Amazing beautiful Vegan food. - Edit
Finally got to try this place and we were so excited to go after reviewing the menu. Luckily we had not eaten much that day and devoured our two appetizers one being the chronic roll. Not only was the food great but beautiful presentation. We are already planning to return next week to explore more of the menu. The potato cakes and chronic roll were delightful. Also had the marrow and the biscuit and gravy with fried chicken. Don’t miss the espresso drinks

Wasn’t what I expected - Edit
I had the meatless loaf sando on the brunch menu. It didn’t really have a taste and the loaf part was burnt. It was also a bummer that you can’t change what side you want for your meal.

Wide variety, expertly crafted. There was something for everyone and every dish was fresh and flavorful. Kids love the chicken n waffles. Others enjoyed the polenta, stuffed sweet potato, and stir fry.

Amazing comfort food! - Edit
We had sloppy waffles not gluten free but excellent. Sausage and Biscuits are gluten and soy free drizzled with a little maple syrup. Totally unexpected guilty pleasure. Not far off the freeway. Parking in the back. #Veganuary

Ambiance and Excellence - Edit
Creative menu of diverse plant food. Ordered Okinawan sweet potato gnocchi, takoyaki and plot cake for dessert. Each dish was flavorful and delicious. Although I grabbed all to go, the interior and outdoor eating spaces were open, airy and beautiful. Fire pits gave everything a classy glow in the evening. Will definitely return to try the rest of the menu.

Plant-based Deliciousness! - Edit
If we lived closer, we'd be regulars! The Chiken and Waffles was fantastic! I want the tofu-chiken recipe! Service was great. The owners were there, keeping an eye on everything. Definitely going back next time we're in San Diego!

Good eats & good space-just a little room for improvement - Edit
The Plot is a neat place. I came here for Sunday brunch with a couple of family members. The weather was clear and just a little chilly—but this place actually provides blankets for those sitting outdoors. Inside there was loud music, so outdoors was perfect.
Read moreWe all enjoyed our food and drinks. My sis and hubby had the chicken (fake) and waffles while I had the frittata—all delish. I’ve been missing eggs since I became vegan, and the frittata fulfilled that craving for the most part. Here’s my beef, so to speak: can you please make a frittata look like a frittata and not a sliver of cake with a few tiny tomatoes on it? The texture was smooth, the fake cheese sauce was yummy and it was delicious. But not as egg-y as I had hoped, and for fifteen bucks I got a portion I could have finished in 15 minutes if I hadn’t slowed down and savored my turmeric chai. Thankfully my sister couldn’t finish the last fourth of her food so I was able to fill my stomach. Please use some Kala Namak and play with the texture and shapes so I can’t tell the difference between a real and fake frittata. If you can do it with chicken and waffles, you can do it with this dish. For goodness sake, I know there are talented chefs in that kitchen!
Pros: Totally vegan, Plenty of variety of dishes and beverages , Comfortable outdoor area with blankets!
Cons: Some small portions for the price

Zero Waste, Five Star Experience - Edit
Thoughtful atmosphere and knowledgeable servers are what set this place apart from other vegan restaurants in San Diego county. Also, the zero waste concept that is the basis of this restaurant is an example of what all restaurants should be striving towards. Fill your belly and save the planet.

Real vegan cuisine, not just veganized fast food - Edit
I can’t tell you how tired I am of all the lazy vegan food in restaurants like impossible or beyond burgers and the like. The Plot is nothing like that. The food is made from whole food ingredients, it is creative and delicious. I just had the Shepherds Pie which was wonderful but I have had at least 6 other meals there that were just as enjoyable. Prices are very reasonable, beautiful atmosphere and very friendly staff. I’d eat there every night if I could!!

I can't say enough great things about this restaurant. Sustainable, composting, on site gardening.

The service that Devon gave was second to none. Knowledgeable, engaging, friendly and outgoing and such a quickness on expediting!
The quality of the food was by far, some of, if not the best tastes and flavors I've ever had.
Crafty, cosmetic, balanced, original!
Pros: Everything was a Pro
Cons: Not one

Worth the drive - Edit
My husband and I went last night for the first time, he ordered the meatless loaf, it was really amazing, I had the biscuits and gravy and it was good but not just what I expected, it was a white gravy, a very crumbly biscuit and tofu as fried chicken, we shared the takoyaki which was scrumptious and a crunchy sushi roll which was ok. We also ordered dessert; the chocolate tort and the plot cake, we definitely liked this last one better. The place has very nice ambiance and plenty of outdoor seating, the service is excellent, I definitely recommend it.

Shepherds Pie was exquisite and hit the spot. This is the nicest plant-based restaurant I've been to yet. Outdoor seating is popular with the oceanside backdrop, but the indoor seating is nice too. Service is very good. Menu pricing is reasonable for the gourmet food served.

Incredible all around! - Edit
Me being a vegan, there are many places that do, have vegan options, but really are not that special. For the first time in a very long time me and my family experienced this wonderful restaurant ‘the plot’ as not only a fully vegan restaurant but a restaurant that is welcoming and a place you cannot tell the difference between this and the traditional stuff. Amazing outdoor seating, with decorative heaters at night, and if still not warm they will provide you with a blanket and warm water for no extra charge. Service is better than any other restaurant I have gone to, the staffs priority to keep you satisfied, as they succeeded. The chicken and waffles is out of this world. The chicken being the savory with the waffle being sweet giving it to be a yin and yang situation. First of all, the waffles are better than I have ever have, meeting the standards of fluffiness and delicousness that any non-vegan waffle provides. The chicken having just the perfect amount of breading on the delicous ‘tender’ tofu underbody. Overall this was one of the most special and delicious restaurant experiences I have ever had. If given the option to return once back in town, there would be zero hesitation. I am absolutely stunned by how well organized and beautifully designed this place is. If in the area vegan or not, this place is a must!
