We enjoyed Chaia’s delicious food for several years and always appreciated having a fully vegetarian restaurant our whole family could enjoy. We were disappointed to learn that they are no longer entirely vegetarian. It is a real bummer for our family, as that was a big part of what made Chaia so special to us.

Tasty but small portions. This restaurant is not vegetarian, they serve chicken. However, most items had a “vegan” option to input on the kiosk.

Their nachos I was able to get them to make it vegan and tried a couple vegan tacos! They were delicious!! 🤤… I was to recreate the nachos but I’m afraid I won’t be able to. It was so flavorful with the flavor hitting every different taste bud on your tongue. The eggplant taco was so good! And I don’t trust many people’s eggplants 🍆 lol.. it was delicious though!

There is some good variety here for vegans, but I would’ve liked to see a bit more fillings in my tacos. My favorite part of my meal were the blackness and rice. Soooo good!!

We really enjoyed our meal at Chaia. The nachos were definitely the standout. My kids got small quesadillas and we tried a mushroom taco too which was great, but the nachos with all of the toppings were such a treat. Would love to come back!

Read moreWhen I arrived, a woman working there explained the way the menu worked and what dishes could not be made vegan which made ordering easy. You order on a computer screen which was fine and pretty straightforward. For the taco trio I had three different types of tacos, I had the roasted eggplant, the chipotle sweet potato hash and the braised mushroom. The tortillas were homemade and really delicious, the hero was the braised mushroom and I wished I had gotten three of those, the other two were good but not as exciting. The habanero salsa went well on everything and is not as spicy as you expect a habanero sauce to be which was nice. The beans were delicious and a nice addition to my meal. I went to eat upstairs to have a bit more quiet which was nice. I would come back again alone or with friends.

I got 3 sweet potato hash tacos and the pesto rice, fulfilling to me, cannot complain. Seemed to cater well to my gluten free friend (I’ll change this if I receive updates later). I will say- the electric ordering they had made it awkward as options like the 3/trio tacos wouldn’t show when trying to order- so it would’ve just been nice to have a person/cashier who can take in everything and make it run smoothly so that lines don’t ramp up. Not a lot of options, but I did enjoy what I got so I’ll give props wear it’s due.

I was underwhelmed by my order at Chaia. I ordered 3 tacos and nachos. I ordered the braised mushroom, creamy kale & potato, and the chipotle sweet potato hash. I liked the sweet potato hash the most. The nachos were ok but nothing I would write home about.

i keep coming back here anytime i’m in georgetown because i loved it that much! i got the verde enchiladas and it’s delicious. the vegan cheese is 💯. it’s in a very cute location on the georgetown waterfront and it also has extra seating upstairs which is adorable. definitely will be back again!

The tacos are unique and some can be made vegan upon request. My favorite was the rainbow carrot and pea shoot, because it was texturally unique. The corn tortillas were delicious. If you’re really hungry, the taco trio may not fill you up, fair warning. The tacos are small but tasty. Free water was a nice touch.

I really thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant more than I expected to. The dishes (all except one can be vegan) are so impressive. The tacos are simple with only 2 or 3 ingredients and so flavorful. This is probably the first time ever I sat down for Mexican style food and didn’t ask for hot sauce because the food was that good. The quesadilla was a bit too greasy for me, but whenever I go back I’d probably just order tacos.
