Flavorful and fast - Edit
Vida Vegan was delicious! Stopped for lunch on the weekend- we tried the sampler appetizer and The Bowl. Both were really good- garlic fries were amazing and their marinara sauce is delicious. The bowl was full of flavor and was a good choice to balance out the junk food. I was so impressed with their coffee too- it really hit the spot. Will definitely be back when taking the 99 up to Sac again!

This place was so good we stopped both at the beginning and end of our road trip when passing through the Central Valley. So many options! The horchata latte, juice, baked goods, and meals we tried were all amazing. The portions are pretty large so we were pleased to have some leftovers to take on our way. Nice dog-friendly, covered patio with fans. Staff was super friendly and informative. Can’t wait to go back.

Seriously amazing. We got The Bowl as wraps and 4 different pastries- all SO GOOD. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, the outdoor seating was beautiful too. Definitely recommend!!

OMG, this place is amazing! We ate way too much, because we couldn't decide what to order so we ended up with too much food. Luckily, they have boxes to take the leftovers with you.

Best vegan spot in Bakersfield - Edit
Vida Vegan is a must try spot. I work occasionally in Bakersfield and this spot is definately one of my favorite vegan places in California. The owners are super cool and thoughtful with the menu.

Also they have killer desserts.

Awesome food. Orange chicken is the best. The chikn sandwich is delicious. Get the garlic fries for sure! Coconut horchata is sooo creamy. They have a weekend brunch menu, Phonudo (pho /menudo) is gooood. Only place in bakersfield where you'll find these foods in cruelty free form.

Orange chicken plate is at $18 dollars now and I wasnt allowed to sub the brown rice which i dont like for vegetables. One meal for 25 dollars with a drink. Insane.

Extensive vegan menu - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised to come across this establishment when I was in the area. The thing I was most impressed is how extensive the menu is and the variety of items that is featured on the menu. There is so much to choose from like Colombian and Peruvian inspired dishes to Asian and classic American dishes. The appetizers and pastries all sound and look tasty as well as the drinks menu.

One thing to note is the Colombian platter and Bbq Chickun sandwich were heavy meals. It’s not necessarily a bad thing just something to note when you’re exploring options on the menu.
For a sweet treat I ordered the Mexican hot chocolate and it was delicious.
So if you’re in the area or driving through then Vida Vegan is definitely worth a visit and a great spot for lunch or dinner. You won’t be disappointed with the menu selections.

I ate here while traveling past Bakersfield and then i ate here again on my return trip a week later.
The menu is great, with a lot of options to satisfy different cravings. Empeñadas, Korean rice bowls, burgers, and plenty of appetizers too. I ended up having the empeñadas, and my wife had the Caesar salad. We solid the elote corn. The empeñadas were great, I mean amazing. Crisply on the outside and bursting with flavor on the inside. I chose to get the fried plantains, even though I usually can’t resist fries. The plantains were great, and I didn’t regret skipping the fries. The elote corn was superb. I’ve never seen vegan elote corn, so it was really a treat. My wife said it was the best vegan Caesar salad she’s ever had. The “chicken” in it was deliciously crispy and flavorful.
On the return trip through Bakersfield we stopped in again. I had the gorilla burger. It’s huge, bring an appetite! I only ate half. This time I did get the fries. Let me tell you, as a vegan I eat a lot of fries, and this place really knows how to make good fries. It’s worth going there just for the fries. My wife had a patty melt, and loved it. We split the mozzy sticks which were really good.
Vida vegan has a great selection of beers on tap, and I think some other drinks. They serves some fresh lemonades and smoothies. We had lemonade on our second visit, and it tasted like fresh home made lemonade.
The staff is really nice here, and we met the owner who was super nice and very enthusiastic about his food.
This is really one of the best vegan restaurants we’ve ever eaten at. If you live in Bakersfield or plan to be in the area for any reason, stop here and eat, and get something else to go, because you’ll regret it if you don’t.

Delicious food when we're on our road trips passing through Bakersfield. Grab some of their fresh juices from the fridge next to the register and I recommend the Vida Burger or the Nashville. Make sure to check out their scrummy desserts too!

Amazing vibe, better food - Edit
All of the high reviews on this are there for a reason. This place is truly fantastic! We're from Missouri where they just don't cater to our diet so coming out west through San Diego, and LA was special to us as there are so many options. Not so much the case in Bakersfield. Which is where Vida comes in! The owner(I assume) is vegan and decided to take matters into his own hands.

