More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I became a vegetarian in 1997 because I feel that killing animals for food causes suffering. Obviously, there are other side benefits, including improving my health and reducing my impact on the environment.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

Happy Cow has been a great resource for finding vegetarian food, particularly while traveling. Hopefully joining the community will allow me to give back by reviewing restaurants and/or adding restaurants, particularly if I'm in out of the way locations.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I loved visiting Scotland and Barcelona, Spain. There are a tremendous number of places I would like to visit one day - Africa, China, many natural areas in the United States, and a lot of other places as well.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

I love anything made with fresh fruits and vegetables.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

If you haven't read 'Eating Animals' by Jonathan Safran Foer, it is a great read. It is terribly sad and hard to read at times, but a very well written personal journey as the author explores his decision to become vegetarian.
