Nice people with some good food - Edit
This place is in the French Market, which can be pretty dead when there are no tourists but very lively when there's something going on. We went during a Christmas parade, and the place was jumping.
Read moreI had vegan beignets, which were good. In fact, they made me hungry for more, so I had some beans and rice. That hit the spot. Flavorful and satisfying.
If you're in the area, and the French Market is open, check this place out. Get some vegan beignets. It's fried dough and powdered sugar. I don't know why the other places make it so complicated (involving animals).

Unbelievably Tasty Vegan Menu!! - Edit
Everything was beyond delicious. They have a whole separate menu for vegans/vegetarians! Our favorite things were the single vegan krab cake (we thought it was different than and a little better than the vegan krab Poboy), the vegan cheesy grits (omg! Yummy) and also the vegan beignets.
Read morePros: Ambience & setting was nice inside the market, Best vegan krab cake, vegan cheezy grits, Vegan beignets!

Best vegan food ever - Edit
I ate here twice in my 3 day trip. I had the vegan gumbo and also the vegan crab platter. And beignets. I cannot get over how amazing the food was. You can tell it is all fresh and cooked with love. Incredible. I appreciate you.

What a treat this place is! It seems unassuming, but the food is fantastic. They have an entire vegan menu with lots of choices. The Vegan Signature Krab cake is perfection! It actually tastes like a crab cake, and is dressed to the 9s with fresh lemon, greens, and sauce. 10/10 recommend if you ever liked crab.
Read moreI actually came here looking for some vegan beignets. The beignets were ok, but nothing to write home about. They were tiny compared to traditional beignets, and the bottoms of them were actually a bit soggy with oil.
Lastly though, I had the Just Egg scramble with spinach and cheese - YUM! Love, love, loved it. I would go back here in a heartbeat!

VEGAN BEIGNETS HERE! VEGAN GUMBO HERE!
Read moreSome vegan versions that you may not find elsewhere, right in the market!
The Vegan Beignets are delicious and aren't covered under an inappropriate amount of powdered sugar like some other non-vegan versions at other places. Really hope Meals from the Heart gets the support it deserves!

The only place I found with vegan beignets - Edit
Get the vegan beignets since you probably won’t find them anywhere else. It is overpriced compared to the non vegan ones at Cafe du Monde. I got the spicy sausage po boy and it was spicy af. They used Beyond Meat. I would probably recommend getting the sandwich with a different vegan meat. Wish I could have tried more there.

They have a full vegan menu at the counter with some tasty sounding options.
Read moreTried the vegan po’boy with a side of potatoes. Nice and spicy, good amount of food.
The vegan beignets were good, but I have nothing to compare them to since I’ve never had standard ones. Essentially a donut with powdered sugar.
Would definitely try this again since it’s one of the only good vegan options in that area.
Pros: Solid vegan options. , Location
Cons: A little pricey

Plenty of options but very slow - Edit
Came here twice on our trip, once for breakfast and once for beignets. The pancake breakfast was really good, but the pancakes do have a lot of lemon juice in them. The vegan beignets were also a rare find, though they were really tiny for the amount we paid for them, and it took about 45 minutes, so leave enough time for it!
