Best travel stop - Edit
We love visiting this restaurant and were looking forward to eat organic ayuverdic vegan food while traveling through interstate hwy 40. We have visited the one in Santa Fe, NM but not the one in Albuquerque yet.
Read moreMeals were delicious and service was friendly and helpful. I chose the vegan sampler which includes sambhar, vada, coconut chutney, and mini dosa. Hubby chose the vegan thali. Delicious and satisfying!
I purchased desserts to go: pecan pie and coconut pie. Yummmm. We enjoyed them through out the rest of our journey.
We will definitely be back when or if we pass through Albuquerque again.
Thank you for the meals!
Pros: Tasty, Healthy and organic , Ayuverdic

A Kitchen Away from Home - Edit
I go here when I don't want to cook for myself, sometimes mutliple times a week. AP's has a great menu that is varied enough, but not crazy. The New Mexican/Indian/ sometimes-other-things fusion hits the right buttons--great healthy burritos smothered in chile, check, vegan pad thai for when you want that sweet and sour coconut milk, check, heaping bowl of rice and veggies when you want some warm nourishment, check.
Read moreI would say their pecan pie is worth trying, and their vegan chai, but the dessert options generally are its weakest link.
Go here. Come back. Make it regular. You'll enjoy.

Four stars - Edit
Tasty, but not mind blowing. Decent prices and a huge menu in a cozy atmosphere. The masala dosa I had could have used a lot more spice and the dosa itself was a bit undercooked, but overall it was a filling and decent meal

Beautiful atmosphere - Edit
Great, funky atmosphere with a peace and colorful art vibe. Serves milk products. This might be the cleanest place Albuquerque has for offering. I myself was looking for more raw, fresh foods. Although most everything is cooked, it is smartly combined, is clearly made from scratch and delicious. Gluten-free options labeled. Relaxing, chill. Glad it’s here.

My go-to! - Edit
Coming to Annapurna’s makes long days at UNM better! The food is tasty and there are lots of choices and price points so if you want something small or a full meal, it’s good. The soy chai tea is always good, too, and it comes with a free refill!

Surprise this place is labeled as vegetarian but they actually have a lot of vegan options. The food was fresh and good. If you want something that isn’t labeled as vegan you can ask and they will make it vegan for you

Love! - Edit
A lovely laid back restaurant, I appreciated the ayurvedic consciousness + approach to the meals. I had the ABLT wrap - the homemade wrap was delicious, + a soy milk chai - other plant based milks were available too. Highly recommended!

Not bad - Edit
I got the ABLT on chapati, garden salad, soup of the day, hummus, idli, and then later on the focaccia bread with dal. To be honest the best thing about the meal was the chapati bread itself, the salad (which was fresh and crunchy), and ranch dressing. Also their ginger molasses cookies were unbelievably good! Overall, it’s not great. I just felt like it was lacking in flavor and could have had more spices. I felt like I had to combine all these different dishes to really bring out the flavors. Also, it was very expensive, and I’m not sure if it’s really worth it to go here just to get the ginger molasses cookie.

Annapurna's - Edit
My husband and I loved eating at Annapurna's and we visited them all over the city. The food is really delicious with a lot of vegan options and, as a yoga teacher, I appreciated the ayurvedic consciousness and approach to the meals. They felt very balanced and were filling and the desserts were amazing!

Wow! Stopped here on my way through Albuquerque and I'm so glad I did. I had the breakfast scramble with a dosa and it was so flavorful and delicious!
Read moreThe vibe in the cafe is pretty laid back. You order at a counter and sit with a number and they bring you your food. The staff is limited so it is not a quick experience so I'm grateful I felt it was so worth the wait.
Oh, and I grabbed a bag of cardamom cookies on the way out for the road. Whoa. They are absolutely perfect. Such a pleasant flavor and not cloyingly sweet at all.
Pros: Delicious Food, Relaxed Atmosphere, Lots to choose from
Cons: Fairly slow service

Every December for 10 years I have had a work project in Albuquerque, and this has been my go-to place for much of that time. Their teas and desserts are fantastic, and the menu is so big there is always something new to try!

Quality over Quantity - Edit
This restaurant has a huge menu, they are all over the place and this makes it hard for them to make a few good dishes. I think if they cut their menu in half, they could work on their authenticity and help their employees focus on each dish.

We LOVE Annapurna's! - Edit
I can never bring myself to order anything other than their breakfast burrito! I know it's an Indian restaurant but it's just soooo good! Tofu scramble with their awesome fries inside and topped with green chile and pico de gallo! Mmmmm. Oh and don't forget the vegan cheese on top. If you order the fries they come with vegan mayo dipping sauces! I also love their soy chai ❤️

Sort of disappointing - Edit
My priority is always to support local business, but I have a hard time being enthused about Annapurna's. I've been to this location a half dozen times and to their 4th street location as well, and had fairly similar experiences in both. In my opinion, the food is overpriced for what you get, and not particularly hot or flavorful. Their staff is generally not too friendly, but that doesn't bother me that much. What really grinds my gears about this place is how slow and inconsistent it is. Last time I went, I was with two friends. They got their meals 30 or 40 minutes after we ordered at the counter, and were already finished before mine came out, some 20 minutes later. That wasn't an isolated incident, either--it's happened before. When I have vegan friends in from out of town, I generally try to steer them elsewhere if they are looking for good vegan food. On a more positive note, they have a great selection, and I like that there are so many vegan options.

YUM! - Edit
I love this place. The dosas are awesome (especially with the ABLT), all the dinners I've tried have been great, and there are a lot of delicious drink options.
Read moreMy only complaint is the desserts. I've tried three different ones and been VERY disappointed each time. They just taste too....healthy. If I want a healthy dessert, I'll eat an apple. These desserts are what people think of when they mentally build the "sad vegan food" stereotype. I wish they had at least a couple options for a more "normal" dessert option.
Pros: Food options and quality, Location
Cons: Desserts

great find - Edit
Thanks to Happy Cow we found a wonderful restaurant. Our first night here we had take out. Not huge portions but very filling. So we returned this morning for breakfast! The burritos were awesome and huge. We took enough home for breakfast tomorrow. We also are some of the bake goods. They were also great! I would recommend this to anyone.

Lovely Indian food - Edit
We went to Annapurna looking for a early dinner, and they delivered fantastic Indian food for us. From order to serve was about 10min and both the taste and the presentation was wonderful. We tried 3 Indian dishes and they were great. They have traditional American food like burgers as well - other customers had this and it looked quite good...

Vegan Food that's Comforting - Edit
This was my very first visit....I'll be back. Thanks HappyCow.
Read moreWhen 1st walking in, I was unsure what to do (do I wait to be greeted, do I find my own table) the girl behind the counter must have saw my confused look-she asked of I'd ever been there- she told me to take a menu, have a seat, the. Go back to order when ready....
I have to say it was a little overwhelming since I'd never been- I ordered and it came out fast and was good. It was a very large portion (I took over half home with me).
I asked for a to go box and she brought me a paper bag, foil, and container -a bit of a strange experience but good overall.
