Happy to hear this is a chain!

On our way to Crater Lake, we checked out this vegan burger joint. It was AMAZING!!! We've been vegan for 12.5+ years now, and we've never come across a burger and shake place. Everything here is healthy, tasty, and good for the environment. The atmosphere/decor is nearly identical to what I'd choose in a restaurant. The healthy soda pop flavors were fun. The burgers themselves were tasty and delicious. We can't wait to go again.

Pros: Excellent healthy food options, Amazing atmosphere and decor, Friendly staff

Cons: They use Daiya (yuck!!!) as a cheese, Hard to find; weird hidden strip mall, No leftovers

High point of our vacation!

We were driving round-trip to Spokane from the S.F. Bay Area, and on the 2nd day of the drive (each direction) made it to Bend for lunch. We were REALLY impressed with the menu (all great-sounding, ORGANIC options, & detailed nutritional info!), the tasty food, good-size portions, quick, friendly service, clean, attractive, spacious-feeling interior, and the information painted on the walls, about how seriously eco-friendly the entire business is. My husband had the Next Level Burger both times - 2nd time with added mushrooms - and fries. On our 1st visit I had the toasted cheese sandwich and cole slaw; for my 2nd lunch I had the Tangy Tempeh Burger (with mushrooms) & shared his fries. We both had the phenomenal vegan milkshakes both times (the soy ice cream version). I had vanilla both times, he had chocolate once and vanilla once. I'm not much of a bread-product fan, but I actually enjoyed every bite of the bun that my burger came on (loved the whole burger!). Cole slaw and fries were also as good as hoped. There were a couple ordering glitches on our first lunch, but not serious enough to keep us from wanting to stop on the return trip. (My toasted cheese was supposed to have fresh tomato and red onion in it, but apparently someone hit the "kids meal key" so I ended up with a kiddie grilled cheese, with nothing inside but tasty melty vegan cheese - a wee bit disappointing. Also, my husband requested "no mayo" in his burger, but there was, and "extra pickles", but there weren't.) We got take-out both times, because we were travelling with our dog, so we didn't know about the glitches until we were picnicking by the river, not near enough to deal with them at the time. I mentioned the mayo thing on our 2nd visit, & my server was very sweet & polite about it, & assured me she would double-check that no mistakes were made this time. And there weren't! They also have really big vegan dog biscuits for $2 each, and I got one for our dog each time, so she wouldn't feel left out. She was a bit puzzled by the size, but did finally crunch each one with relish. I am thrilled to know they're expanding to Portland, because I expect to be going to Portland next July!

Pros: all very friendly courteous staff, delicious food, generous portions, very clean-feeling

Cons: a couple of inattentive order glitches, outdoor tables are for the coffee place , not in California where I live!

OMG WOW WOW WOW!

Fast food but super healthy! Everything was familiar and fast food take away style, but then was really healthy and fresh and super tasty and flavourful!

The staff were really knowledgable and helpful and friendly and as I was feeling a bit hungover and spacey I think they recognised this and guided us through the menu, haha!

I soon felt amazing after eating the food, and even went back for more chilli fries. As an Australian travelling the west coast for the first time I am really impressed by the prices, all the food is so cheap, and the serving ps enormous....! Often way too big. This place however has the serving sizes right so that you eat and feel awesome.

Highly highly recommended place to eat either in at the range of different chairs/booths, or for takeaway.

A huge plus is the totally biodegradable utensils and eveyprything they use. It's great to support a vegan business, these guys should totally open up in more locations!

Go there!

Good Vegan Fast Food

Really glad that Bend has an all-vegan restaurant. NLB is planning another location to open soon in Portland! The atmosphere is open, & bright. The restaurant is located on the westside of town; It's a little hard to find since it's set back from the road.

We had the crinkle-cut fries (lightly seasoned spice), the Next Level Burger, and the Happy Chili Dog. The NLB Burger was a little dry, but still tasted good. Everything was very filling. Price was okay. Service was good and friendly. I would like to see them have outdoor seating and more signs (maybe a sandwich board on Century Drive) letting people know they're there. They do have a billboard near Empire & 3rd Street, though. Will go back again.

Pros: food choices & variety, friendly & patient

Level Up!

We just ate at NLB 3 days in a row! The pancakes were amazing, and I hate pancakes...The breakfast bowl was yummy, the Brekky Sandwich was good,(although I recommend ordering a dipping sauce with it.) The tomato soup, the kraut sandwich, and the BLAT were all great. We very much appreciated the friendly staff, bright environment, and the fact that Bend finally has a safe place to eat. :)

Pros: Awesome staff, Price is right, Organic! Vegan!

Cons: No dishware

Bend FINALLY has a vegan joint!!!

We visit Bend every year and it's always hard to find vegan restaurants or food. Not anymore!!!! We were so happy to eat at Next Level Burger today. We had a Next Level Burger, Happy Dog, a Chili Cheese Dog, and several shakes. All were delicious!!! And, for being all plant based and organic, it was all really reasonably priced. They're tucked away in a shopping center, not super visible by road, so we hope word gets around. We'd love to see them stay and do well. Thanks guys! We'll definitely be back for breakfast. Oh yes! They're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Woohoooo!!

Excellent for "fast food"

We had the grilled cheese, kraut dog, and chili fries. The grilled cheese/tomato soup was excellent. Daya cheese w/fresh tomatoes and onions--it went perfect with the tomato soup and a winter afternoon. The chili fries had three types of beans, fresh tomato, onion and quinoa--and tasted wonderful. The crow dog was simple but good. Finally, they had a soda fountain with really tasty organic sodas, from blueberry to 'dr pepper'.

Pros: great prices, no tips, employees profit share, great service

Cons: none

Bend's 1st 100% Plant-Based Restaurant = Excellent

The atmosphere is great, the staff is friendly, patient, and helpful. The food is really delicious. I have had the SoCal Burger with Crinkle-cut fries, steamed kale, Hummus & Veggie Sandwich - everything was excellent!
I have tasted the Next Level Burger and the Orange Fair Trade Craft Soda, and are both excellent as well.
I highly recommend NLB!

Pros: Atmosphere, Organic, 100% Plant-Based
