely cacti 🌵 surrounding the building and in the adjacent parking area. Please note, restaurant is currently open and is under renovation so it is for take out ONLY. Staff/personnel friendly, also - someone in line, was super friendly! Opened my car door, like what?!?! Amazing! I had the street tacos, ‘de papa y nopales’ and ‘papa con chorizo’ whoa- took me back to Mexico City as they tasted like “tacos de canasta”. To drink, I had the lemonade w/chia seeds, cucumber, and orange slides. Also, super yummy! The spot, has SO MUCH potential so pending to get this place rated higher, once renovations are completed, I personally would love an outdoor seating area to enjoy basking in this SoCal sun! Another recommendation would be more alternative protein options besides soy and going FULLY VEGAN (as their default is vegan, but they do offer dairy as an option).

Pros: Default is VEGAN, Friendly Staff/Personnel, Lovely cacti surrounding area w/potential
Cons: Offers dairy (so isn’t 100% Vegan), No other alternative protein options (only soy), Currently only take out, aiming for May reopening

Delicious and unusual Mexican vegan fare - Edit
Borreguitas is a very interesting (at this time, take-away only due to covid protocols) restaurant with homemade-tasting Mexican food. Completely vegetarian, leaning heavily towards vegan in most dishes, and 95% of the items can be ordered gluten-free as well, as they have GF tortillas in both burritos and taco sizes. I had the vegan burrito which was very flavorful--the beans are runny but delicious; the rice is very flavorful. My kid had the potato tacos and proclaimed them the best he'd ever had. Delicious vegan smoothie/shakes as well. VERY nice staff. It looks like it will be a good dine-in space when they decide to reopen for that.

Absolutely the best - Edit
There might be a better vegan Mexican restaurant than Borreguitas, but if so, I have not come across it. Everything we had here was unbelievably good, and I have been recommending it to everyone! The prices are pretty good, too.
Read moreWe lucked out, coming on Taco Tuesday. Had one of each kind, and they were all delicious, as were our enchiladas and burrito. The hibiscus agua fresca is to die for. It's really nice that everything on the menu is vegan, too, although that does make it difficult to choose from so many great options!.
Currently it's take-out only, but hopefully that will change soon. You can tell from the friendly staff that dine-in would be a good experience.
Cannot wait to come back - it's a 30-minute drive for us, but it's worth it.
Pros: Everything is vegan, Excellent value for money, Friendly, helpful service
Cons: Currently take-out only

Delicious, something for everyone - Edit
We got take out and it was universally loved. The adults had wet burrito al pastor, really really good. My wife who never finishes ate it all. I got the a la Diablo sauce and it was truly delicious and spicy. Kids for cheese enchiladas and were very happy with it. We all shared nachos al pastor, very pleased. The chips were made fresh and plenty of toppings. I had an asada street taco, also very good. Liked the green salsa and a steak at $1.50.
