Great restaurant with lots of vegan options - Edit
They had plenty of vegan options to choose from. Everything we ordered was delicious. Hubby ordered a veggie burger that was really good and pretty big. I had tofu tacos that were delicious as well. My portion was rather small though. I ate all 3 which I rarely ever do when eating tacos.

Vegan Key Lime Tart. - Edit
Went here twice on a quick trip to a key West. First popped in one afternoon to grab the vegan Key Lime tart then went back the next morning for breakfast and had the blueberry quinoa pancakes (and maybe bought another tart too) freaking delicious.

Not only do they have Vegan pancakes, which are hard to find, but they also have cake! 🤤 Key lime pie was one of my orders too, and they have a Vegan one. Can’t go to Key West without having Key lime pie.

Our favorite in Key West - Edit
Super nice atmosphere and service. Quite some vegan options and also nice for the rest of the family. I had Brussel Sprouts and a salad and liked both. For breakfast I had a cereal bowl with fresh fruit. There‘s oat milk and almond milk as options.

Delicious but over priced - Edit
Food = delicious; dessert choices = bountiful and mind boggling, but had a somewhat mixed experience. I feel everything but the cookies are extremely over priced (but we are also on an island) and their service at dinner was extremely lacking. They may or may not have been understaffed but we did not feel attended to at all and so did the handful of tables around us. My husband (an omnivore) got a meat burger - he was told they have the best burgers on the island - didn’t even finish half of it and the $3 up charge for sweet potato fries came unsalted and bland. My vegan fare was delicious (tofu tacos) but my husband was not satisfied. Us and all the tables around us kind of all looked at each other and decided it was okay because we were in it together but ultimately we left questioning if they’d had a successful dinner “rush” before - for the record they were not that busy. But I’d go back only for the baked goods.

We feel so lucky and happy to have found this delicious and wonderful restaurant! My husband looked on Happy Cow and google while in Key West visiting to find somewhere to eat out. Not an huge selection in Key West unfortunately. We are SO happy we found Moondog!! We started with the Key Lime Sangria, because, well, we felt we should! So delicious and refreshing and the perfect start to the perfect dinner. We were hungry so we ordered a few things that were clearly marked vegan (thank you for that!) We had the Wok Fired Brussels Sprouts, Spinach Gyoza Dumplings, and the Avocado and Veggie salad with Blackened Tofu added. WOW! Everything was SO delicious! The dressing on the Brussels with the grilled red onion and sesame seeds, just perfect. The crunch on the dumplings were just right and the dipping sauce was exactly the combination for dipping sauce I love (wasabi and soy)! The salad is delicious on its own but with the added blackened tofu it takes it to a whole new level! Your tastebuds will honestly thank you if you have any and/or all that we ate!
Read moreWe also had the most amazing server in Shawn. He was kind, attentive, funny, professional, with the best attitude and energy!! We also had the pleasure to meet Kate (not sure of the correct spelling) the manager who was also so kind and helpful!
I am so sorry I didn’t take pictures of the food, I was so busy eating such yummy food!
We will be back while in Key West and every time we visit again!

Breakfast was awesome- I couldn’t choose between the vegan shashuska (sp?) and the lemon blueberry pancakes- so the waiter hooked me up with just a single pancake to try with it. The mini key lime tatted are great. Oat and almond milk for your coffee

We got the vegan pizza with blackened tofu and the Gentle Giant Burger which was homemade and just absolutely delicious.

Delicious with lots of vegan options! - Edit
Nice restaurant with lovely outdoor deck for dining. Lots of vegan options in the menu. The brussel sprouts for appetizer were ok - not very crispy as I would have preferred. The tofu vindaloo with kale and rice was delicious! A very flavourful curry. The vegan carrot cake was divine! One of the servers we had was outstanding- went above and beyond. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Served me regular cheese on a pizza. Wasn’t terribly concerned with serving. - Edit
Server wasn’t very attentive. It seemed like he had better things to do than serve us. I asked about a vegan pizza. I was served a pizza with milk cheese. I was told by two people that it was vegan, then they came back- sorry, not vegan. I won’t be back.

Terrible service. - Edit
The waiter could have cared less we were vegan and we had to prompt him several times to ask about kitchen pizza ingredients. We finally got a pizza and right away we knew it was regular cheese on it. He was rude to tell us right away it was vegan. We sent it back. He later came out to agree that it was wrong.

Delicious vegan food - Edit
We visited Moondog twice during our week long stay- lunch and came back for the lemon quinoa blueberry pancakes at breakfast. For lunch I enjoyed the veggie burger. My kids are dairy free and even though there isn’t a kids menu, they made a “plain cheese” pizza with the vegan cheese. Oldest had the margarihta style one on the menu. They both loved it and had enough for leftovers. I was disappointed the vegan carrot cake wasn’t available when we went but the family enjoyed treats from the bakery case. You do need to confirm what is vegan/dairy free and available for the treats. It is a fun place / atmosphere and my omnivore husband also likes it.

Lots of options - Edit
Great vegan options, with variety as well! I didn't care for the wasabi-soy-ginger sauce the gyoza came with, and I was bummed they didn't have regular soy sauce to go with it. The vegan burger patty was good, the blackened tofu (for tacos) had so much flavor, and the lemonade was sweet, delicious and refreshing. They do have a few vegan dessert options as well, but they do NOT have vegan key lime desserts anymore. It was a whole fiasco, but one person working at the bakery glass case brought out a key lime pie and said it was vegan, then my waiter said it's not but they have a vegan key lime tart, then I bought that and was walking out with it when I noticed that in the bakery case, it only said it was gluten-free, no mention of it being vegan. I asked again if it was vegan, this time to the owner or manager, and he went back and checked again, and came out and said it's not and they haven't had that for years. I got a refund, but he wasn't very apologetic, besides suggesting that I don't need to leave our waiter a tip because of the mistake, which was unacceptable to me, so we left the same tip as before, gave the dessert to a non-vegan friend, and got our refund.
