All-you-can-eat vegan buffet near Tianfu Square - Edit
We ate lunch here at 1:00pm. It was pretty packed which is a good sign. Cashier spoke English. We paid 19 Yuan each. Food was really oily, but I guess that's what food in Sichuan is like, so not unique to this place. Great location, very close to Tianfu square. I'm new to Sichuan food, so the following might apply to the region in general: Some dishes were really good, but some were downright weird-tasting. I would eat there again. They have a lot of different choices... Three soups, and about...maybe 15 dishes. There is a sink at the entrance with soap.

Great veg buffet - Edit
I got the dinner buffet for 28rmb (10rmb discount) with a coupon I was handed before entering the lift. Not sure how common this is, 38rmb is a little above average for these type of buffets but would still be great value.
Read moreEven though these buffets are easy to navigate with little Chinese, this place was especially foreigner friendly with an English speaking cashier and the drinks also labelled in English. The food choices are different from your typical veg buffet, and though at 6pm a few options were running out they always had staff bringing more food.
Can't say what it's like for lunch, but at dinner it wasn't as packed and crowded as these type of veg buffets can be sometimes.

Best value restaurant in Chengdu!!! - Edit
I give it 4 stars for VALUE. I'd give it 5 but wouldn't want to mislead the public. The food was surprisingly fresh and not too oily which is so common here in China. 28 rmb for this buffet of 17 main dishes, 4 soups, fresh fruits and 3 drinks (soy milk, plum juice and wheatgrass) is just unbelievable. It's a basic serve yourself, simple tray with a plate, bowl and small dish. You fill up as many times as you like. To find it, it's in the building OPPOSITE the big Golden letters "Kowloon Plaza" on the 4th floor. The entrance is about 40 feet toward the other end of the building. See the photo of the entrance.

Great buffet for big vegan eaters! - Edit
This place is very friendly and has a lot of options in their buffet. Everything from clean steamed pumpkin and white rice to VERY salty and oily fried vegan food, haha. Some of the dishes were way to salty for me, but they have a lot of more plain options as well which makes it great for everyone. There is a sign on the 4th floor of the building so when you get close just look up and you will find it. They also have a candy section of all vegan treats to purchase.

Busy vegan buffet for extremely good price - Edit
We went here for the lunch buffet. At 18 yuan the price for an all-you-can-eat buffet place is unbeatable! The quality is also much better than the price suggests! ;)
Read moreIt is located in a pedestrian shopping street and you actually don't have to take the scary stairs others mentioned. There is an elevator leading right to the restaurant.
Inside you can choose from quite a lot of dishes. Some cold, most warm, some sweet. They don't use too much mock meat in the dishes, which I liked. Lots of different vegetable, mushroom, rice and noodle dishes. All very tasty and all vegan (we asked)!
The atmosphere is best described as crowded. Not too bad though, but expect to share your table. People are generally very friendly though, so we were perfectly ok with this.
Food was refilled very quickly. If you eat everything on your plate and don't waste food, they reward you with a 3 yuan coupon for another lunch buffet visit within a month.
I can definitely recommend this place. One of my favourites in Chengdu so far!
Pros: All vegan, Great selection and variety
Cons: A bit crowded

Solid vegan buffet - Edit
I love this place. As an American, buffets give me reason to live (jk, sort of), and this is the only vegan buffet in Chengdu. I actually found it quite serendipitously—it’s sort of downtown, not far from some major shopping streets, and I was wandering around shopping and getting hungry… when I looked up and, much to my shock, saw the word VEGAN emblazoned on a building right in front of me! How rare (in Chengdu, at least)!
Read moreYou have to climb up a slightly sketchy-seeming staircase several floors to find it—the last time I was there the staircase itself was under construction and all torn up with the lights off, but the buffet was still open. That’s just China for you.
The prices are very reasonable for a buffet, and the selection of food is quite good. It’s not the biggest buffet I’ve ever been to, but there’s plenty to keep you satisfied and coming back for more. Beware of the squiggly light green vegetable (fruit? they serve it cooked) that looks a little like lumpy oversized celery—it’s called a bitter melon and it’s the only food in China I have spat back out. The dishes are all fully vegan, and 90% of them are delicious (sometimes on the oily side, though, like most Sichuan food). They have everything from noodles and rice to main veggie dishes to unusually good mock meats to desserts and soups. My favorites are their mini-cupcakes, their cauliflower dish, their glass noodle dish, and their deep-fried mushrooms.
I haven’t tried their hotpot, so I can’t speak to it, but whenever I’m there there are more people eating the buffet than the hotpot, so that says something, I think. Choose the buffet and you won't be disappointed.
If you’re looking for a filling but casual meal, I definitely recommend this restaurant!
Pros: it's a buffet, very good food, good value for your money
Cons: no alcohol

