I'm not a big doughnut fan, but a local friend told me I had to visit.

They were so good! I went again the next morning.
You have got to try the Vortex doughnut and the apple fritter, both vegan. They also make great coffee and it's a cool place to just hang out for a while.
Service was great overall, except for one guy who seemed to self-important to bother making eye contact or conversation.

We love finding vegan donuts when we travel. This place didnt dissapoint. Try the espresso one! It was the best! Great coffee as well!

Great variety of vegan doughnuts. They were delicious! I got an iced chai latte with oat milk that was great. My husband got a nitro cold brew and he said it tastes acidic, almost like instant chilled coffee.

Everytime my fiancé and I make a trip to Asheville, we always stop by Vortex to grab a few of their vegan yeast doughnuts 🍩! They also have great coffee!

Amazing donut place with awesome vegan donuts!! The base for their yeast dough is vegan so almost all the yeast donuts are vegan except for a few that have non vegan toppings. There were like 10 vegan flavors when we went! So amazing and fluffy.

Went here twice on my trip. Declious doughnuts, I tried the Vortex, apple fritter, espresso, and chocolate and loved them all. A nice mug of coffee to accompany them, as well. Easily walkable from downtown.

We got donuts, juice, and coffee to go on a Sunday morning and there were several vegan options: glazed, chocolate frosted, strawberry sprinkle, apple fritter, espresso, turtle, and cinnamon sugar. Our favorites were the strawberry sprinkle and apple fritter. Chocolate is usually my favorite, but their chocolate was not sweet at all. The coffee and juice were good, they have oat milk available!

Delicious. Prepare yourself for the fact that they will only have 4-5 vegan options on any any given day. Saying that, their donuts are very good and you’ll likely want to get extras to take home. I really liked both that I tried. They also have non-dairy milk (almond when I was there but I think they normally have oat) for coffee and tea!

My boyfriend & I ended up going here 3 days in a row while in town because we loved this place so much. We tried 7 doughnuts when all was said and done, and the rise on the yeast was fluffy and delicious. The apple fritter has apple slices in the middle which made it a favorite, and the Blueberry Chocolate Cookie was more mildly flavored than I expected but it was easier to eat then since it wasn’t super sweet. The coffee is also awesome, and they had Oatly Milk.

A beautiful shop with absolutely delicious vegan doughnuts! They carried 4 kinds of vegan doughnuts- so chewy, fluffy and yummy! $2-3 for a doughnut and BOGO on Wed 12-5. My boyfriend enjoyed his non-vegan doughnut as well. Chai latte with oatmeal milk was VERY sweet but good. Would love to visit again!

Advice- get there as early as possible. I went around 7:30am when the donuts had just come out of the bakery, so they were all warm and soft. It was QUITE the way to start my day, especially combined with a good cup of coffee.

2 vegan doughnut options: a cinnamon sugar donut and a salted caramel donut. The salted caramel was great, nice sweetness, yeast-like dough. Very popular joint. Could certainly have more options but nice they have something.

My husband and I stopped in on our way through Asheville. Since becoming vegan, I had not had a donut in over a year. We got half a dozen vegan donuts to share, in almost every flavor. We are on our way back through Asheville today and we will be getting a dozen more to bring home to Greensboro. They are SO GOOD.

I didn't LOVE the donuts here, but it was a sweet, fun treat, and I was happy to have my first vegan donut. They have so many vegan choices of donuts, too--I think around 6, plus three different kinds of fritters.

First donut in years - Edit
I recently had my first donut here since I went vegan over three years ago. It tasted like the real deal, even if the texture was not 100% like a donut I remembered, but it was absolutely delicious! We've ordered the vanilla and cinnamon one and preferred the vanilla icing over the cinnamon sugar grains. Lots of choices though, and staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit!!

Yum! Vegan Yeast Doughnuts! - Edit
This place was so good we went twice during our week long trip to Asheville, and would have gone more if we had been staying closer! Both days there was an entire tray of vegan doughnuts, a mixture of yeast and cake doughnuts! I hadn't had a yeast doughnut since going vegan and I had missed them! We tried lots of flavors, my favorites were the mango margarita and the coconut chocolate. We got chais with soy milk both times. They have coffee and milk alternatives too. It seems like the doughnut selection changes so you could probably call and see what they have daily.

Came back to town a year later and we got donuts all three mornings! They added a whole platter of vegan apple fritters (classic, caramel and sugar!) since we last came. The donuts were still great. I don't know why they don't mention they have a big selection of vegan donuts on their site!
