Glad to have this option in Bakersfield - Edit
We've eaten here a few times when passing through Bakersfield. The food is good, but not great. Lots of mock meat. We prefer more vegetable-centric dishes. The baked goods are very good. Nice seating options.

Great options, small portions - Edit
Loved all the taste and flavor, but $18 for a couple of sides seemed like a lot. Fun vibe though! I went in November 2023

Consistent Satisfaction - Edit
I’ve dined with Vida over the past year and I can honestly say that consistency is key. Vida has always been very consistent in taste with everything I’ve eaten and drank be it pastries, in house drinks, various meals and their latest addition, Ice Cream (in-house made) ensuring Vegan Friendly. Thank you Vida Vegan staff for your service and consistency in all you do. Continue the Great Work.

Best vibes - Edit
I love this place. Im the only one vegan in my family. I have brought most my family members here and all like food and drinks. There is a creamery inside, they also have fresh juices. They have a huge variety of options. They also have a bakery, they have cookies, brownies, breads, cheese cake. Everytime a family member has a birthday I by them a vegan cheesecake, they all love it. You can also order birthday cakes, they do have specials on holidays also. I love that they have a rewards program. Friendly environment, great customer service. Best happy hour. Sometimes they have bands or DJ's. Its family friendly. They also have daily specials and bunch. They try and take you on a trip around the world with diverse cuisine options. Love this place. Wish they posted the daily specials on website. Also wish on the IG that they pinned the different menue options. They have a sushi day, a BBQ day, an Italian day and others. They do it at special time of day. Great vibes if you eat alone or with family. It is a Restaurant / Juciery / Bakery / Creamery , so if you not vegan and want to get something for a vegan, safest Best place to find a amazing option.

Exceptional! - Edit
Lots of options and 💯 % vegan. Some healthier than others but we’ve enjoyed every meal we’ve had here. The people who work there were very friendly and super helpful! Don’t forget to try the home made vegan ice cream 😁

Big menu and tons of desserts too! - Edit
Okay, so I was a little underwhelmed. The rice and some of the food was too dry. Overall, I’m glad I came here to try it out. The Oreo ice cream Sunday was over the top! I never have a hard time finishing my desserts, but I couldn’t eat all that food, and SIX DEEP-FRIED ORES WITH ICE CREAM AND WHIPPED CREAM!

Decent but room for improvement - Edit
My partner and I each got a wrap with a side. I got the Asian with crispy chick*n with a sweet sauce. My partner got the tostada. Both wraps were terrific.
Read moreThe sides were just okay. I got the plantains which were too sweet for me. My partner got the fried pickles. There were a lot, but unfortunately we didn't find them that tasty. The cumin sauce couldn't save them either.

Good Food, Good Vibes - Edit
I’ve found it hard to find vegan Latin dishes with all the trimmings (like vegan sour cream) prior to coming to Bakersfield, so I was excited to go here. The Mexican chocolate, which I got with oat milk, was delicious and comforting. I tried the Native taco because I’d never had fry bread before. It was tasty, and it was huge! The French fries and mac’n’cheese my mom and I got as sides were so-so in our opinion. The atmosphere is nice with Latin music playing in the background. Will definitely be coming back to try more of their menu.
Read more2023 update: the food is still tasty overall, and now Vida Vegan offers sushi. I recently got a Native taco, and was disappointed to see what looked like flatbread instead of frybread. The flatbread fell apart as soon as I tried folding it, and it wasn’t as tasty as the frybread I remember. I hope it was just a special circumstance, like they’d run out of ingredients for the frybread.

Vegan Oasis in Bakersfield - Edit
I am so grateful this place exists in what is otherwise a rather not-vegan-friendly part of California. Have been here twice on road trips and both times the food was yummy and filling. We confirmed today that the entire menu is vegan (unsure why it is currently listed as vegetarian on HC).

Great late lunch - Edit
Enjoyed our lunch. Dishes were quite tasty. Ordered Pad See Wei noodles with tofu. Quite yummy. Husband had Thai Curry with Tofu which I was unsuccessful to trade for. Next time, I'm getting the curry. Amazing flavor. Lots of seating inside and on patio. Clean restrooms. Polite and helpful staff.

