111 Vegan / Vegetarian Friendly Restaurants
Travel Notes: Manchester is a city of culture, history and more importantly is a vegan heaven, with chain
restaurants in the city centre, competing with each other for the vegan market, with vegan options and menus popping up everywhere.
Further afield in Ancoats, voted hippest area in the UK and third in Europe 2017, or the Northern Quarter voted ninth, and you
will find a vegan junk food joint, vegan cafes, coffee shops offering vegan cakes and brownies, made by one of the ever growing
number of vegan bakers.
Small and independent restaurants offer everything from breakfast, brunch, pizza, jerk jackfruit to Sunday roasts and everything in between. Travel to the suburbs and you will find a vegan ice-cream parlour, Chinese restaurant, even a vegan pizza takeaway or a fine dining vegan & glutenfree restaurant. A vegetarian co-operative in the student quarter off Oxford Road and a vegan supermarket in nearby Chorlton, satisfy every shoppers needs, alongside independent healthfood stores and a well known high street chain.
Weekly food markets with pop up vegan stalls, have been so successful, there is now a fully plant powered market every Sunday, in a disused railway station, in the throes of having a complete makeover and transformation. Manchester is every vegan and vegetarians dream.
