Whole Foods, local, vegan owner who is the best and the staff is so sweet! Love the garden they have with fresh dishes made daily with it! The potato cakes, stuffed yam and the plot cake are my go to but there are so many yummy choices for the gluten free people.

Me being a vegan, there are many places that do, have vegan options, but really are not that special. For the first time in a very long time me and my family experienced this wonderful restaurant ‘the plot’ as not only a fully vegan restaurant but a restaurant that is welcoming and a place you cannot tell the difference between this and the traditional stuff. Amazing outdoor seating, with decorative heaters at night, and if still not warm they will provide you with a blanket and warm water for no extra charge. Service is better than any other restaurant I have gone to, the staffs priority to keep you satisfied, as they succeeded. The chicken and waffles is out of this world. The chicken being the savory with the waffle being sweet giving it to be a yin and yang situation. First of all, the waffles are better than I have ever have, meeting the standards of fluffiness and delicousness that any non-vegan waffle provides. The chicken having just the perfect amount of breading on the delicous ‘tender’ tofu underbody. Overall this was one of the most special and delicious restaurant experiences I have ever had. If given the option to return once back in town, there would be zero hesitation. I am absolutely stunned by how well organized and beautifully designed this place is. If in the area vegan or not, this place is a must!

My wife and I stayed in the area and found this place from Happy Cow. They have some amazing food; we had the caviar and potato cakes, lobster mac n’ cheeze, and chocolate cake. Great place when you’re out for a weekend getaway or in town for a really nice meal.

Came here to celebrate a birthday, and was not disappointed. Darling place with lovely outdoor seating, and extremely friendly and helpful waitress. We ordered one appetizer, two entrées, and one dessert plus beverages. Everything was beautiful, fresh, creative, and delicious. We will definitely be back!

Read moreOur server Jenna was amazing, super helpful and accommodating. We arrived 20 minutes before opening and seated us, gave us water and menus and said she would get our order at 2:00 when the kitchen opened.
I ordered the Mexifornia sushi, my friend had the in crabby Mac and paired it with a bottle of skid rose because the name was awesome.
The Mexifornia sushi was very flavorful and surprisingly fil. The avo topping was a bit excessive, but good besides it's better to have too much than not enough. My friend loved the Mac I tasted a broccoli and the cheeze sauce - so good I would totally have that as a side.
The service was excellent the food top quality and I loved the decor and vibe. I really loved their quest to be 0 waste. They compost uneaten food and water the garden with I drank water.

Had really nice experience here. Very friendly waitress and mostly delicious gourmet foods. We got the Chronix sushi, Crabby unMac, soup and Shepard’s pie. All were very good except for Shepard’s pie. It was kind of disappointing as it tasted bitter - although the presentation looked really good, big portion and yet expensive.

This place is perfection! In addition to having top-notch, creative vegan food they are also zero waste! Is it gourmet? Yes, I would say so. Having tried over 2 dozen Michelin starred restaurants in my pre-vegan days and also having tried fancy/gourmet vegan restaurants in many of the big European and American cities, I would say that The Plot is right up there with the best. This place is clearly better than any other vegan restaurant in San Diego in my opinion. I can only think of one in Los Angeles that it compares to and that one is far more expensive. Try it and you will not be disappointed. The takoyaki is so good!

Read moreOur waitress was stellar and clearly passionate about the food, giving us great menu suggestions. Between the four of us, we tried a lot of food...honestly, everything was lovely, so don’t let me steer you any which way. Just order what piques your interest and you’ll very likely love it. We are not gluten free, but just as an FYI, there were plenty of options.
The restaurant is also committed to reducing their footprint where possible by watering their many plants with unused table water and composting. Love that!
We went during Covid-19 times (early July 2020) and there was plenty of outdoor seating. Their many windows were open to allow for good ventilation and they observed coronavirus regulations. I felt very comfortable eat there.

I love everything about plot. The wooden reusable chop sticks, the glass syrup container, the atmosphere, and the food is simply delicious! I gave up meat products for environmental reasons so i was very impressed with the waste-free-ness. I also always bring my own containers for leftovers and the waitresses thanked me in helping Plot be as waste free as possible.

Went for dinner as the only vegan, with one vegetarian and three omnivores, and everyone had a fantastic meal. We shared some sushi rolls (delicious and creative), the mushroom aguachile (good, but not our favorite), the gnocchi (awesome but heavy), the chicken and waffles (the habanero hot sauce is fantastic, the chicken surprisingly “juicy”) and one of each dessert (the cherry pineapple upside down cake was the standout, but the sweet potato pans cotta was also amazing [you can skip the chocolate cake]). The house made sodas were also really special, and they have a decent beer selection, though not a full bar.