Returned recently and enjoyed our meal. We arrived near opening and as the only table asked to lower music volume. Great musical choice but the standard seems to be loud. Meals were tasty! Disappointing that curry came with white rice while board states brown and I asked for brown. I was told menu board was wrong. So note to self verify entire entree contents.

Food is delicious but GMO - not as healthy as it could be - Edit
The food was delicious but they use Beyond Meat products and a lot of corn and corn flour which was not organic or non-gmo. Would love to see this changed.

Great food, some improvements needed - Edit
Can't believe I haven't checked out Vida Eatery out before! For a local vegan I am almost ashamed of myself. This place is fully vegan with such a delicious sounding menu. I have to say, the food was so good!
Read moreI called to place an order because I had questions - first time I was placed on hold and hung up after 10 mins of waiting. Called again, no answer. Called a third time and someone finally picked up. The girl I spoke to was very nice and took time to list out options for me. Unfortunately I was told my first desired option of brunch purepa no longer comes with the scrambled tofu so I got the burger arepa instead. Good thing I called because the online ordering system doesn't reflect this. I was told food would be ready in 10 - nice and quick! When I arrived I was told pickle fries were not available so I had to pick a new side. I chose regular fries .. but wasn't refunded the $3 upcharge for the unavailable pickle fries. I picked out some baked goodies (the case was full of delicious options), showed my free ice cream scoop check-in offer, and my order was rung up. Easy peasy.
Food:
Burger arepa ($16) - so tasty! Also gluten-free.
Plantain side (included in above price) - really good, only 5 pieces of plantains though...
Gorilla burger ($20) - my husband thoroughly enjoyed it! I had a bite, pretty darn good and a unique option.
Fries side (should've been included..) - I saw a review where someone said these are the best fries ever... Not at all. Pretty standard.
Desserts:
Brookie ($6) - so dry, not good at all. I thought the chocolate chip layer would be bigger, it's very heavy brownie.
Peanut butter bar ($5) - pretty good, not the best I've ever had but enjoyed it.
S'mores cookie ($5) - favorite from the desserts I tried. It's big, super chocolatey, and has marshmallows throughout in addition to a large one in the middle. Would get this again for sure.
Chocolate PB donut ($1) - not the best donuts ever (maybe even day old??) but can't complain much with that price tag!
Scoop of PB&J ice cream (free w check-in) - the PB ice cream was tasty, not much jelly add-ins but there was something white that is maybe supposed to be bread for a PB&J sandwich?? The other available flavor options were coconut and vanilla so of course I went with the fun one.
Summary: will certainly be back to try more menu items! Learned my lesson with some of the desserts and will be more picky about those. It's a bit pricey for what it is so won't be a regular occurrenc
Pros: Delicious food, Free ice cream scoop w/Yelp check-in, $1 donuts
Cons: Some desserts are not worth it / old, Pricey, Service is spotty

Heaps of options - Edit
There were so many options on this all vegan menu - it was hard to know what to choose. I went for the empanadas (a little bland, but still good) and a side of chilli. Yummy guava cider on tap too. Would have loved to try more from the menu. #Veganuary

Amazing vegan food and fast service! - Edit
My husband and I discovered this place while traveling to a track day at Buttonwillow Raceway. We stopped there on Friday and he had the carbonara and a mudslide while I had the Mexican hot chocolate and the empanadas with corn and we had a s'mores cheesecake for dessert. It was all super delish! And the service was crazy fast!
Read moreIt was so good we went back on our way back home on Sunday. This time my husband got the strawberry lemonade and the carbonara was so good he got it again. I, once again, got the Mexican hot chocolate but this time I got the pepper jack sandwich (which was freaking amazing) with chili. We took home another slice of cheesecake and some sort of puff pastry with chocolate. Once again the service was crazy quick. And they were all super nice. They have a lot of drinks of all different sorts that I'm eager to try out when we are in the area again. Definitely a great place to get excellent food and excellent service!

Love this place. All dishes have been good. My fav is the Original Chik’n sandwich. Their desserts are always on point. Really this place offers a little bit of everything for everyone. I’ve been to many vegan restaurants in LA, NYC, Vegas, and Hawaiian islands and Vida’s offerings are unique. The staff is friendly and the ambience inviting.
