So good - Edit
I got their momosa with juice of the day which was kale oj and ginger. It was really good. I got the Reuben with no pickles, no Thousand island dressing replaced with cashew cheese and potato salad. Hubby got the smothered burrito and cornbread with butter. Daughter got Mac and cheese with crumb topping (came with apple slices on the side). Everything was huge portions and great flavor. Definitely worth the price of the meal. The burrito was huge and had to be eaten with a knife and fork but was very easy to do so.

Delicious food - Edit
Came here with my nonvegan friends and family. They all loved the food! Everything was delicious and not too expensive. The desserts were a little bland

I had the smothered burrito and it was amazing! Then I got the buffalo Mac and cheese balls and those were really good with their house made ranch.

Love everything in theory, the food a bit bland - Edit
I went here to eat 3 times during my stay in Austin and really wanted to love it. The vibe was great and the service was attentive, and everything on the menu sounded amazing, there was just that little extra something that was missing, that I can not quite put my finger on.

Great escape from the heat - Edit
Cozy restaurant; found plenty of parking around lunchtime, and was impressed by an all-vegan menu, with lots of variety, and friendly staff.

Unimpressed 🤷♀️ - Edit
I love that they’re fully vegan and gf-friendly as well! But I’m sorry to say that the food was only okay. It seems like they rely on just combining ingredients you can buy at the store without much concern for flavor Or originality. My sandwich was pretty dry and lacked flavor.

Hi there sloth- We have tried to send you a message but we are not sure if you have received it.
Read moreSorry we missed the mark on your sandwich. We would love to learn from this but aren't sure what you got.
We make everything from scratch- one of the few restaurants in Austin to do so. No Daiya, Impossible, Beyond or Just Egg. We make 3 types of seitans, all of our cheezes, bacun, sauces, marinades and even our ketchup and mayo. You can't buy any of these at the store.
If we had known you were dissatisfied while you were here we would have happily fixed your sandwich or offered you something else. We are sorry we didn't have that chance.

Perfect little date spot - Edit
I still can't get over how amazing the lavender lemonade mimosa here is. Perfectly tart with just a hint of lavender. We also loooved the buffalo mac n cheez balls and, of course, the sandwiches we got (highly recommend the cold cutz sammie!). I only wish we had enough room in us to try more things. Totally worth a return trip.

Favorite Food in Austin - Edit
Every time I visit Counter Culture, including yesterday, I’m knocked out by their food. I’ve worked my way thru most of the menu with the Southern Baked Seitan, their Pizza, their Mac & Cheeze, and their Cheezesteak sandwich being some of my favorites. But I highly recommend trying their daily specials. Yesterday I got their Jackfruit Crabcakes with a hollandaise sauce, and it was *the bomb*! Perfecto! Amazing!

Good Food, Good Selection - Edit
We ate here in 2017. It was good, the staff was friendly, the place was clean and nice. I had the bean burger and French onion soup. Four of us shared a few desserts. The key lime pie was especially good. Everyone enjoyed their food.

Overall the food was good, but I've had better at other locations. We ate the nachos and the buff mac balls. All of the food was good, but we felt like it could use more spice and depth of flavor

Good “Cheese” - Edit
Since going plant-based, the thing I miss the most is cheese. I had the cheese platter here, and it was really good! The kale salad with garlic dressing was also great.

Scrumptious vegan eats - Edit
I've been here a bunch and have yet to eat/drink something I didn't thoroughly enjoy!
Read moreCounter Culture always has unique creative specials that blow me away. There are other vegan eateries/food trucks in Austin, but none that have specials that reach outside of the box like Counter Culture. There are weekly special menu items (have a look on facebook or instagram if you are curious) and then special brunch eats on the weekend. I saw a picture of one of their brunch specials on Instagram yesterday and had to go in for it today.....local Rockstar-brand Everything bagel smothered in HOMEMADE roasted garlic cream cheeze with cucumbers, roasted red peppers, and greens. Who knew a bagel sandwich could render me speechless and leave me wanting more and more and more and more?! Seriously, that homemade roasted garlic cream cheeze was the best vegan cream cheeze I've had hands down. Soooo scrumptious!! Counter Culture not only has it goin' on in the homemade cream cheeze department, but also with all vegan cheezes. I used to be skeptical of homemade vegan cheezes (If I'm honest, skeptical=scared) but Counter Culture has made trying homemade vegan cheezes truly a delight!
A few of my faves: Spicy baked Artichoke dip, Cheese plate, Pacman salad, Rueben sandwich, Asian BBQ Seitan skewers, and the Breakfast burrito is my absolute fave burrito here in Austin.
Counter Culture is a MUST if you're visiting Austin!
Pros: outside seating (dog friendly) that is shaded, lots to choose from, awesome brunch
Cons: parking can be a pain, street fills quick

Best breakfast place but not open for breakfast. - Edit
If I could have the biscuits and gravy at Counter Culture every other day I'd be a happy fat man. Unfortunately, they don't open until 11 a.m. which I find odd for a place with such great breakfast fare. Parking is limited, but I've never had a problem myself. The food is a lot better than the atmosphere (I always wonder how anybody could stand to work in the confines of that awful paint job), but the patio is basic and relaxing.

Cute brick and mortar, patio, yummy - Edit
Cute little brick and mortar all vegan, only one of three currently in Austin (others being beer plant and citizen), nice little outdoor patio, fun happy hour with yummy apps, super nice owner, always friendly wait staff, tasty food (Mac balls, nachos, artichoke dip, nachos, tuna melt, pastrami reuben, coconut cream pie, key lime pie, and weekend brunch - biscuit bowl, brekkie burrito).

One of the best vegan restaurants I've been to - Edit
There wasn't a lot of parking available, just a small little 3-car 'lot' in addition to street parking, but my friend and I were lucky to get a spot. The interior is a striking blue with some very unique and cool paintings. My friend and I shared the artichoke dip, quesadillas, and the mac and cheese. For sides, we got cornbread, sesame slaw, and the potato salad. Everything was really delicious. The quesadillas were the right amount of spicy as was the artichoke dip. The chips weren't my favourite texture, as they were a little on the thick side, but honestly everything was so delicious. The mac and cheese is a contender for the best vegan mac and cheese I've ever had. We got a dessert to split as well, which was really great. I enjoyed everything I ate there very much, and the service was really friendly. If/when I'm in Austin again, I will definitely be back!

Nope - Edit
Really excited to try vegan place. Walked in nobody cared. Servers acted like they were doing me a favor to acknowledge me and take my order. Went with my sister and both our dishes were very bland and small portions. Would've even given them a second chance with the food but the service was such a turn off. No thanks.
