More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I love animals & I care about our environment. I want to do all I can to help make our world a better place for everyone.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

I've really appreciated people taking out the time to rate good places to shop or dine that are animal-friendly places. I wanted to chime in and do my part to help others, too :-)

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I've been thankful to travel all over the U.S. as well as Canada, Mexico, S. Korea, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, & Italy. One of my favorite places is a small village in Italy (No cars only cobbled roads next to the Mediterranean Sea. Very natural area. Peaceful). I would like to find a place like that here in the U.S.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

I really love homemade cashew mozzarella. I love most things with coconut. I'm a foodie, so there are so many fantastic foods. I used to be a vegetarian & was a bit nervous about going vegan thinking that choices would be limited, but I was very wrong. Vegan food is awesome and now I don't contribute to any animals' suffering (due to the horrible dairy industry's methods).

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

Animal Rights: Earthlings was THE hardest movie I've ever watched & I've watched many food/animal documentaries. Even MFA's 5 min video on You Tube was hard-- but necessary & effective for having that kind of effect such a short time. Gary Yourefsky's videos are harsh, but real. Health Focus: Forks Over Knives, Food Inc., 101 Reasons to Go Vegan (You Tube), Beyond Carnism (Ted Talk Munich). So many effective documentaries out there.