We got the bbq chicken, the pepperjack chicken, dirty fries, onion rings Mac n cheese, mango lemonade, ginger watermelon lemonade, and Oreo cheesecake.
Bbq chicken was phenomenal and I have no comments other than you should get one.
Pepperjack chicken was good. The 'chicken' they use is one of the best I've ever had. It's really spot on and I would have questioned it if they didn't have "plant based" all over the menu. I think this sandwich could use something extra. Maybe more jalapenos and a sauce of some sort.
Mac was creamy and had 'ham' on it.
Dirty fries were a bit much for me and I wish I would have got the chili fries but they were still delicious and the fries were crunchy and tasty despite being doused in sauce.
The Oreo cheesecake was one of the best vegan cheesecakes I've had. Not exactly something I'd question as the real deal but quality all the same.
Both lemonades were amazing and every drink I saw ordered was downed in minutes by the other patrons so I think it's safe to assume they're all great.
My last comment here is that I saw several hiccups with the kitchen. A meal not going out. Food served cold a couple of times. And all around slow wait time for our food. But they had a line out of the door and lots of large groups. So just be patient and kind. The owner went by after each mistake and made it right. They believe in a good customer experience so let them give it to you!

My boyfriend and I took a trip from Fresno to LA to try different vegan restaurants and stopped at Vida Vegan on a whim on our way back home. This was literally my favorite place and had the best food compared to everything I tried during our trip! I got the A.B.L.T. sandwich with mac n cheese and my boyfriend got the Pepper Jack Chicken sandwich with potatoes. We shared the Nashville mushroom wings. Everything was amazing, I loved my sandwich that had an amazing garlic aioli sauce and the Mac n cheese was so good and creamy! The mushroom wings were crunchy and not soggy, we really enjoyed them. Please try this restaurant if you’re in the area because you won’t regret it! There’s a large variety of things to try and even omnivores will like it!

Stopped here on a road trip and absolutely loved it. We came here for dinner one night and liked it so much we came back for brunch the next day. I had a spicy tuna roll and brunch purepa and both were very tasty. An all-vegan place like this seems out of place in Bakersfield but I'm really glad it's here.

I ordered the Caesar salad as a wrap with a side of country potatoes. The salad was tasty, and more filling in a tortilla. The potatoes were well-seasoned, and served with sauteed onions and peppers. We split a slice of unnamed cake with icing and an Oreo on top. My only complaint is the soy sauce (for my partner's sushi) was served in a disposable plastic cup.

We stopped here on our way home to Oregon from LA and just WOW. Everything was amazing, and the vibe was really good. We ordered the purepa burger, the pepper Jack crispy sandwich, chili fries, garlic fries, ginger watermelon lemonade, a blended drink I can’t remember and a chocolate parfait cup.

We stopped off here for food after a long day driving and it was absolutely worth it. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food choices and service was excellent. I wish they would open one in the UK!!! I hope to visit again when we travel to California next time.

My husband and I decided to take a drive and find a new vegan place. We live in Barstow, CA and drove to Bakersfield to try this place. It was so amazing. We had lunch there and ordered the orange chicken and falafel platter! The atmosphere is great. Makes you really feel at home. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for dinner. We ordered the chicken sandwich and chili cheese fries. The chili cheese fries were so on point. Everything there is so delicious. Would definitely come back!

I had an amazing lunch at vida vegan today. First time eating there and we liked everything. I had a spicy jalapeño chik’n sandwich and my friend had the Thai curry. Again everything was great. I look forward to eating here again when I’m in town next.

Absolutely THEE Spot in Bakersfield - Edit
I was so surprised this gem showed up via Yelp then I confirmed via HappyCow. What a delight! We came around late brunch/lunch time on a Sunday. The vibe, the people, the space! Outdoor seating was a huge plus! Remember to walk in, kindly ask for a menu then order at the counter and pick your own seat. We ate outside and ordered: Chicken ‘n’ Waffles; I had a Chicken Sammy (sandwich). We also had the mozzarella sticks, so yummy! Oh and can’t forget the sweet potato tots! Oh and the refreshing drinks! I can’t hype up the music enough! I was dancing while eating! Their beats were very Pura Vida vibes, I will most definitely stop by again when coming and going from The Bay to LA! Bakersfield is now known to me for more than just KoRn! Thanks!
