Fresh and local - Edit
It always makes for a lovely evening out to go to the watershed to watch an independent film and have food there too.
I have always found the staff very friendly and the food yummy and reasonably priced. I have never had any problem getting a vegan meal from there either
Pros: Price, The overall venue

Well labelled vegan options and tasty - Edit
I've eaten in here several times over the years and always been happy with the food. It has a lovely energy with river views (if you get the right table). Their menu is really helpful and clearly labels it's vegan choices (which takes the stress out of ordering for me). In fact there are loads of vegan options! It's good quality, locally sourced food and you can really taste the difference.
The also serve good quality herbal teas and desserts.
It's a perfect stop off if you want to have a meal before the theatre (which is only a couple of minutes away).
Pros: Tasty food, Good quality, Lots of vegan options
Cons: Serves meat

Good choice and friendly staff - Edit
This is a great place to eat with a huge selection of food, much of which can be "veganised" on request. The staff are happy to offer this, and give suggestions.
I like the balcony, it is a non smoking outside terrace so ideal for a summers day.
Pros: outside terrace , veganising!, many options
Cons: can get busy when shows are on

Great food in great location - Edit
Watershed seems to have upped it's game recently in regards to vegan options. There has always been a selection of vegetarian offerings over the years but they have always been vague around vegan menu items. Today they produced a separate listing clearly showing everything that could be made vegan which was a long list including risotto, pasta, burger, soup, curry and more. These are tasty, hearty meals and you are unlikely to walk away hungry. A great Bristol institution over the years, I always really enjoy visiting the Watershed. Recommend!
Pros: Good vegan options, Excellent location, Hearty food
Cons: Quite expensive

Limited choice for vegans - Edit
Unfortunately, the waitress didn't know what was vegan, so I asked dish by dish (and she went to chef) until I finally ordered the sandwich with hummus and vegetables. The sandwich was ok, but the coleslaw was with dairy...
Pros: Nice location
Cons: limited vegan option, staff not helpful

Tasty for me - Edit
I came here on a weekend trip to Bristol. I had a wonderful dinner of Chickpea patties with butternut squash, kale and a tahini dressing (which I got double checked was vegan as it was creamy delicious!). The staff were lovely and the place had a wonderful atmosphere. On the ither handm my heavily meat eating boyfriend didn't rate his lamb burger. The chips were really nice though! Was really lovely to eat and then see a film in the same place. I liked it here.
Pros: Tasty food, Good location, Friendly staff

Watershed Cafe has great food - Edit
The Watershed is an arts and culture center in Bristol facing the Bordeaux Quay. The cafe has a limited menu that focuses on fresh, local food. There is always at least one vegetarian dish. Dishes are tasty, well-prepared and inexpensive. In September 2010, they offer a Risotto of the Day. I tried one with beets, goat cheese, and arugula for about 7 GBP. It was delicious. Good flavor, not too salty, the right amount of goat cheese. (IMHO it could have had even more beets.) Order from the bar, and food will be brought to the table. There's free WiFi and a few public web kiosks built into tables. There is an excellent selection of beer and cider. It's a large space, not cramped, and you can find a table even on a weekend night. From their flyer:
From Plot to Plate: Watershed Cafe/Bar takes an ethical and sustainable approach to food - serving a new healthy, free-range, seasonal, organic menu wherever possible. We support the local economy, whilst paying the highest respect to the welfare of animals and the quality of the land.
Pros: delicious food, healthy, local
Cons: limited vegetarian choice, noisy
