The best Mexican food out there - Edit
This is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The beans and rice are so tasty and authentic. The burritos are generous portions and everything is fairly priced.

The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. This is my favorite restaurant ever. It is a must visit if you are remotely near Borreguitas!

Lazy cooked food, overloaded with grease, sloppy. I hate to do this to a vegan restaurant but wow LA has such better vegan options!! Just go elsewhere and save your evening 😵💫

We picked this as our dinner spot site unseen before pulling out of Sacramento, knowing we’d be passing by about dinner time. Glad we picked this one. It’s a little run down but the food is what we were there for. I wanted to try other things but can only eat so much food. I’d go back if it weren’t 6 hours away. Place was busy and crowd was diverse, telling you it has a healthy following.

Such a fantastic restaurant, staff and owner! I come by every chance I get when I’m in the area. You can taste the love put into the food and the owner is great woman that will encourage you to try that bit of Spanish you’ve been trying to learn. Such a great vibe here.

Food was super fresh and had great flavors. On a Friday night the vibe was super lively and fun. Love seeing that at a vegan spot. Also they had croissants! I did not expect that, and they were sooo good. Went back a couple days later for lunch and it was just as good.

They looks beautiful on instagram but fell short in person. My friend’s breakfast burrito(#4) was nothing special and the simple bean/cheese/rice burrito I ordered was abysmal. The cheese wasn’t melted but there a ton of it taking up space; literally so much that I couldn’t taste the rice and beans. We threw them away after a few bites because it was inedible and disappointing. I don’t like wasting and will usually give it away but there aren’t many homeless people in the area. They probably would be puzzled by the food also. Raw vegan cheese is a no-no.

This food is bomb. It's actually insane how delicious, this literally tastes like my Abuelita cooked it herself in the kitchen. We started with the best dang cookie I have ever had, and an horchata. The horchata is fire and they don't skimp, it was a big ol' cup. I got the chicharrones con salsa Verde which came with nopales and frijoles, my partner got a wet burrito with asada. Mind blowing. I literally don't think you could go wrong with anything here, just get it all.

Can’t recommend this place enough. Sure large portions great prices. Everything is Jalisco style and authentic. Cauliflower ceviche was refreshing biggest portions I’ve seen for the price, nopal dish is spicy in a tolerable way.

The best vegan Mexican food spot in P-town - Edit
I love borreguitas and yes I am a regular. They may or may not know me at this point. Everything on their menu is fire, and excellent service is always delivered. The food is made with love and I always feel at home here. I really love ordering their nachos with half asada and half alpastor! Try it you won’t regret it! Follow them on IG they always have great deals and even do after hours events.

Read moreHappy to know they went fully vegan! Only bummer is the economical lunch taco plate ~$10 today was off tasting for me. Didn’t taste fresh, I also went after 2PM. Could that be it? I don’t know. I couldn’t finish it and the vegan pollo had way too many onions for my liking. Maybe it was an off day, personnel still super friendly and the agua fresca was still good.

This probably would have been my spot in the CPP days, super cool that there’s more vegan friendly places near my old stomping grounds. Brightly colored (loud pink) building with very “mi gente” vibes, there’s lovely cacti 🌵 surrounding the building and in the adjacent parking area. Please note, restaurant is currently open and is under renovation so it is for take out ONLY. Staff/personnel friendly, also - someone in line, was super friendly! Opened my car door, like what?!?! Amazing! I had the street tacos, ‘de papa y nopales’ and ‘papa con chorizo’ whoa- took me back to Mexico City as they tasted like “tacos de canasta”. To drink, I had the lemonade w/chia seeds, cucumber, and orange slides. Also, super yummy! The spot, has SO MUCH potential so pending to get this place rated higher, once renovations are completed, I personally would love an outdoor seating area to enjoy basking in this SoCal sun! Another recommendation would be more alternative protein options besides soy and going FULLY VEGAN (as their default is vegan, but they do offer dairy as an option).

Yummy 100% vegan Mexican place - Edit
Came here for lunch during a weekend vacay, based on great Happy Cow reviews. Ordered 2 agua frescas, they were super delicious, we highly recommend. I had the mushroom and spinach enchilada plate with side of rice and beans, it was fine, nothing spectacular, the beans were very runny, but flavors were fine. I wouldn't order it again. My hubby ordered the quesabirria plate, it was delicious, came with 2 jackfruit (quesabirria) tacos with consume and a side of rice and beans, we loved it. I'd get that again. The kiddo ordered the pancakes and loved it (we didn't try it). Overall the plate portion size seemed a bit small. Prices were fine. I was very disappointed to see they gave us plastic straws for our drinks, which we declined, and also they give little take-out plastic utensil baggies with the dine-in meals, which we also declined. Sad they don't have silverware for dine-in customers. Wasn't very environmentally friendly. I'm glad I travel with a reusable utensil kit for these situations. I also thought it was odd that my meal came on a paper plate, while the other two meals were on regular dishes. I felt jipped lol. However, we were super glad to see a full vegan place on our weekend vacation. We plan to return for breakfast and try those options.

I got the chorizo con papas plate which comes with a side of rice and beans and choice of corn or flour tortillas. It was extremely tasty, kind of my perfect breakfast plate! Overall very satisfied with breakfast here, highly recommend.