A very nice vegan buffet - Edit
I enjoyed so much the vegan food. There is so many different dish to taste, food that I never tried. In general, I almost dont eat sweet vegan food cause it is not easy to find, and there, there was quiet a lot to taste.

So great! - Edit
FYI, there is a hot buffet AND a cold buffet, which is back toward the entrance and has salad stuff/fresh vegetables.
Read moreThe hot bar is unreal. The foods are so good, I ate a TON, and the desserts were 50/50 in great/mediocre.
You should absolutely go here.
Also, the businesses under them have all closed, so the stairs are kind of sketchy. Don't let this deter you.
Pros: All vegan, All you can eat!, Friendly

Nice place for quick, inexpensive lunch - Edit
Yu Su Ge is a nice, friendly place with a very affordable buffet. I found all the dishes to be a bit oily. I think the description above has a small mistake: you should turn right from Tianfu Square if you are facing in the direction of Mao's statue.

Buffet and Sichuan hotpot - Edit
We were there for dinner. There are two options - a hotpot (43 yuan per person) or buffet (28 yuan per person). My husband took hotpot and me - buffet, to compare. The buffet was good, lots of dishes to choose from including salads, soups, main dishes with side rice or noodles, and sweets (cake and cookies). Great value for money. The taste was good, but for me personally a bit too oily and too many green and red peppers. I know it's Sichuanese style, but we also tried buffet at Wenshu temple here in Chengdu and the taste was more balanced.
Read moreThe hotpot has a huge variety of ingredients to choose from, but I thought it would be nice to be guided how to make it - locals know better what to put and in what proportion. Again, the stock was not so much hot as too oily for us.
The location is good, on a busy pedestrian street in the very centre. The staff is nice and friendly, even though they had hardly any English they made a real effort to communicate.
Pros: lots of choice, good location, friendly staff, gre
Cons: a bit too oily

Yu Su Ge - Vegan Cafeteria - Edit
WOW. What a find. This is the best of the best. 15 RMB($2.50) all you can eat Vegan Buffet or 33 RMB($6.50) Hot Pot. The buffet has 20 hot or salad dishes, 8 soups, bread, rice, tea, juice, hot soy milk and quite a good coffee. Water on request(hot). Arguably the best food value to be found anywhere and the most Eco-earth friendly as they encourage us to be conscience and not be wasteful by charging 20 RMB to start and then return 5 RMB if you return an empty tray.
Read moreThis is delicious Vegan food that is served up with with ever changing dishes to a steady stream of about 100 (seating for about 150) vegetarians and non-vegetarians that make this their restaurant of choice. I took a little bit of most dishes but they kind of all mix in so next time I will select 5 or six items and then go back to try more.
With your back to Kowloon Plaza look up to the 4th floor and one can see the phone #62433378 on the right and below that is the Elevator entrance next to the #67(not reading Chinese there is no mention of the Hotel). On the far left of the building is the staircase(we can all us the exercise).
Pros: Great food/price, 2 blks E of Metro/TianFu Square, Vegan/Eco-friendly
Cons: Cafeteria , not one where I live, tend to eat too much

Excellent Combination - Edit
A super-cheap vegan buffet, this has everything I want. Dinner is better as there is soy beef ribs/chilli peppers, and free cookies. To get there exit the Tianfu subway station exit (where lines 1, and 2 intersect), that is in the center of the water fountain park (I forgot which exit it is), there will be a Mao Zedong statue, and Science/Technology museum face you, then turn right. Turn right unto a Qingnian street, and you will see a building opposite Kowlwoon plaza, the restaurant will be on the fourth floor.

Great Vegan Find! - Edit
Thankfully the first reviewer provided the clues to find this place, and we are glad we did. It's not much on ambience, but for 15 RMB (~$2.50), it's a great vegan all-you-can-eat meal. It is cafeteria style, but the packed crowd of Chinese told us we were in the right place!
