Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
Because the meat industry is grim, basically. Been veggie since 9 or 10 (when I realised where meat came from) and although I don't press my vegetarianism on others I think generally people should be looking to significantly reduce meat in their diets and to know the provenance of it; what a huge difference to the environment that could make..!
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
Because I always use the site when I'm travelling and finally realised I should contribute to it and help fellow veg-folk find a good dinner too!
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
I really liked Lisbon (and was totally amazed by how much great veggie food there was!) and had some great tapas in Santander in Northern Spain - I'd like to travel round Spain more, visit South America, go to Berlin.. loads to do!
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Pecans, bourbon, long-stem broccoli and soft milky Spanish cheese. And raw carrots.
