Counter Culture has a wonderful, all plant based, diner-like menu. Everything is good. Seitan and fresh ingredients are their sweet spots. Highly recommend!

Enjoy every sandwich---Warren Zevon
Read moreCounter Culture is quite alright. During my Austin vegan food tour you can only eat so many vegan tacos as much as they are amazing.
I decided to change it up by ordering a Tempeh Reuben Sandwich with a Pac Man Kale Salad. Both were solid. Friendly service. There is a patio outside that is dog friendly so bring your canine friend if you like.
Pros: innovative vegan cuisine, healthy options

Very tasty food, great service - Edit
The food is prepared with care and we enjoyed everything we ordered: artichoke dip and chips, pastrami sandwich with a side of potato salad, and the buffalo cauliflower pizza. It felt healthier than all the other places we have eaten at in Austin where the majority of vegan options are sugary and/or really fatty. Cool vibes and eclectic collection of music in the restaurant too.

Adorable little diner! - Edit
My family and I spent the day in Austin and tried out Counter Culture for the first time. Fantastic food, delightful staff. Truly a great experience. The food is incredibly healthy too, with whole plant foods, whole wheat breads, and creamy cashew sauces. I was too stuffed to try the desserts, hopefully next time.

Reuben and tiramisu= heavenly - Edit
Ordered for pickup here when traveling thru. Got the Reuben and the tiramisu. The Reuben is insanely good and the tiramisu is out of this world. Both are two of my fav foods and they did an exceptional job at counter culture.

We loved the nachos! we ordered them with the bbq jackfruit and beans, they were to die for! We also had the pastrami sandwich, it was also really good.

Try the Michelada! - Edit
My partner and I came here for dinner one night when driving through Austin. Great food, great service. The michelada was the best one I’ve ever had! We ordered the Korean bbq skewer as an appetizer, the rueben sandwich and the banh mi. We both had the pac man salad as a side, which was also very very delicious. Everything was tasty, but maybe avoid the banh mi because it was much plainer than everything else.

Super cute spot! Small and quaint. I had the sub, my boyfriend had the Reuben, and we shared nachos (huge portion) and Mac and cheese balls. I personally didn’t love the balls but my boyfriend did. Everything else was so delicious!

AWESOME - Edit
Came here while visiting Austin and the food did not disappoint, I got the macaroni balls, bbq seitan sandwich, and a slice of tiramisu cake. Everything was amazing, and next time I’m in Austin I will have to come back! Unfortunately you can only order to go right now, but it is worth it none the less.

Great sandwiches! - Edit
We had dinner on the patio in mid February. The service was great and the sandwiches were sooooo good. We had the reuben and the seitan sub and they were both very tasty. We got the tiramisu cheezecake and the vanilla cake for dessert. Well, we weren't a big fan of the desserts. The tiramisu was okay, but not great. The cake was not good. Oh well! 🤷♀️ I love what Counter Culture stands for and their sandwiches are delicious! 💚

Delicious, reliable, conscientious - Edit
Counterculture is delicious, consistently open and awesome, and they communicate when they will not be open. They have been trying to cope with the pandemic in the most ethical ways possible, serving as much/often as they can, and still trying to protect their staff.
Read moreSomething I have always loved about them is that they are very conscientious and try to not produce excess waste. If you look at the waste bins behind their building, you will find the recycling cans out number the trash cans by like 5 to 1. They also compost everything they can. You’ll find them not wasting a bunch of plastic and packaging. I love that.
And the food is great.
