Good if you're looking for a quick vegan lunch in the French Quarter - Edit
This place is in the French Market in New Orleans. It's just a place to order and a public seating area.
Read moreThey've got all kinds of New Orleans favourites, but in vegan form.
I was really looking forward to the beignets. I was a bit disappointed because the beignets were quite dense and dry. I probably compared them to the Belgian versions (which are more fluffy) too.
We had an okra gumbo and a Po'boy with fried artichoke, which was alright. The fried potatoes that came with the po'boy were the best.
Pros: local NOLA food veganised, good variety of vegan dishes
Cons: small public seating area, no non-alcoholic drinks (except water)

Great sandwich - Edit
The crab cake po boy was excellent. I think they were made from tofu but I couldn’t tell. Everything went well together. I also got beignets which were good but a little too oily. Take them to go, they’re better at room temp than freshly fried, and yes I know that’s blasphemy but in this case it was true.

Tres bon - Edit
Vegan beignets!! And they rip! Only place we saw that we could get these famous lil cajun doughnuts. The vegan gumbo and spicy “sausage” po boy were also excellent and it’s right in the French Market so great vibes and people watching

Vegan Beignets in the French Market 🍩 - Edit
One of the only spots in New Orleans where you can get vegan beignets! So it’s a must-try if you want the true New Orleans experience! They’re perfectly fried balls of dough… so what’s not to love? A fun, tasty stop while exploring the French Market.

Unassuming booth in the market. It was our first ever Beignets and they didn’t disappoint. We shared a portion of 4.

I got the vegan krab cake tacos and vegan beignets, and both were delicious! My friend got the gumbo and liked it as well. We were very pleased with how much food we got for the price.

Fun vegan options! - Edit
We really liked the Impossible tacos. They have vegan beignets, which were really good and it was amazing that someone made vegan ones! We got the gumbo, which was fun to try as well. It didn't taste like I was expecting, but since I assume they know what the flavor profile should be much more so than I do, I think I just didn't know what to expect. The crab cake is good and fun, but very small and $10. Having previously owned a vegan cafe, I know sometimes this is how it is. You just can't make something the size people think it should be for a price people will pay without losing money. I think this meal was around $50. I would certainly go here again. You find your own table somewhere in the outdoor space. We didn't have too much trouble getting a space for 4 and people were helping each other out in finding chairs and tables.

Great but a bit pricey - Edit
Really enjoyed the vegan “hot” sausage, got this and my friend got a small rice bowl and was about $24 - it was nice, also super fast, but was a bit expensive for what we ordered. The rice bowl was super small but the sausage sandwich came with some seasoned potatoes. So was substantial. It says it’s “reeeeealy hot” too and was very slightly spicy, but maybe that’s just me.

Vegan versions of NOLA foods - Edit
Open-air stall in the market with shared seating opposite. Separate vegan menu with loads of NOLA classics. My husband and I both tried the breakfast combo: grits, vegan sausage rounds, vegan eggs, fried bread. We also tried the pancakes and vegan beignets. It was all delicious.

The green menus seem to have all the vegan options! I had the beignets, which were great, and the okra gumbo, which was bland. I’d come back and try different things next time, since there are so many options!
