Delicious! - Edit
I had booked online before getting to venice and was glad I had as was busy. The front is very unimpressive and I thought I had made a big mistake, but the rear courtyard is lovely and the whole experience delightful. A few vegan options, I had ravioli which was delicious. I googled the organic wines on the menu and found a vegan one. The service was great, complimentary limoncello at the end.

Really worth it! - Edit
It is one of the best meal we had in Venice! The gourmet foccacia was super tasty and it was a good surprise to taste vegan bressaola (which is a traditional italian cold meat, so not vegan at all), the mix was perfect.

Pros: Several labelled vegan options, Two vegan deserts, Beautiful presented and tasty dishes

Great place and great food - Edit
One of the very few restaurants with a dedicated vegan menu. Food was delicious, original and well-presented. Not cheap but absolutely worth it. Also staff was charming and they have an extensive wine menu.

Good vegan selection for Venice - Edit
Only place in Venice I saw with a dedicated vegan section, including desserts. I had a lovely aubergine pasta which although small was tasty and the 'after eight' ice spaghetti which was very rich. Friendly staff and nice setting.
Read moreA meal for two with wine was around 90euro which for Venice isn't unusual but the portions were quite small.
Pros: Separate vegan menu
Cons: In the pricey side.

Our one meal out - Edit
Eating vegan in Venice is a real task, there are so so few options when it comes to eating out, this was our one trip out to eat. The staff were great and really accommodating of vegans. You wouldn’t know it if you didn’t go in but this is a completely authentic Italian restaurant with a WHOLE VEGAN MENU. I was blown away by their progressiveness, it was delicious, a memory forever.

Classic italian restaurant with vegan menu - Edit
Traditional venezian restaurant, with indoor and outdoor seating. Cozy backyard, shaded most of the day. Vegan section as part of the menu, which is rather thorough.

They have few vegan options but they are absolutely amazing. Very unique and very very delicious. If you come to Venice it’s a must to come to this restaurant for at least one meal. The staff are also extremely kind and joyful.

Enjoyable experience for special occasions - Edit
Really friendly staff and quality food. Having the vegan menu seperate is great but i was a little disappointed with the small portions given the price. The non vegan food had high reviews. They did bring out a mini starter for me however instead of the cheese they originally brought. Dessert was amazing. There is a service charge 12% as standard but felt uncomfortable being hinted at for a tip also.

A taste of Italian joy - Edit
Our first trip here did not disappoint, on previous visits to Venice finding vegan options was arduous but the fact that you have a separate menu & well informed, efficient staff means you are not left feeling like an awkward dinner guest. When I explained we couldn’t eat the small dish they presented before our meal they quickly changed it for a vegan version, without fuss.
Read moreWe had a starter & main course, the courgette tempura, couscous with vegetables & tagliatelle were all full of beautiful flavours & freshly cooked.
This is not a restaurant if your on a budget, Venice is not known for cheap food but well worth a visit if your looking for fresh food served with love & a great atmosphere.
Pros: Lots of fab vegan options, Great staff, Lovely atmosphere

Seek this place out! - Edit
I absolutely love this place! It might have been the highlight of our trip to Venice. They offer a separate vegan menu, and everything is seasonal, fresh and delicious! A huge shout out to the chef, Paulo! You can taste the love he puts into the food. The only reason I am not leaving a 5 star review is because happy cow will not let you leave 5 star reviews for non-vegan restaurants, but this place is so incredible! My friend was able to eat her meat and I had an amazing tagliatelle dish with mushrooms and creamy truffle sauce and red currants. It was so delicious! Our server was fantastic and taught us all about how food and beverage pairing works and the art and science behind it. I don’t drink, but he gave my friend tastes of different liquors and wine and taught her how and when to drink it and when to take a bite of food, what each type of alcohol does to the taste buds and how it works as a digestive. It was super interesting and he was so lovely. I wish we had gotten his name as well. We met the owner and of course our chef. I could not have been happier with our meal. My only regret is that we didn’t make it back for dinner! If I ever visit Venice again, this restaurant will be top on my list of places to eat. Make it a part of yours as well! It’s wonderful to be able to go to a restaurant that can perfectly accommodate everyone.

