Delicious brunch and burgers

I can't wait to try the roast dinners here. If the brunch and burgers are anything to go by I'm in for a treat. Been here a couple of times. Nice staff and service. It's a little bit pricey but worth every penny for a treat.

Good meal

Loved the Sunday roast. Burgers were not a hit for me, too oily and weird tasting burger sauce.

Tasty and worth a visit, but it's pricey

Great atmosphere and cool venue. If you like burgers, you'll be spoilt for choice here. The truffle burger was delicious, and the chips were incredible, but it's very expensive.

Pros: Tasty burgers , Lots of choice , Gorgeous looking venu and nice vibe

Cons: Overpriced - £16 for a burger with no fries, £1.45 for tiny bit of Ketchup that should be free

One of the tastiest vegan beef burgers i have had

I loved the taste of the burgers, especially the truffle beef burger. The fries were very well seasoned and tasted baconey ! 🤌🏻❤️

Banging roast dinner

Took my non vegan friend here for a Sunday roast dinner and we both loved it. The Yorkshire pudding was immense and a great selection of veggies and gravy to go with the roast potatoes, sausages, cranberry sauce and stuffing ball.

Only a very small venue. Close to Manchester Arena. Staff were nice. Serves all kinds of burgers and loaded fries too.

OK - but nothing special

The best things about this place are the decor the friendly staff and the desserts, which are tasty but a bit small for the price.

The food is OK, but nothing special. We’ve been here a couple of times in thee last year and both times the burgers was only lukewarm and drenched in sauce.
The overkill on the sauce not only makes the burgers impossible to eat as intended, but also cools down the fried filling, reducing the comfort and flavour of the burgers.
The brioche buns also could be hotter and (more) toasted to stop the burgers becoming a tepid, soggy mess. #Veganuary

Pros: Nice decor, Friendly staff, Tasty desserts

Cons: Tepid burger drenched in sauce, Sloppy & soggy burger, impossible to eat

Creative and delicious - but prices are often outrageous

The food is great. I've been three times. I'm yet to be disappointed in the food (except fries, see below). Biscoff cheesecake one of the best I've ever had - vegan or otherwise. I've previously had the Korean tofu and duck bao small plates - both were amazing. Then the Jaffa cake cake - the orange bit is exactly how I remember Jaffa cakes. 5* all round so far.

The prices are outrageous. £12 and usually considerably more for a burger with no fries is shameless. You could literally get two vegan burgers, two fries and two drinks for that in Maccies. I did order fries, which were simultaneously burned, cold, and soggy - and at £4.25 a total ripoff. Add another £1.45 if you want a tiny pot of ketchup. £14 for breakfast is an abomination.

Location is slightly out of town and slightly ghetto - Covent Garden pricing in a backstreet railway arch.

Pros: Creative and delicious food, Cute space with a good vibe, Biscoff cheesecake omg

Cons: Prices can be outrageous e.g. £14 for breakfast, £12 for a burger with no fries FFS, Slightly out of town and slightly ghetto location

Great food, friendly staff

Went just before Christmas for the Sunday roast - just before a gig at the arena which is just over the road. Small, busy place, lovely food and friendly staff. All vegan, so what's not to love :-)

Pros: Great food, Friendly staff

Cons: Quite a small place - book in advance

Festive Feast

We had an excellent 3 course Christmas meal on the Saturday before Christmas ; Very tasty food, great value, and relaxed service.

Soup starter was amazing, friends had the pate which was also excellent. Main was regular Sunday lunch with extra trimmings and wings as the main part. We had various desserts all excellent and particularly loved the pecan toffee cheesecake.

Would highly recommend for a vegan treat. So nice to be able to choose everything on the menu, will be back for the burgers

Great food close to the arena

A great selection of different burgers. We had the OG burger and the festive one.

It was a bit expensive when paying extra for fries/sauces and they didn't have any lager left which is why it's only 4 stars. I would definitely return next time I'm at the AO Arena as it's right by it.

Best Vegan grub in Manchester!!

I visited Wholesome Junkies with my friends before going to a gig at AO Arena and we were blown away by the food and drinks here.
Me and my partner are vegan and our two best friends aren’t, but they always enjoy trying new vegan places with us.
I had two small plates instead of a main from the festive menu (Pig in blanket which was a sausage in bao bun, and the truffle Mac n cheese.)
Both were SO yummy. I was blown away by the mac n cheese and didn’t want it to end ever!
My friends and partner loved their food too.
I also had the raspberry cocktail which was yummy!

The staff were so lovely and welcoming, the atmosphere was great and I loved how cosy the place felt. Amazing decor!
Will 100% be back again as soon as I can!

Pros: Mac n Cheese, Cosy atmosphere, Friendly staff

Cons: Literally nothing

Tasty!

100% book a table as this place is tiny and gets very busy, we still had to wait a little bit even though we booked. This place was super cute, lovely interior. Food was absolutely fantastic although small portions and pretty expensive but the food is so tasty it’s worth it. Great little place tucked away by the arena.

Amazing food, the chick'n bites make you question if it's actually chicken. Cool place tucked away, quite small, just behind the Manchester Arena. Perfect for pre-gigs. Really popular, they had to turn several people away without reservations, so I thoroughly recommend booking ahead. You won't be disappointed. My only regret is not being able to order everything.

They were at vegan campout this year too, but I missed them. There was too much choice. I wanted to try their battered oyster shrooms.

Well, I hope you get the chance to try it soon. Places like this make me want to move to Manchester! I'm back again in a few weeks. I usually like to try new places every time, but I think I'll be tempted to come back here

Best vegan junk food

Best vegan junk food I've ever had. I never usually go for the burger option when eating out because it's so often unexciting, or the same beyond meat/moving mountains burger you get everywhere. The burgers at Wholesome Junkies however are incredible. A choice of patties made in house, all of which are amazing, with lots of different sauces and toppings. Their potato tots and loaded fries are equally delicious. I've been loads over the years and everything is always consistently amazing. Fantastic that they've now got their own space too, which is really nicely decorated and a great place to enjoy a meal. I can't recommend it enough

So tasty!

Fully vegan so plenty of choice. Yes it's 'junk' food but some nice options such as the miso corn ribs balance it out. The food was so tasty and flavorful and portions are good.
