Spoke with the shop owner today (Charlotte). She's said that due to personal reasons the shop has been sold and she closes tomorrow (25th October). However if you manage to get there before that, incredible waffle and ice-cream!! 🥰

The vegan waffles are incredible! Especially when combined with the chocolate or caramel sauce and a scoop of ice cream. They offer hazelnut, chocolate, mango and some more common flavours but she also offered asparagus flavour. Wasn’t brave enough to try that though so I got a waffle with hazelnut ice cream and chocolate and caramel sauce. Easily one of the most delicious waffles I’ve ever had. Will definitely go back!!

Due to covid 19 the restaurant changed (temporarily) to being an ice saloon. All ice cream is vegan and really delicious. A lot of the flavours are sugarless as well. The best for me are the special flavours like soy sauce, avocado, ... But the standard flavours are available as well.

Before, when they were still a restaurant, we enjoyed the food. Eating there gives you a homy feeling. Everything tastes good. Now, you can still take away the daily menu's.

It doesn't matter if you are whole plant based or not. Everyone is gonna like this. For me, the best part of Charlotte's icecream is that most of them are sugar free and at the same time so delicious. This time i've tried the avocado-mint and mokka. I am amazed. And if you ever got the chance, try the beetroot icecream. Doesn't sound like it but it became even my favourite. (:

I haven't eaten that many vegan waffles in my life, but I've had some here and there over the years, and this one was definitely the best I've ever had!
I've had a taste of strawberry (fruity!), white chocolate (crunchy!), dark chocolate (full of flavour!) and.... beetroot (wait...what?). Yes, beetroot. It doesn't sound sexy at all, but it was really, really good. Somehow, the owner got the flavour just right, and it was like a cool beetroot melting in my mouth.
Kudos to the owners!

This is now the first VEGAN restaurant in Bruges! Fall 2018)
(up til 2017 this was a rather traditional resto - so it could also not get 5 star rating on HC since not veg).
This review is from a visit beginning of Summer 2018 (when they were vegetarian - nearl all vegan).
We had a lovely lunch. bruchettas, and lasagtne and the chef's stew as main.
Unfortunately, there was no dessert available that visit.
Nice food, although prices have gone up considerably. (no at 15-18 for a main).
This is from a visist end 2017 (Vegan options standardly available - since Fall 2017).
As an appetizer we had bruchetta and chervil soup. Pasta arabiata and couscous with grilled vegetables as mains. Vegan dessert was sold out that evening unfortunately.
Good value for money (especially for the city center of Bruges!, its actually pretty cheap!)
Small family run bussiness. Cosy small.

I couldn't help but feel disappointed... After having outstanding vegan waffles with toppings and ice cream in Brussels, I thought I was going to get something similar, but what I ordered was more expensive at a whopping €8 (!) and had barely any toppings. The waffle itself tasted fine but without enough sauce, it was dry and not what I paid the extra money for. The lunch dishes from the limited menu actually did look quite nice but I don't think I'll be back to try it. The place was too pricey compared to other vegan places in Belgium and the music that day was a little depressing too.

... and was cured at De Brugsche Tafel! Runned by a sweet family, with a super nice and cozy place, and wonderful waffles!!!!!!!! Was so crazy for them, and finally got them!!! So happy!!! Ordered two, one with white chocolate topping, other with strawberry. Plus hot cocoa and cappuccino. And two more waffles to take away. Simply wonderful. The owners are mega friendly, and they have a lovely daughter. Loved it!

The waitress was super nice, the music playing was really cool and chill, the food was tasty and the vegan waffle we had with white chocolate and ice cream was delicious (my non-vegan boyfriend loved it).

We had the ramen and the coconut korma. The portions were large and the food was delicious and healthy. The restaurant also offers tap water, which isn’t the case everywhere in Bruges. It’s pricey (€20 for a main), but I think that reflects the quality of the ingredients. The only thing stopping me from giving it 5* is that the service was quite slow - but we did go in during the lunchtime rush.

Main kitchen was closed when we visited, but I had the hot chocolate with whipped cream and a waffle with speculoos sauce, cream and banana, and both were fantastic. Service was quick and friendly.

Amazing vegan waffles with a decent range of toppings. Can eat in or takeaway - good central location. Only one person serving the whole café, which was full, so services was a bit slow (the person was doing the best they could, just needed an extra pair of hands!). Small lunch menu sounded good, but was just their for the waffles.

Lovely cafe with amazing food. Had the best soup I have ever eaten and it was perfect for a cold day! The Vegan waffle was delicious too!
Read moreOnly downside was the lady was not overly keen to serve me and I had trouble gaining her attention when I wanted to order. I think that the service could have been better and she should have approached me when I entered and welcomed me into the cafe, rather than ignoring me.