Delightful splurge - Edit
Had a really delightful evening meal here. Not a restaurant you’d expect up front to have a vegan menu but they do and it’s great. Very inventive and tasty offerings.
Read moreIt’s not cheap by any means though I don’t think prices were out of line with other similar Venice restaurants. Not an every night kind of place.
Only negative and it’s a mild one but I found the music being played for background to be some odd choices and not in keeping with the atmosphere otherwise. Did not detract from the dining experience overall but definitely did not add to it.
Pros: Dedicated vegan menu with great choices, Good and friendly service, Great place for a splurge meal
Cons: Expensive

Good vegan food - Edit
We enjoyed this place and the food was good but the other vegan restaurants in Venice had better more exciting food. This food was good but somewhat bland. We had the avocado and zucchini app, tempura veg with jam which were both good but not worth the price point. I had the ravioli (with a mashed potato centre) which was okay - could be a little more inventive there. My husband had the spaghetti with blank bean sauce which was better but lacked flavour as well. The desserts were really good though!!!! If you are looking for a good vegan meal you will certainly find it here just not anything to write home about.

Disappointing - Edit
I knew it was going to be expensive but the starter was extremely disappointing for €19! 4 slices of vegan bresaola filled with cream... the main was ok but overrated. I would not recommend this place.

Great vegan options and stupendous service. Half the menu is basically vegan, at well as half of the desserts. All of the food was very good and the mood was very fancy and romantic. 10/10 would eat again.

Character restaurant with an intriguing vegan menu - Edit
We selected this restaurant because of their intriguing vegan menu, which had 4 starters and 4 main courses, all a bit pricey yet each one was extremely delicious and even more fulfilling than the plate size would led us to believe. We had a reasonably priced organic Pinot Grigio from Trentino, which was also excellent and a good match for the food. The service was friendly, appreciative and quick. Depending on the other vegetarian options in Venice, we might come back as those other items on the menu sounded so good.

Slow service , noisy, overhyped and expensive - Edit
Waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order. 40 more minutes to receive the first course which was cubed zucchini and avocado with some jam on top, sprinkled with goji berries. After 40 more minutes of waiting, our main course still hasn’t arrived, so we left. The rather large room is so crammed with tables that it feels like your neighbor is eating on your lap. It’s incredibly noisy, we had to shout to be able to hear ourselves. How this place is full is beyond my comprehension. Absolutely awful.

fabulous and imaginative vegan food - Edit
I can’t rate this restaurant highly enough. I wish I could give it five stars! After a frustrating hour long walk around Venice looking for somewhere that might have a vegan option other that pizza without cheese my partner and I stumbled upon Mario Alla Fava. They have a separate vegan menu with starters, mains and desserts. Lots of the options are also gluten free. It’s always wonderful to find that a restaurant caters to vegan and gluten free diets, but Mario Alla Fava really went above and beyond. As soon as we let them know that we were vegan they brought us a vegan amuse-bouche and bread basket and couldn’t have been more gracious and helpful as hosts.
Read moreWe had a starter, main and dessert each and were really floored by all the food. It was so imaginative and full of flavour. The only time I’ve had vegan food made so creatively and to such a high standard was at a Michelin starred restaurant in the Aolian Islands.
We in fact loved it so much that we went again the second night. The After Eight dessert is the best dessert I’ve ever had vegan or not. I can’t of course vouch for the vegetarian options on the menu but everything I saw looked really good. We were sitting next to where they make the desserts and the millefeuille looked phenomenal.
We had a really special experience at Mario Alla Fava and will definitely return the next time we are in Venice. It’s important to note that the restaurant isn’t inexpensive but it’s most definitely value for money. A real experience, thank you.

Really wanted to like this more - Edit
It was nice to find a vegan-friendly finer dining spot but the food underwhelmed. We were sat outside under a blue light I assume was to kill flies which really destroyed the atmosphere and ability to see and enjoy the presentation of the food. Staff were friendly and helpful but we weren’t all that impressed with the food. After a few nights in Venice we went to another place.
