Don’t go anywhere else!

Best vegan tacos I ever had! My husband had the tofu shashuka, which was also extraordinary. And the place is buzzing and so nice to sit! Just the vegan pancakes were just good. Perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Multi dimensional YUM!!!!

I love this place. Its light, colorful open floorplan and great 70’s/80’s music. I ordered the blackened tofu tacos, with chimichurri, pico, avocado.., could have subbed the vegan cheese but opted out. I loved these tacos, warm, delicate, each flavor blending but uniquely vibrant in color and taste. My husband had the gluten free pizza with vegan cheese, mushrooms, and a delicate compliment of truffle oil. The owner if Moondog also owns and operates The Cafe, which I would add had the best fries in the ‘whole’ continental U.S. I would come back to Key West for the food here alone. If I could give 10 stars I would. You HAVE to eat here!

Pros: Tons of GF and vegan options, Light delicate, ridiculous good, Best food in Key West

Yes. Here too

This place is owned by the folks at The Cafe. The menu has a bit of variety but the core is the same and so very much a recommendation. Tonight we had tofu tacos and the mushroom pizza. Went gluten free crust and of course veggie cheese instead of the Fontana cheese and it was marvelous. Don’t forget to have one of “Dad’s” sangria. We have tried the blackberry and the watermelon.

Pros: Many Vegetarian options , A few good vegan selections with substitutions, Wait staff understand what we are trying to eat

Cons: None

Great Vegan Options!

I really enjoyed this restaurant!! The decor is fun and unique, the service was fast and friendly, and they had tons of vegan options! The menu is clearly marked what is vegan or can be made vegan. There are so many options, from appetizers to the main course and a ton of dessert options. I had the mushroom pizza and Key Lime cheesecake. Both were so delicious and flavorful!

Loved it

There aren't many places in Key West that offer vegan options. We found this place walking around and stopped in for dinner.

I'm vegan, my son is a vegetarian and my SO is omni.

We got the grilled veg charcuterie and truffle fries with no cheese as appetizers. We definitely could have eaten that alone and been happy.

I didn't get a picture but the veg board had artichokes, grilled tomatoes, roasted red pepper, grilled eggplant, grilled carrots, olives, hummus, green goddess dressing, and French bread. I might be forgetting something. It was HUGE and we devoured it.

The truffle fries were good but they're truffle fries so they're always good..

They have pizzas which are about 12 to 14 inches and I think if you don't get an appetizer two people could eat it and be full. We had to take leftovers. They have daiya so you can get almost any pizza vegan.

The service was great and I really liked out server. She was very cool and accommodating. I think she might have been a veg also.

They are environmentally conscience as well. Their togo bags are biodegradable and they don't use plastics or Styrofoam.

*This is also the only place you're going to find a vegan equivalent to a key lime pie

Vegan options are great

Loved the vibe and the vegan options available. I went two times, one time for breakfast and another time for lunch. For lunch I had the vegan tacos based on tofu, vegan cheese a green sauce (don’t remember which one) and for breakfast they adapted the huevos rancheros but with tofu. Loved this place.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: None

Loved the burger

Lots of great vegan options — I tried the green giant burger and loved it. The green goddess dressing was also excellent.

Great Veg options

For Key West, this is one of the best options for vegetarians and carnivores to dine together. For vegans, I highly recommend the Vegetable Charcuterie, the Brussels Sprouts, Blackened Tofu Tacos, and The Green Giant burger. For vegetarians, the Fig and Gorgonzola pizza is the best [censored] thing on the menu. Their vegan pastries are excellent, especially the apricot croissant and vegan key lime pie.

Awful

Awful! We sat outside on the patio. There was a chicken and her babies walking around amongst the tables, just like everywhere outside Key West. Absolutely adorable. As soon as my food came out. Some psycho waitress comes out with a water gun and violently chases them shooting them with water until they scramble terrified for their lives falling off of the patio. I was absolutely horrified and almost couldn’t eat my food. It took everything in me not to tell her off. The vegan tacos were blah. The best part was the green goddess dressing on my side salad and that was it. The service was crappy and anything I asked for seemed like a huge deal. I am typing this while waiting for my check which seems like it is never going to come. I know this place got great ratings but my experience has not been good whatsoever.

Pros: Not too many

Cons: Crappy service , Unkind to animals , Just ok food

Yummy Vegan Options

Had vegan key-lime cheesecake and the Green Giant Burger. They have plenty of vegan/veg options or ways you can switch out tofu for meat/eggs.

Pros: Vegan options , Milk alternatives , Bakery vegan items

Cons: Pricey , Not 100% vegan

Cool place - vegan options

This is a popular spot with a friendly, cool decor and vibe. Several vegan options - very appreciated for the location, but not super fresh or homemade feeling. Given the few vegan options in Key West, we enjoyed our lunch!

A magical experience

Going to Moondog was like being transported to another city. It had the quaint charm of a French cafe, but is actually a sizable restaurant with an extensive menu. Lots of veg options.

Pros: Large menu, Very cute place

vegan pastries and key lime pie!!

Colorful, artsy interior. Friendly, attentive staff. Quite a few vegan options - we had breakfast quinoa bowl and quinoa salad. Both were good but bowl had a bit too much oil and salad a little bland but good portions. Good expresso. Best vegan key lime pie in town. Noisy and tight table seating. Overpriced but convenient to tourist sight seeing area.

Pros: vegan key lime pie, good expresso, several vegan dishes as well as vegan pastries and

Cons: pricey, noisy

Amazing vegan desserts

Only went for coffee and treats but they had a great selection of vegan desserts including key lime pie (which was amazing) and vegan carrot cake. I noticed they had vegan muffins, tarts, and cookies as well. There’s also a sit in area to dine.

Pros: Vegan desserts

Great little getaway

This is a lovely little restaurant with a plethora of vegan options, a la carte and made hot to order. Vegan baked goods are well marked and well made without being extraordinarily expensive. I would give it 5 stars if it was fully vegan; definitely a place to frequent for the vegans and vegetarians in and around Key West.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, close to the southren most

Vibrant restaurant

This place is colorful, vibrant, with friendly staff, walkable distance from southern tip and 0 mile. We had vegan burgers which were very good, and the fries which accompanied it was the best fries ever. Key lime pies are very famous in Key West, this was the only place where we could find some vegan ones. The only big minus of this place is, it is exuberantly pricey.

Pros: Found vegan key lime pie, Close to Southern Tip Point and 0 mile

Cons: Expensive, Less portion size
