My favorite Local vegan Restauraunt - Edit
The menu varies seasonally but everything usually tastes amazing. I love their tofu chicken.
Read moreThe Ceasar salad is different than a traditional Cesar salad but really good. Both my grandson and husband, non vegans, love this salad.
The last time I was there, I had the crab cake appetizer, it came with an amazing creamy sauce that was so good! I also ordered the winter squash appetizer, I really liked this dish, it also had a amazing sauce but more of a pesto like sauce.. But if you aren't a fan of winter squash, this most likely isn't for you.
The eggplant parmagian is one of my favorites, but not always on the menu.
Pros: They grow many of the veggies right there on site, Food is delicious, The hot chocolate
Cons: Can be chilly, being a sweater

5 course vegan tasting menu - Edit
I’ve heard so much about the plot and just tried it for the first time this weekend! the food was super fresh, produce-forward, and uniquely flavorful. i had the 5 course vegan tasting menu and a sushi roll (chronic roll) and every dish was so thought out and unique. My favorites were the sushi roll and the lion’s mane crab cake. the dessert was not my favorite, it was a bruleed and kinda salty sweet potato, but if you don’t like sugary desserts you might like it. really cool experience and i look forward to coming back!

Weekend brunch is exceptional - Edit
The weekend brunch menu is perfect. So many options and lots of unique menu items. I love the complexity of the menu and the ideas you get for your own cooking just by looking at the menu. The coffee selection was very impressive.

The dinner menu is not quite as interesting as the brunch menu. A little too much oil, the sauces on all the dishes seemed to be similar (identical?), and the pasta sauce tasted a bit like ketchup. We'll be back but more so for brunch.

Fresh & bursting with flavor - Edit
I love the plot! We sat in the garden and it was so cute. We ordered the Kombu Carrots first and o my gosh they were so amazing. We were licking the plate clean. Their seasonal red wine spritzer was something I'd never had before and it was really tasty. For lunch, I got the Korean BBQ chicken sando as well as a caesar salad and my partner got the daily ramen which was a root veggie ramen. The sandwich didn't taste very Korean bbq but it did taste delicious. The caesar salad was different in that the dressing was more citrus than a traditional but it was sooo good. My partner liked the ramen, but I didn't try it.

This place is adorable and delicious! I got the biscuits and gravy and a kombucha on tap and loved every bite. The outdoor seating was fantastic for a sunny day. The staff was super friendly as well. A veg head’s dream! I hope I get the opportunity to eat here again.

The food was even better than we hoped. They are very conscious about giving back more than they take. They use ingredients from their garden right outside the restaurant. Great server! We are in town for a week and will probably come back

An interesting vegan find in Oceanside - Edit
On our way down to San Diego from Long Beach, we stopped here for dinner in Oceanside. The parking lot is a little confusing because there are a few standalone buildings with driveways between and it was difficult to determine which driveway belonged to which building, especially in the dark. We ended up parking on the street, and there was plenty of parking available.
Read moreIt's a cute place and only half of the restaurant appeared to be used for dining, and it was pretty full when we arrived. The menu is quite interesting with a variety of different types of foods. We opted for the taters + kraut from the regular menu, and the Okinawan sweet potato gnocchi from the specials. There are also a variety of different beverages and my friend tried one of the homemade juice concoctions, which was very tasty and refreshing.
Before our order arrived, an amuse bouche from the kitchen was brought out. I missed the description of exactly what we were eating, but it was interesting! The flavors didn't seem to go well together at first, but as they mixed, a different flavor emerged. It's difficult to describe, but it ended up to be quite a tantalizing bite.
The taters + kraut was okay. I think the proportion of potato to sauerkraut was a bit lopsided and it would have been nicer had the potatoes been cut into smaller pieces. I probably would not order this again. The gnocchi, on the other hand, was spectacular. The gnocchi itself was soft and pillowy, but the star in the dish was the kale. The onion jam brought some sweetness and it paired excellently with the slight char on the kale. I would definitely order this one again.
No dessert as we had to get back on the road, but if ever in the area again, I would definitely stop by and try other dishes on the menu.

Made From Scratch!! - Edit
My wife and I just tried them for the first time. We had the spam kimchi, and I had the sausage and biscuit. It was all made from scratch. I really dug it, but my wife thought the kimchi was salty. (I must admit that she is somewhat finicky).

Recreation of classic dishes - Edit
This place was pretty amazing with a cool concept, many of their ingredients come from the garden around and behind the restaurant.
Read moreThe food was delicious and creative. I've never had ketchup made from beets! The decor was relaxing and homey. My only problem is that parking is difficult is limited, and you have to use the alley to access it.
The fries were amazing! I wish the "cheese sauce" on top was called "gravy", and they can just call it "poutine"! As cheese sauce, it want good. As gravy, it tasted much better! It also gives you the chance to add more seasoning to the gravy. Lean into it chef!
I would go here regularly if I came to Oceanside more often.
Pros: Creative classics, Friendly staff, Homey atmosphere
Cons: Parking is a challenging, Call the cheese sauce gravy instead

Delicious and gorgeous - Edit
The menu is small but everything was so beautiful and delicious! They grow plants in the back that they use on the dishes. I saw the plant that the leaves on my food came from, such a cool concept! And the space has an impecable design. The staff was so sweet and brought both my pups their own bowls of water. I’m GF and they answered all my questions. There’s a separate frier for GF stuff.

Fav Vegan Place - Edit
This wonderful place has earned its spot as my absolute favorite vegan place as of now. I enjoyed the food SO much and was blown away by the quality and variety of vegans food offered here. They source most (if not all) of their vegetables from a garden that’s right next to the shop. Love it!!

Great Waffles, Overly Salted - Edit
We tried the neon prayer (cocktail), cheesy truffle french fries, chicken and waffles, shepherd's pie, and plot cake. Before the meal, they offered a (free) starter salad/cleanser, which was a nice touch. However, for me, the neon prayer and waffle were the best part of the night. The waffle especially was delicious. I could have eaten just a stack of them for dinner. The cheesy truffle fried were good — but on the edge of too salty. The “chicken” (big chunks of fried tofu — which I love in theory, not execution) and shepherd's pie were both very over-salted (and I like salt!). The plot cake was very grainy/gritty. I understand it is gluten-free, but I have had many fabulous gluten-free, non-grainy desserts, so I do not think that is a fair justification.
Read moreBased on the reviews, I hope (and assume?) we just visited on an off day, but it was disappointing since we drove from San Diego. If I lived closer, I would give them another try, but due to distance, I likely will not.

I have eaten at The Plot Express so I had a feeling this place would not disappoint and I was right. From the charred broccolini to my egg plants and salad. The flavors were definitely worth the wait. I think The Plot will become one of my go to spots after surfing once I am back in the ocean.

Incredible Brunch - Edit
Everything was immaculate, from overall concept of the restaurant to presentation and taste. Prices were great as well. We got the fresh OJ (amazing), the house soda NineUp, truffle fries, crab salad, sausage and biscuits, the breakfast burrito, and the plot cake (omg). All made gluten free except the crab salad (has some breadcrumbs).
