Read moreI had the fish and chips, which used seaweed to give the banana blossom a fishy flavour and was delicious. My wife had the hot dog, which she also really enjoyed. Both meals were the perfect size for lunch, although we still had room for the Black Forest gateau for dessert. Brilliant!
They took my wife's peanut allergy seriously, without trying to shift all the blame to her (they just said they would take care in the kitchen, and reassured us that no peanuts were used in the dishes).
We had the lemon-aid to drink, which was delicious and helps communities in poverty. What more could you want?!

We popped in for a late lunch, the food was hearty, big portions and the set up for COVID was great. You order via a qr code and pay on your phone (they can do it manually if needed) which was super convenient!

I had lunch at the Cornish vegan today and it was so good! I had the fish&chips and couldn’t have been more happy with my choice. I’m vegan for years and that was the best vegan fish by far. For desert I had the oreo cake and it was amazing as well. I will definitely go there again and can highly recommend this place. Also the staff is incredibly friendly and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere.

Visited from Wadebridge because we really wanted cream tea and despite them not having it on the menu they made it for me and my partner anyway! Incredibly friendly staff and a wonderful back garden seating area, would visit again in a heartbeat.

Staff very accomodating. We went for a cream tea we'd seen in reviews but unfortunately didn't have it when we went. Instead had hot dog, fish burger, chips and onion rings. Food was sensational. Curry sauce we had with chips was amazing! Definitely recommend onion rings. Also tried the chocolate fudge cake which they did two for one as they were closing for a few days after which was nice

Great food, awesome location, lovely outdoor area for eating and sharing drinks. Lots of choice on the menu. The owner let me make my bloody mary to my liking, so very friendly. A good menu option is canadian poutine - only place I have ever seen it and a genius thing to offer.

The best of Truro - Edit
This place is a gem. Extensive options including more than just the typical burgers and junk food. Their banana blossom fish n chips was incredible, my partner had the hotdog and said it was also very good. On another day we had the poutine and thai red curry. As a canadian I can say the poutine was tasty although it was more like loaded fries than poutine. Desserts were yummy too. Overall all very good and the restaurant has a nice little vibe whether indoors or in their little outdoor garden. Staff was very caring as well.

Wanted to love this place but didn’t. The food was really good - we had the fish burgers, with skin on chips and curry sauce- but the place itself was very average and not particularly welcoming. They have decked it out like a nice restaurant from a few years ago and played quiet jazz which jarred with the menu. The wait staff were competent but not really friendly or welcoming (they were using the app to order which didn’t help) and they put a 15% tip on the app as the default which a) is too high for anywhere as the default and b) totally unwarranted there. Their toilet didn’t flush either. It’s a shame as I always want to support a vegan business if I can but given all the great options out there, I’d go somewhere else next time.

This place is such a great find, I wish they were all over Cornwall as so far I’ve been disappointed with vegan options here. But the Cornish Vegan are fantastic, they are so friendly and kind. Food is GORGEOUS!

We ordered the poutine, the Rueben and the fish and chips. Poutine was nice but lacking the “cheese curds” aspect (my husband is Canadian so he is picky about this) didn’t bother me, it was delicious. Reuben was great too. Lovely flavours. The banana blossom fish and chips were disappointing, but perhaps it’s the banana blossom more than anything else?

Something I think that needs attention is that the toilet didn’t flush.. I informed staff and they said there’s a “knack to it” so they’ll do it.. not a very pleasant job for them so I think it would be good to resolve that promptly.
Atomosphere was reminiscent of Mildreds in London, very cosy yet chill. Enjoyable.

We were looking forward to visiting The Cornish Vegan but it was even better than we expected. We sat in the lovely little courtyard which is very pretty. Service was excellent and very helpful, staff were really happy to advise on the menu, the very friendly owner came over to talk to us too. The food itself was brilliant - fresh, full of flavour and good portion sizes. Highly recommend the poutine which we shared, it was delicious! Hope to come back next time we are in Cornwall😄

We came to this restaurant in May 2019, and we fell in love! We finally came back to visit in April/May 2021, after it changed ownership/management and its still INCREDIBLE!
Read moreWe first went to order take away and got the burger and the fish and chips, and then we booked a table for our anniversary, when my partner had the fish and chips again and I had the vegetable lasagne - I’m Italian and a big lasagne lover and they were amazing!!
The portions are huge, there’s good variety of food and the staff is so so so nice!!
I wish we had time to go a third time to try some other items (like the hot dog!) - but we will definitely be back next time we’re in the area!

Vegan Fish'n'Chips! - Edit
We've sampled the banana blossom 'fish' twice now, having driven a fair distance for a takeaway. The first time it was nicely cooked and well battered, but the second time the quality wasn't as good, as the batter was thinner and not as crispy. The onion rings were fab though, so made up in part for a bit of disappointment. We enjoyed having tartare sauce, and would have had a double portion if we could. The coleslaw was made with nice mayo, and was very oniony! We met the owner this time, who encouraged us to try other dishes and told us he was changing the name to include 'plant based' instead of 'vegan' to encourage a wider customer base. Not sure we agree, but it's his business.

Read moreI popped in for lunch and opted for a curry. It was supposed to be aubergine (I'm told), but the ingredients were all so finely chopped and stewed it was a bit like porridge. The rice had a similar consistency.
Sad.

Read moreIf you visited on the day or indeed the week of your review, our curry of the week was an Ethiopian-inspired lentil dahl, and not aubergine, hence the finer texture. Regardless, all of our homemade curries have been extremely popular with our guests and we’ve had nothing but great feedback on them. We use brown basmati rice and it is always freshly cooked for the exact time for every serving.
We understand your disappointment if you were expecting aubergine, but it’s a shame that you didn’t let us know at the time that you didn’t like it as we would’ve been able to do something about it or at least explain the ingredients to you. We take pride in everything we lovingly make and serve and it’s important to us that all of our guests enjoy their time with us and leave happy.

Absolutely delicious food with great options. I would recommend booking as it gets busy. Note that everything is cooked to order so it can take about half an hour to get your food, so get your order in early.

Owner was so lovely and friendly. Had beans on toast an then added extras to make it more of a full breakfast. Pancakes were huge!! Lovely oat coffee too. Then just had to take away a cream tea! Best scones ever, the cream www divine too. Do not miss out on this place!

We came for breakfast and were met with a lovely ambiance and very friendly staff! We had been notified that the full English wasn’t available due to coronavirus reasons, but I found a way to cheat the system a bit by ordering the avocado on toast and adding extras of hashed browns, mushrooms and baked beans - and it more than satisfied my needs for a big breakfast! We also had the pancakes, and they too were lovely. All in all a brilliant place to come for breakfast, would highly recommend to anyone!
