Mixed Feelings - Edit
After trying Nextmex, I have mixed feelings. The food was not bad by any means, but it was not great. We ordered the taquito plate, burrito (no meat, add guacamole and jalapeños), side of fries, and fried capirotada. The taquitos were mediocre… edible but bland. Similarly, the rice and beans were dull and lifeless. My burrito (which was 90% beans and rice since I ordered no meat) was decent, but I was thankful I added the guacamole and jalapeños to give it some life/freshness. It reminded me of Taco Bell, which is not an insult because I like Taco Bell, but definitely not what I imagine when I think of Mexican food. The fried bread pudding was fine as well.
Read moreOverall: I should have researched the portions because they were huge! The person we picked the order up from was friendly, but you order at a kiosk. Some may love or hate that. I have no strong feelings about it. My boyfriend and I agreed that Nextmex would be best after a night out or if you did not compare it to Mexican home/authentic cooking.

Best vegan Mexican I've ever had - Edit
I had the quesadilla with carnitas and had to double-check that everything is vegan here because it tasted and felt like a non vegan quesadilla. My partner had tacos and taquitos that were equally delicious. Highly recommend this if you are looking for quality Mexican food that is also wallet friendly given the area.

Perfect taqueria-style vegan food - Edit
Absolutely hit the spot. Taqueria-style, very casual. We had the Al pastor quesadilla and the carne asada wet burrito. Both were fantastic.

Excellent! - Edit
I thought the food here was great. The tortillas were delicious, which, in my opinion, makes tacos great or not great. These tacos were great. I also enjoyed the taquitos and rice and beans.

Sad Mood, Good Food - Edit
LA Taqueria style American Mexican fast food in a grungy, sad, low-effort impersonal setting. Not a pleasant place to sit and eat.
Read moreAgain with the dystopian robot server who can't answer any questions about what's in the food and I loathe touchscreen menus for too many reasons, dirty disease surface being the first, anti-labor wage theft being the second, time wasting is the third, I'm a luddite who hates all screens (except happy cow obviously) is fourth.
Anyway... expect refried beans and spanish rice, unripe tomatoes and ice burg lettuce with whatever the hell's inside (will never know because: counter staff are stupid robots and not humans) at least these robots likely don't kill many animals; though the screens are defo probably made with gelatin like most flatscreen displays. Oh yea, reason five.
For junky California Taqueria style food, it was really quite tasty, prolly lots of glutamic acids. Totally lame they charge extra for hot-sauces and no jalapeños and carrots like a real Taqueria

Pros: biggest flautas i've ever been served, guava jarritos, yum, open late
Cons: overpriced, extra for hot sauce, boring and bland sides lacking fresh veg, lifeless dystopian robot dining room

Quality feed. Star system relative to all restaurants not just the vegan ones, so despite my notes to the owner, top taste despite the trashy ownership/management.

Best tacos I’ve ever had - Edit
This place hit it out of the park.
Read moreI got three tacos- all soy based and they were phenomenal.
Staff was very nice and informed me of ingredients.
Tacos came out fast.
Rice and beans were amazing as well.
I have nothing bad to say about this place. I would highly highly recommend going here if in Hollywood.
They’re now getting added to my “top vegan restaurants” list.

Delicious - Edit
Delicious and authentic vegan mexican food. Have been several times and they're always amazing 💚 Perk of its location is that it's next door to Doomie's Home Cookin... So you can have both 😉

Came back today, and they're as amazing as ever xx I DO wish they had proper plates and cutlery though, purely to save on waste

Best food I've ever had. If I could live here, I would. - Edit
Not just the best vegan food, not just the best Mexican food. The best food I have ever had.
Read moreIf you don't know what you want, get a wet burrito. Carnitas is the best meat in my opinion, but the pastor is also to die for. Their meats, queso (nacho cheese sauce), crema, amd cheeses are all incredible, unrivaled by any vegan or nonvegan versions I have ever had. Servings are large. The street corner it's on also has other great places. Check out Floridita latin dance bar, Dear Bella vegan ice cream, and Doomies Home Cooking.
Pros: Large servings, 100% vegan, The best. Food. I've. Ever. Tasted.

Not bad but not great either. - Edit
I've had better. Also, make sure you are on top of your order. They did not let us know food was ready and it was just sitting on the counter getting cold. Overall meh experience. Not interested in going back. I'll stick to the original location.

Not good - Edit
Ive given this place a few tries and am always dissapointed. Buritos are ok. Some tacos are alright some are weird tasting. And the mole is the worst. Just go to the o.g. doomies.

Some items are amazing and others are bland or salty af. I’d recommend the nacho fries. I would not recommend the Chile verde.

Good Food Overall - Edit
The plates were huge and gorgeous, and the options were staggering. I couldn’t give this one five stars, however, because it was loaded with salt. I couldn’t even eat the beans because they were so salty, and the faux meats were the same way. We tried the taco combo, nachos, and quesadilla. Surprisingly, the quesadilla was the real star here, though the homemade corn tortillas were also quite nice. Overall, we prefer the original Doomie’s, but I’m glad this place exist nonetheless.

Will be back! - Edit
We got the flauta combo and a carnitas taco! I don’t have any pics because I started inhaling the food as soon as it was in front of me. Really delicious! The refried beans were perfection and the carnitas taco was the best bite of the day. Can’t wait to come back again.
