Little Taiwan in Okinawa!

Chinese vegetarian dishes at amazing 600 yen!! The owner was so friendly and he wanted to show me some rare Taiwanese vegan ingredients from his freezer. You should definety go if you are in that area, since Okinawa is NOT vege-friendly island, their traditional dishes are pork feet soup!!!

How to get there: yes it's a bit hard, from famous Kokusai street at around center, there is Heiwa dori arcade (very ugly, old passage) enter there and walk to the end at about 10 min. When you see sun shine again, ask somebody if they know Kintsubo Shokudo, vegetarian (BEGITALIAN) restaurant. Should be very close. Only open until 3:00-4:00 pm.

Healthy, inexpensive, and friendly

I loved this place. Not a fancy place, you sit where there's room (e.g with strangers) and you just take a tray and help yourself. Some have commented that the food was bland, but honestly, I disagree. It was simple, but flavourful. Super cheap, and run by really friendly helpful people. There was one non-vegan item and that's it.

A healthier buffet option

I enjoyed the food a lot. Not a single dish had visible oil. Everything was light and tasty.

Cozy, feels like family

Google and Apple Maps don’t have the correct location. Find a photo of the frontage and walk around the block.

It’s worth the extra hassle to enjoy a buffet lunch made by very nice people. Lots of options. Nothing fancy. Perhaps a bit bland but just throw in some chili paste.

Simple, delicious and simply the best

For 600 Yen, at the moment under 4€, you can eat all you can eat. Spices are minimalistic, but there are like 10 different things you can choose from. The owner is very friendly, you get to talk to people, that sit next to you, and even when its only 600 Yen, the owner gives a round of desserty crackers. Simply the best.

When we were there, only one dish was not vegan, because of egg in the salad. But the owner gave us a salad without the dressing. So kind and thoughtful to all the guests!

Great Price

A very nice and cheap buffet with healthy local vegetables, tofu and noodles! The people running this restaurant were so lovely and provided a great home atmosphere! If you want to taste unpretentious delicious Okinawa food, this is the place to do it!
But since we were staying at a hotel with a kitchen, I had already been preparing similar food myself pretty much every day, so I think I was looking for something a bit different.

Friendly hosts and good food

We had lunch at this place. Except 2 meals (with egg) everything else was vegan. They clearly understand "vegan/plantbased"!
The hosts were so friendly and helpful (if you don't know a dish, they explain it to you).
Food was good, price is cheap, atmosphere nice. Recommend!

nice place you should visit when in naha

i tried the food in kintsubo shokudo today and it was delicious.
i had the so called "viking" buffet (take what you like) and a chimaki - both was really good.
the owners are friendly, it is a small cozy place.

directions:
if you plan to come from kokusai-dori international street, walk down heiwa-dori and when you passed SHAKE HAND turn right on the next corner, you will see it on the left-hand side.

Pros: delicious food, cheap prices, chimaki

Cheap and tasty

Great owner, points out what's vegan. Which on the day we went it was all vegan. He would come and give us dishes not on the buffet which was very nice of him.

Sundays are takeaway only I'm sure.

Pros: Cheap, Nice owners , Usually vegan only

Great cost performance!

I’m a student on a budget and would have eaten here multiple times if I could have. For 600 yen it was all you can eat, including an especially delicious tofu dish. The owners were also very friendly. I will say, though, that the food hygiene was questionable - the dishes are not heated or refrigerated, and they were cooling a pot of soup with a fan. Still, I was fine!

Pros: Delicious, Crazy cheap, Friendly service

Cons: Might not be safe?

Simple but good restaurant

All-you-can-eat buffet restaurant with a really affordable price Almost everything is vegan, only one dish contains egg. Very friendly staff. The decoration is very simple and you cound even think it's not a restaurant from the outside, it's a place convenient for workers, local people...

Good buffet for breakfast

Kind place. When we entered, they explained us that it was all veggie, except one salade that contained eggs. So you'll have plenty of vegan choice, and it is pretty cheap. Many vegetables and some good mock meat. Enjoy.

Best value meal in Japan?

I went here for lunch and had an incredibly delicious and filling meal. The staff here were so friendly here and although they spoke limited English, they were able to show me the two dishes that contained egg, everything else was vegan.

There were a few locals here and for good reason, as the food and price here is unbeatable.

Definitely a hidden gem of Naha, I recommend to all to visit and support this lovely family owned restaurant.

Pros: Delicious food, Lovely staff, Incredible price

Simple food at an amazing price.

Situated near 国際通り,this place is a "rare" gem, selling nice Taiwanese style vegetarian food. Buffet style, eat all you can. Highly recommended for those on a budget. If you have a chance to see the boss wrapping rice dumplings, please give it a try, is really very nice.

Pros: Cheap

Cheapest meal you can ever get in Naha

I was on a budget while I was in Okinawa so this was a huge lifesaver! For just 600 yen you get an all-you-can-eat buffet selection with lots of flavorful vegetables and mock meats. I really liked their homemade rice dumplings which you can purchase separately for 250 yen. The eatery is small and a little messy but it has a down-to-earth vibe which reminds me of my country's Chinese eateries. The food is quite delicious but some dishes might be too sweet or salty. Remember to check with the staff and ask them which dishes contain honey or dairy. Overall I recommend this place for its value and taste.

Pros: Very cheap for a lot of food, friendly owner, convenient location

Cons: Some dishes might be too salty or sweet, Uses some honey or dairy

Great lunch for an amazing price!

The buffet actually cost 600 Yen! A great lunch for that price with relatively tasty food. Friendly owner whom can inform you of what dishes includes non-vegan stuff. For me it was only a sauce in one of the dishes.

Visited a few weeks ago and the current location on the map is correct...

Maybe they are too busy

It's a bit hard to find this restaurant because the google map is wrong... I went into the restaurant and no one serves me maybe they are too busy preparing foods. It's buffet with 10 kinds of food to choose from. You can also get rice or congee or miso soup there. The food is just so so. It's called Taiwanese food but I don't really think so. It's probably just some stir-fried veggie which looks like Taiwanese or Chinese. But Not really traditional Taiwanese food. (I am a hongkonger who has been in Taiwan for a few times). It's cheap after all.

When you are looking for some breakfast.

A lot of vegan friendly restaurants in Japan open around lunch time.
But this place offer breakfast buffet which was a life saver for me because I had to take a flight at 1pm.

You have the option of white rice or congee and some soup and the dishes laid out in front of you.
You can choose dumplings or spring rolls for the extra kick when you feel the side dishes don't seem too appealing.

Pros: cheap, delicious , lots of choices

Cons: a bit hard to find

Great buffet breakfast

We went to have breakfast at 8 AM and weren't disappointed. 600 yen all you can eat buffet. Everything was vegan on the day we visited but you probably should ask as they have different stuff every day. The lady working there spoke Mandarin and little English.

Affordable Taiwanese veggie/vegan friendlybuffet

600yen for a vegetarian/vegan buffet!
There was only one dish that had eggs in it. They served us one veggie springroll each, had rice and congee on the side and served lots of different cooked veggies, tofu and beans. I give the food 3.5/5. You'll definitely leave full and satisfied.

Pros: Inexpensive, All you can eat

Cons: Closes around 3pm, Greasy
