Fantastic, Fresh 100% Vegan Mexican - Edit
Edit: April 23, 2022
Read moreWe made a reservation thru Resy for 1:30pm, got there early and got seated right away, it wasn’t too busy for a Saturday which was nice. The food as always was delicious. Unfortunately the server was lacking in customer service and we waited 50 minutes (after speaking up) to get our food. The manager comped our meal which was pretty considerate.
I only wish they had a physical menu and also even more protein options. We had the kale pancakes and I would give those a pass. It just didn’t work.
Original review:
This location is extremely small! Our party of two arrived on a Saturday evening around 7pm and parties of three were being told there was a 2 hour wait! They use Yelp to help you see your place in line, so if you wanted to go somewhere else you could. However, there wasn't much around. There's no room inside to wait either, so plan ahead! We managed to get a seat at the bar, which was just fine, since we could order food and drinks.
In order of what we LOVED the burrito - you may think, eh a burrito, but the flavors were so satisfying. The pupusas (my first bite was kinda bland, but when you put the salad and sauce together it was nice) were ok and it was just cool to be able to eat something that is traditionally not vegan.
I would return! But not if I was in a time crunch or if it was cold outside.😄

Good food but tiny portions - Edit
The portion sizes were pretty small. Granted the food was cheaper than many other places, but we paid $8 for 5 tortilla chips and 1/3 cup of guacamole.

Very satisfying tacos! - Edit
I went here with my mom (who is not vegan), and we both raved about this place afterwards--in spite of sweating heavily in the outdoor seating area (be careful because it's a bit of a Greenhouse there).
Read moreOn the food, we ordered Gorditas with Chorizo and two taco orders (Spicy Birria and Crispy Chayote with guacamole)--my mom and I both agreed that the Gorditas were to die for, so much so in my mom's case that she only tried one bite of the other tacos in order to ensure the Gorditas were the last flavor she'd experience.
I, at least, really liked the other taco orders as well especially after adding the salsa and chipotle almond butter (what??) that came with the Birria and Chayote tacos respectively.
And for the two of us, getting three plates to share (there were two of each taco/gordita) was the perfect amount of food, so it was fairly moderate pricing compared to other vegan options in the city.
That said, we did get two desserts to go (the Raspberry Cheesecake and the Peanut Chocolate Cake) which were just ok. Not sure I'd recommend those, personally, but all the "main" dishes we got were amazing!
Pros: Easy to share--like tapas, Lots of unique options, Very friendly staff
Cons: Desserts are just ok, Outdoor seating gets super hot

Best food I’ve had in ages - Edit
Their fish tacos are made with thick slices of squash and I was skeptical but it was the best thing I’ve eaten in months, maybe longer. Flan was delicious, almond horchata so refreshing. The verde enchiladas were definitely something to write home about, with the rice side coming with them so excellent it could be a meal on its own. The jackfruit tamales were very soft and warm, very filling. I would move to NYC just to eat here.

High-End Mexican Vegan Food. A Key Vegan Restaurant in NYC. - Edit
Ja Ja Ja is a trendy, creative vegan Mexican eatery that was always busy during the times that I ordered from there. The high price-points of the dishes here show that this isn't the type of restaurant you'll go to every week.
Read moreInstead, it is a great place to go to celebrate something: a birthday, an achievement, your first time in New York, or even yourself!😉
I loved each dish I've tried here: The Breakfast Torta, The Raspberry Cheesecake, Chorizo Burrito, the Coconut Dulce De Leche Churrito.

The decor and ambiance are wonderful. I loved the nachos the most, and the eggplant torta was great, but simply too large for one person. The drinks are so great too. Fresh and bright.

Just absolutely love this place! Obsessed with the nachos and frozen aperol spritz! Even all my Omni friends love it. Great ambiance and service! Really really missing it in 2020 during Covid!!! Chinatown location has small seating area outside. West village also has some outdoor seats. Takeout is always an option!

outstanding food!!! - Edit
this place was on my waiting list for a while... well, finally tried it and now im planning on visiting as often as possible to cover everything they have to offer!
Read morethe food is not only ingenious, its flavorful and well, delicious! the chorizo and specially the barbacoa tacos are incredible, you can tell theres a lot of work in marinating these "meats" with the right spices and herbs, theres a lot going on flavor wise. the desserts (coconut dream cake) has a perfectly smooth texture, the churros are excellent with the coconut dulce de leche to go with.
they got a big fan here and looking forward to trying the whole menu. this place would even satisfy non vegans as well, and fans of mexican gastronomy to get their vegan fix.

Worth the wait to get into this busy authentic plant based Mexican jem. - Edit
If you want to try the best plant based food in lower Manhattan, you have found it. Flavours and textures that are on point. I have a new appreciation for jackfruit because of this place. The food was fabulous. The atmosphere was lively and fun. It was worth waiting for a table and I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

Great food and styling, generous portion - Edit
I visited only briefly because I really wanted to try their famous nachos. They were great, even though a bit too spicy (I ordered non-spicy). The portion was huge so I had no space left for a dessert! Need to visit next time to try more. Staff were really nice and helpful.
